I thought, when young, my heart was big enough to hold everything, everyone. I see now, the gentle (mostly) way the universe makes room for more, by letting go of what should no longer fit. The stretching of our hearts is a beautiful thing.
.
Used to think it huge,
big enough to hold it all,
but it never was.

No doubt we find ourselves in foggy times, mist shrouded, lonely, often alone. We are coming slowly through what is arguably the gloomiest, toughest time in global history in any of our lifetimes, but I am here to tell you one thing: there is always light behind the fog. Always a glow if you look, some shine to remind you what waits beyond. Hold on friends. Just hold on.
.
Fly through all the fog
until you rise above it.
Let your wings find light.

Been thinking a lot about intentionality lately, about living close to the people and the places that take our breath away. How life is about this, weeding out the noise, cutting to what matters. Finding the places, keeping the people, letting go of the rest. I want this life, and I am getting closer. I want this level of contentment.
.
Will I breathe again,
I asked myself when we met.
I don’t mind drowning.

Sample of my daily newsletter below. This is what you’d read each morning if you signed up! Link in bio.
.
How strange we human beings, how odd we people wandering through a life. What a strange blend of traits, we bipedal hairless apes. I think of this often, how many versions of ourselves can coexist inside the same skin, how many different people scream out for our attention from deep in the recesses of these shells we call home. I am one thing, I know this, one thing you all call Tyler Knott Gregson, but I am a thousand variations of that worn out soul. I am a man of opposites, I am a man of similarities, I am a man of joy, of sorrow, of ambitious, of dreadfully tired. I think what makes us unique as a species, is our ability to house all these versions, and what’s more, for them to all live happily beside the others.
.
Sometimes they war, sometimes they fight for light, but on the whole, they all seem to help each other out, to figure out a way to move forward as that one thing, and for this reason, I am in awe.
.
Perhaps this year, I will give more attention to those variations, I will offer more respect to each and every one of them, give them all their space to shine. It’s the very least I can do.
.
One but still many,
a thousand variations
of this worn out soul.

Coming up on a year now unable to do our jobs, unable to shoot weddings, meet all you amazing souls, see new places, make a paycheck, feel like there’s something new on the horizon. My goodness I need off these rails.
.
I’m running in place,
only seeing what I’ve seen.
Let me off the rails.
