ink on canvas blank,
I would trace you,
slow and sure
adding me to what
you always were.

If you fade off, forget
your boldness,
I’ll tear the page,
and shade around
the indentation
you left behind, I’ll
remind you
the groove you left,
and leave myself
for you to
trace
once again.

Glasses off and you’re skin
and shape, soft curve
blurring into the beyond,
a contrast of pale
on night.  Glasses off
and you’re miles away,
haze of a woman
moving like mist and
ache.  

Closer, step at a time
and the translucence
will sharpen, this piece
into that, leg into back
into shoulder or neck,
thigh into mystery,

I’m waiting for clarity,
patiently,
I’m waiting
for you.
