Amber (Schamel) Lemus inspires hearts through enthralling tales. She has a passion for history, books and her Savior. This combination results in what her readers call "historical fiction at its finest". A homeschool graduate from a family of 12 children, Amber found her calling early in life. First published at age 21, she has continued to hone her craft and has been awarded the Christian Indie Award in Historical Fiction twice. She lives near the Ozarks in her "casita" with her prince charming. Between enjoying life as a boy mom, and spinning stories out of soap bubbles, Amber loves to connect with readers and hang out on Goodreads with other bookish peoples. Amber is an active member of American Christian Fiction Writers.

Writing is a ministry, and I spend a lot of time in prayer, begging God to anoint my mind and fingers as the words flow onto the page. Without that anointing, my words are less than useless.

I can't tell you how many times I will be struggling with something in a story, then the Lord will drop an idea in there that makes perfect sense and flows with the story better than I ever could have imagined. It's one of those times when you just say, "thank you, Lord" and keep doing what you know He's asked you to do. There is nothing like this experience, and to me, that's one of the greatest things about being a Christian writer. (less)

Hello Leona!
Great question. Each book is a little bit different, but I do not consider myself a romance author. That being said, romance is usually a part of life, so there are small threads of it in my books. The Days of Messiah series focuses on a couple that is already married, however their marriage is in tatters. By the end of the series, the relationship is renewed. Book 3 of that series focuses on the journey of their son, and there is just a hint of romance in that one.
My latest release, Solve by Christmas, has the strongest romance thread out of all the books I've written thus far, but it is still pretty minor in comparison to the rest of the story.

Thank you for your question!(less)

Echoes of the Ancient New Testament Cities: Antioch of Syria

 Matthew James Elliott

Over the past several months, these articles have focused a lot on the darker side of history. With the holiday season upon us, I thought it would be a great opportunity to focus on some cities that have more of a positive history. Why? Well, because why not? We all need a little light in our lives this holiday season, don’t we? I know I sure could use some.

Hi Susan! I understand what you mean! My TBR pile is huge too, though I think you may have me beat! LOL.

Susan Manchester Man! I am overwhelmed by the fact that I won your book! I just looked up your website when I got a thank you from here for adding you as a friend. I am so sorry that I did not get back to you on that, but things are very overwhelming here right now. I too am grateful to meet another homeschooler. And again, thank you for choosing me as a book winner! I not like, LOVE to read Christian books! I will really try to write a review! I was telling another author this morning that I have 4,000 books in my to-be-read pile, and it is impossible for me to even sort them out anymore. In fact, some of them are still in the boxes and packages they were shipped in!
