My FIRST Blog Post in Spanish!!
Usually, I write my blog in English but since we have been traveling through South and Central America for almost a year now as well as learning Spanish, I decided to practice my Spanish in real-life situations including: 1) Doing Public Speeches in Spanish 2) Making YouTube Videos in Spanish 3) Interviewing people on my Podcast in Spanish 4) Writing Blog Posts in Spanish Therefore, here is my FIRST EVER Blog Post in Spanish….

Do’s and Don’ts of Posting Your Travel Experience on Social Media
Do’s and Don’ts of posting your travel experience on social media _________________________________________________________________________________ “Beep!” your phone lights up and you see 2 more people have liked your picture. With the new-age speedy scrollers, people are live all day and all night, literally. The cliched photos, the constant check-ins, the super-zoomed in pictures of your cocktails, the boarding passes, we have seen it all, and we have done it all. But have you ever realized that you’ve been doing it all wrong all this while? Plan your vacation to your dream location, but here are a few do’s and don’ts of posting your travel. Not too many filters please! Do not make your picture look too dramatic. Do not go too far editing the pictures. That way, most pictures just end up looking bizarre and far from reality. Stop with the narcissism Do not make your Instagram feed about only you! Post inspiring pictures that would make people want to travel Use your social media posts to educate, inspire, and delight your followers. Add travel tips and travel guides, do’s and don’t that would enhance others’ travel experience. Quality over quantity, always! Yes, you are the Eiffel Tower, but do you really need to post 10 pictures of the same monument? Keep its short, keep it sassy! Describe your photos A little background information to tell a story will stay long in people’s memories. Write something about what made you click a particular picture, or what was your inspiration when you decided to write a particular blog. #UseHashtags Now this is tricky. You don’t want to overdo it yet want to add enough hashtags so as your posts reach the wider range of audiences. Tag appropriate accounts Do not unnecessarily go on tagging the official accounts of the many tourism boards, or that of the accounts with over a million followers hoping for a retweet or a repost. Only tag the ones that are relevant. Avoid the clichéd shots Feet on the beach? Holding the tip of the Taj Mahal? Kissing the Sphinx? Duck faces? We have seen it a thousand times already. Get creative and click the not-so-seen-before poses. No hotel rooms! No one is really interested in looking at your messy hotel rooms. Just do not post pictures of your hotel rooms. Never brag Do not cross over that sacred line. Humble bragging is okay but bragging to the point […]

Travel Gear Review – Grand X View 2 Tablet
What is your favourite Travel Gear? Most likely you have some Tech Devices as part of luggage and travel accessories. Right now, we have been using one laptop and 2 smart phones between the 5 of us. Usually, I am using my laptop for work projects while my kids occasionally get to use my Smart Phone. We do not have a specific device just for them. Well, thanks to our new partnership with ZTE Canada, our kids have just received their brand new tablet in the mail! Have you heard of ZTE? They have an awesome lineup of smartphones, tablets and Wifi devices and are relatively new in the Canadian Tech Market. Their newest product is the new Grand X View 2 Tablet which is available through Bell, Rogers, Fido, and Virgin. Luckily, I am a long-term Rogers Customer! The Grand X View 2 has a low price point to entry and can be purchased with a data plan from one of the 4 carriers for as low as $0 or purchased outright for under $200. Here are the things that we personally like after using the device for a few days: 1) COMPACT SIZE – One of the best features of the Grand X View 2 Tablet is the light and easy-to-carry size. The kids can put the Tablet in their backpacks, take it in the car for Road Trips, and bring it along on long Plane, Train, & Bus Rides. Whenever our kids walk around with my $1,500 MacBook Pro I am scared they will drop it. No more fears! 2) USER-FRIENDLINESS – Since we are an Apple-Loving Family, we were a little scared at first about using a non-Apple device. However, within a few minutes, we got the hang of it and found it very user-friendly and intuitive (even for young kids)! It’s great no matter how much Brand Loyalty you may have towards Apple or Samsung! 3) CHILD-FOCUSED – Our kids will be the main users so we look forward to downloading some movies, tv shows, and cartoons on the device as well as some Educational Apps and Games. Since our daughter loves Video Blogging, she is super happy to have her own Tablet to make YouTube Videos with! For those of you who are “Tech Geeks” and want to know all the specifics: 1) The ZTE Grand X View 2 boasts a large 8” HD display, […]

My YouTube Income Report
Curious how we make money while traveling the world? One of my biggest passions is helping people become Digital Nomads. I’ve covered my Income Streams on my Podcast and Media Interviews quite extensively. However, for those who missed those resources, it’s been a combination of 4 major ingredients: 1) SAVING – we have used up a lot of our savings on our current Daddy Blogger World Tour. We do have some Emergency Money set aside as well as we consistently put money into all 3 of our Kids Education Funds every single month (this is non-negotiable). However, if you rely on savings alone, it will soon run out! 2) SELLING – before we left our hometown of Vancouver, BC, Canada we sold the majority of our stuff including our house, our car, our furniture, our electronics, our books, our event production gear, and much more! In fact, we only have about 5 boxes of sentimental stuff at my mom’s place. We have everything we need with us now! 3) SPONSORSHIPS – getting sponsored hotels, sightseeing, food, and transport has been extremely helpful on this trip as accommodation is usually the biggest expense when traveling. We have got sponsorships in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Dubai, South Africa, and for several places and sights in South and Central America 4) SALARY – I have now created 7 streams of consistent active and passive Online Income Streams including my Coaching Programs, Mastermind Groups, Online Courses, Podcasts, Virtual Summits, Travel Blogging, Affiliate Marketing, Kindle Book Sales, and YouTube Ad Revenue. I will be cutting back and focus on just the main ones. For those of you who love numbers and stats, YouTube has an overwhelming amount of data that they provide to their Content Creator Partners (like myself). I’m impressed that they keep such a detailed record of every view, every subscriber, every comment as well as graphs showing you major upward and downward trends. I don’t understand a lot of the specifics but you can clearly see the main numbers on a high level on the Screen Shots below: January 2018 Income Our Top 10 Money-Making Videos 2017 Quarter 4 Income 2017 Full Year Income

How to Change your Name
On this exclusive interview on Daddy Blogger TV, the founder of Full Name Change, Mike McCarthy, shares some of the steps involved with changing your name. Mike shares his back story as an entrepreneur and business owner. It was great to hear about some of Mike’s business failures and successes as entrepreneurship definitely has plenty of peaks and valleys. We also talk about his favourite Travel Destinations around the world (we ask all of our Podcast Guests about Travel and Business)! I was actually in Copan, Honduras during this interview so I am grateful the wifi held up for the entire interview! We cover a lot of ground in this content-rich and highly practical interview including the 3 times you may have to change your name (Marriage, Divorce, Court Order), changing your different IDs and documentation (Passport, Driver’s License, Social Insurance Card, Work ID, Banking Details, Mailing Addresses, Email Addresses, Social Media Profiles), differences between countries and between states, circumstances surrounding Destination Weddings, requirements for Business Name Changes, how to get a Full Name Change Certification, and much more. In our case, my amazing wife Anne changed her last name from “Davis” to “Shetty” after we got married but even now, she has a few of her documents and email addresses with her Maiden Name. It’s definitely a long and lengthy process and it can get confusing and overwhelming if you don’t do your research and due diligence. Full Name Change has some awesome blog posts and resources to support people going through the process. If you are about to get married or know someone who is going through a divorce and has to go through the process of changing your name, make sure you share this blog post with them! It will help them answer some of the FAQ involved with changing your name. You can also get a Full Name Change Digital Gift Card as a Birthday or Engagement or Wedding Gift too! What a unique, creative, and practical idea for a present! Check out the informative interview here: We have an awesome offer for all of our Daddy Blogger readers, followers, and supporters! 3 Success Strategies for Dads in 2018
3 Success Strategies for Dads in 2018 Written by guest blogger Joel Gardner It is a new year – a time to create positive changes. In this blog post, I share how to improve your own success as a father (or mother). With my incredible wife, I have used these strategies to help our family grow, to perform as a professional, and even write a book on how to get the most important things done in life. 3 Success Strategies Here are three key strategies you can use to be a great dad. 1) Choose Your Focus A great dad focuses on his family. This means working to support that family, and providing opportunities to work, teach, and play with your children each day. Now, dads, this does not mean that you have to stop all other activities – Skyrim, civil war reenacting, karate, or volunteer work all have their place. It simply means that to be a great dad, you must give your family first priority. Choose to focus on your family, and you have made the right choice. 2) Eliminate Distractions A great dad eliminates distracting people, media, and clutter from his life. This means limiting social media time, avoiding violent or salacious media, and staying away from the people and circumstances that distract you from being a great dad. I know many dads who have given away their greatness to addictions, excessive habits, and negative relationships. You do not want to join that group. Consider the following: What habits do you have in your life that limit your ability to be a great dad? What individual or group of people interferes with your fatherly greatness? All worthwhile endeavors require sacrifice. Resolve to eliminate the most distracting obstacle from your life now. 3) Optimize Yourself A great dad takes care of his own health. If you do not care for your body, mind, and spirit, you cannot be a great dad. What should you do to optimize yourself as a dad? Consider the following. Sleep. 7 to 9 hours is recommended. Nutrition. No junk food – eat whole foods. Exercise. Weightlifting, cardio, sports – whatever keeps you active. Spirituality. Read scripture, attend worship services, meditate, or pray – whatever keeps you spiritually grounded. Personal rejuvenation. Date nights, time with your friends, hobbies – be sure to do what restores and rejuvenates you. Start Now Imagine yourself as the father […]

Meandering through Mexico
We just completed an amazing 3 week overland journey from Mexico City to the Yucatan. On this blog post, I’ll give a summary of the top 10 places we visited in Mexico. We also had the opportunity to spend Christmas and New Years in the Yucatan (our second year in a row spending winter in a Tropical Country….last year, we were in the Philippines). It’s also our 6th year in a row being away from Vancouver for the Winter Holidays (Whistler, Abbotsford, Salt Spring Island, Tofino, Philippines, Mexico). It’s become an annual tradition to get away from the cold of our home city of Vancouver in search of the sun! We loved Mexico overall but found the Yucatan area to be much too touristy. We preferred the overland journey from Mexico City to Oaxaca to San Cristobal de Las Casas to Palenque to Campeche to Merida. Once we hit Cancun, there were thousands of tourists, prices were much higher, everyone was speaking English, and the locals were trying to rip us off because they are so used to rich tourists. As you know from this blog, we are passionate immersive travellers and tend to avoid mass tourism destinations. Looking forward to exploring the rest of Central America after we are done with Mexico. So, here’s our Top 10 Destinations in chronological order based on date of visit: 1) MEXICO CITY We spent 1 week in Mexico City at an Airbnb that was only 10 mins walk from the historical centre. We filled ourselves up with tacos almost every day (how can you not with 5 Tacos for 15 Pesos/$1 USD) as well as Quesadillas, Gorditas, Enchiladas, Tortas, Sopas, and more! The kids loved going to a local Wrestling Match (called “Lucha Libre” – “Free Fighting”). They even got matching Yellow and Pink Masks for the Main Fight of the Night (Caristico vs Mistico). We also did a day trip to the Aztec Ruins at Teotihuacan visiting the Pyramid of the Sun (the 3rd biggest pyramid in the world). We even got to see “The Last Jedi” on Opening Night in Mexico City! 2) OAXACA Our first destination outside of Mexico City brought us to Oaxaca City (about 7 hours by bus). We absolutely loved Oaxaca as it’s rich in culture and history. We even got to experience a local Parade from the main church to the town square with families, […]

The Uniqueness of Uruguay
Our FINAL COUNTRY in South America! We have now visited all 12 countries in South America including Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Suriname, Guyana, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and now Uruguay. It’s been an incredible 8 months of travel from April to December. It was our first ever visit to South America and we will definitely be back especially since we have yet to visit Antartica and the Galapagos Islands! Plus, we need to work on our Spanish!

The Allure of Argentina
Argentina is definitely alluring. Just the thought of it makes you want to come and visit! Argentina has been on our MUST-VISIT LIST for years so we were super grateful to be able to visit Argentina not only once but twice during our #DaddyBloggeWorldTour of South America. Our first visit was to Iguazu Falls when we crossed over from Brazil and our second visit was when we crossed over from Chile visiting Mendoza, Cordoba, Buenos Aires, and Tigre before heading to Uruguay (our final country and destination in South America). Here’s our reflections of Argentina: 1) IGUAZU FALLS Iguazu Falls has been one of the most amazing attractions in our entire travels. Even though I have now been to 70+ countries on 6 continents, I’m still astonished when I stand in front of places like Iguazu. It’s really the incredible work of God: His Masterpiece for all the world to look at with awe and wonder. We did a Day Trip from Brazil to see both the Argentinian and the Brazilian sides of Iguazu and we did Boat Trips on both sides too. Definitely the Argentinian side is more impressive as it has 80% of the Falls. If you just do the Brazilian side you will have only seen 20% of the Falls so I highly recommend checking out both sides to really grasp how big Iguazu is. 2) MENDOZA We crossed over from Valparaiso to Mendoza on a Night Bus which was quite difficult as we had to do Border Crossings & Customs in the middle of the night. Definitely won’t be doing that again as it’s quite tough with young kids. We will be doing all of our overland border crossings during the day from now on. Mendoza is a beautiful city with a massive park to explore, a nice historical downtown area, and of course lots of surrounding wineries as Mendoza is home to some of the most famous Argentinian Wines! 3) CORDOBA We stayed only a block away from the bus station as we only had one night to spend in Cordoba before heading to Buenos Aires. However, we spent 3-4 hours exploring the historical parts of Cordoba which is a very lively and energetic college city. In fact, we met several University Students who spoke perfect English. One of the them was an enormous help as we could not find our Booking.com Hotel as we […]

Visiting Over 100 Cities in Under 1 Year
WOW! Until I started writing this blog post, I hadn’t fully realized how many cities we had been to over the course of this year! Yes, I am counting countries (even those are hard enough to keep track of)! Currently, we are at 19 countries and 4 continents on this trip and 74 countries on 6 continents overall. Here’s a list of every single city that we have stayed in (there are a few exceptions of Day Trips, but the vast majority we have spent one or more nights in). Also, I did not count separate cities that are a part of a bigger city (for example, Manila is broken into several cities but I just counted Manila as a whole).
