Our Daddy Blogger World Tour Schedule
We started our #DaddyBloggerWorldTour on Tuesday, Dec 6, 2016 and have been documenting each and every day of our travels. This document was originally only intended to be private for our family to remember all the details of our trip. However, my wife encouraged me to share it on our blog so our readers could see the finer details of the itinerary of a World Tour. So, as usual…I listened to my wife!

10 Tips To Give a Powerful TEDx Talk
In preparation for my own TEDx Talk on Nov 11, 2018, I have written my script down and revised it more than 10 times, recorded my talk every single day for the past 2 weeks, and watched over 50 TEDx Talks on YouTube to learn HOW strong speaks deliver incredible talks! Here are 10 lessons I have learned in preparing for my TEDx Talk: 1) Ask for Help Create your own TEDx Talk Feedback Team who will give you tips and advice about what to keep, what to remove, and what to change. I posted on my Social Media and within 1 hour of me posting and had 20 willing friends who have helped me tremendously! So many people are ready to help – you just need to ASK! 2) Follow the Intro, Body, Outro Structure People think about the Beginning, Middle, End Structure so make sure you have a strong start that builds rapport, a content-rich body that educates and entertains, and a bold finish that has an inspiring conclusion. The opening and the closing is what people will remember the most. 3) Use the Rule of Threes I use the Rule of Threes several times in my speech. 3 questions in a row at the beginning (How many people love to travel?) 3 steps to travel the world as a Digital Nomad (Save, Sell, Serve) 3 examples to support my points (Ricky’s Digital Nomad Journey, Rianne’s YouTube Channel, Ryan’s Orphanage Stay) 3 stories in my TEDx Talk (My Story, Your Story, Our Story) 4) Use the Power of STORY Facts Tell, Stories SELL. Humans are hardwired to pay close attention to stories (through history, through our parents, through the media, through schools, through social media, through blogs, through books, through podcasts, through movies). Make sure you pepper Power Stories and the Hero’s Journey in your talk. 5) Focus on EMOTION (not Logic) I started my first draft with a lot of info, focused on content and education. However, over the next few drafts, I transitioned to make my script more inspirational and motivatinoal (rather than strictly informational and factual). Also, people who gave me feedback told me that the inspirational parts were the BEST parts of my talk. 6) Write down THE ENTIRE SCRIPT You might be tempted to just write the outline or just wing it / improvise it as you go. However, I strongly recommend writing […]

Some TEDx Event Organizers require you to email the script to them. 7) ME and YOU Interplay The key is to connect your story with their story (whether it is the audience […]

6 Ways I Became a Better Parent after Seeking Treatment for my Xanax Addiction
6 Ways I Became a Better Parent after Seeking Treatment for my Xanax Addiction Living life as a 22-year old newlywed and a proud parent of an adorable six-month-old seemed like a fantasy that was too good to be true – and sure enough, it was. After being married for less than a year, I found myself going through a hectic divorce and entering a new journey as a single mom. As if that weren’t enough, a few credits away from obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I had to drop out of college to work a full-time job in efforts to maintain a life of normalcy for both myself and my son. After losing several jobs and friends, I had hit rock bottom. I was battling extreme depression and constant panic attacks. After feeling helpless for so long, I finally sought out professional help where I was prescribed Xanax as a coping mechanism. I became addicted faster than I can remember. With much psychiatric help and a few wrong turns, I was able to beat my drug addiction and rebuild a healthy relationship with my son. Here are six ways I became a better parent after undergoing treatment for my Xanax addiction. 1. I Became Less Moody Anyone who was once a victim of drug addiction, especially Xanax, can agree that you experience extreme highs and lows for no apparent reason. Although my wish was to fill my son’s world with immense love and attention, I found myself being constantly irritated and aggressive towards the minor mishaps of raising a toddler. Following my treatment, I had finally become the tolerant and patient mother that I had always dreamed to be. 2. I Began To Spend More Quality Time While under the influence, I was always late or made excuses as to why I couldn’t be there for my little one. At the time I didn’t realize how many precious moments I was actually missing out on, but now I do. In fact, being sober encourages me to embrace and maximize the time spent with my child. 3. I Became More Present In The Moment Instead of being so distracted and anxious during our few interactions, I now have become more present in the moment and our bond has grown stronger. Simply showing up is not enough, as a parent, you must engage with your children and allow them your full attention. […]

6 Ways to Keep Your Car in Excellent Condition for Road Trips
6 Ways to Keep Your Car in Excellent Condition Some vehicles will drive for decades. They will clock six-figure mileages while others will be tow-worthy in under three years. In case you are wondering why that is the case, take a good look at the following things. If you follow them religiously, your car will stay in top-notch conditions for a long haul. Regularly Check and Replace Vehicle Fluids Your car has several fluids that ought to be checked and replaced on time. The trick is to give your car the old-fashioned, just-in-time fluid service. Engine oil tops this list. Ensure that you use the recommended oil for every season. Thicker is not always better. Manufacturers know why they recommend what they recommend. Change your automatic fluid transmission (ATF) regularly. There are other fluids, such as brake, coolant, windshield, and steering fluids. Fix Broken or Damaged Parts One broken or damaged part will lead to further damage to other components. Make it a tradition of fixing things immediately when you spot them. A crack on your windscreen, for example, will soon escalate to a bigger problem that will require windshield replacement. It can also lead to problems with visibility. Give the outside and inside of the vehicle equal treatment. Missing buckles on seatbelts or loose Silverado 1500 fender flares show neglect. Properly Lubricate Movable Parts Proper greasing with the recommended grease grade is not much of an option. Friction is the cause of tear and wears in moveable parts such as wheels and shafts. If you want to keep your car for long, you will need a checklist and a timetable of what you do and at what time. There are apps in the market that can help you keep track of minor services. Regular Cleaning and Waxing Majority of car owners rarely wash their cars in winter. Research shows that you should wash your car regularly, more so in winter. It sounds counterproductive, but it will help you get rid of various elements such as grime and salt. Removing these elements on time will preserve your car by reducing rust. Paint needs an added gloss to keep it in tip-top condition. Waxing helps to maintain your paint condition. Maintain the Recommended Service Interval Each vehicle comes with a manual that contains many things. One important thing that many vehicle owners […]

Episode # 500 – Digital Nomad Mastery Podcast
The BIG 500! On Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 11 am – 2 pm EST (8 am – 11 am PST) we will be recording Episode # 500! We have now recorded over 500 Podcast Episodes in only 1.5 years (18 months) all while traveling through multiple cities, countries, and continents with 3 young kids and having guests from multiple time zones, work commitments, and internet strength. We have interviewed solo travellers, couple travellers, and family travellers as well as nomads of every age from kids to teenagers to young adults, to middle-agers, to empty-nesters, to retired, and to seniors. By getting a wide spectrum, we ensured that we could make travel accessible to all. We have interviewed people from every continent (even people who have been to Antartica) and several travellers who have visited every country in the world (193/193). We have also focused on highlighting ethnic minorities who travel not just limited ourselves to travellers from Western countries. Plus, we have covered different topics of how to fund your travels such as internet marketing, making money online, private coaching, mastermind groups, email marketing, social media, blogging, podcasting, YouTube marketing, book publishing, creating online courses, membership sites, eCommerce, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), teaching languages online, event, workshop, and conference production, retreats, virtual summits, professional speaking, getting into the media, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), busking, website design, graphic design, remote work, Working Holiday Visas (WHVs), volunteering, language learning, home schooling, house sitting, couch surfing, hitchhiking, budget travel, luxury travel, travel hacking, sponsorships, travel photography, travel videography, travel insurance, travel with pets, medical tourism, becoming an expat, different destinations, and much more. As the host, I have personally learned so much. I get to sit in front of a highly successful entrepreneur and/or world traveller and pick their brain for 30-40 mins. It’s been a hands-on, immersive, personalized learning experience especially since I can ask any questions I want. Plus, the podcasts have led me to get several clients, a few sponsors, lots of business partnerships, a load of new friends, and so many new Bucket List items. Hearing people’s stories inspires me to do what they did, see what they saw, eat what they ate, and experience how they experienced a new country. Here are all 500 […]

Top 5 Things That My Autistic Kids Have Taught Me
Top 5 Things That My Autistic Kids Have Taught Me Patience. There is no doubt about it, patience is the number one thing that I have learnt to develop well over the years. Whether it’s dealing with meltdowns on a daily basis or waiting years for Caleb to start saying words. Before kids, I was already a pretty patient guy but now even more so. As a result, my tolerance is pretty high when it comes to dealing with difficult situations or people. In the past, when I wanted something to happen right away, I would get really anxious, frustrated and impatient. But now I know there is a proper time and order for things. If you rush, you make mistakes. If you take your time and be patient, your chances of success are greater. Time Management. Raising 2 boys on the spectrum requires exceptional time management skills. When I get up in the mornings, I have to make sure I make their breakfast, lunch and dinner ahead of time because there really isn’t any time during the day to do that. I also help them get ready for therapy/school by putting on their clothes, brushing their teeth, combing their hair. Working from home means that I have to focus on my work but also be prepared to deal with some interruptions such as meltdowns or recapping meetings with their therapists after each session and in Caleb’s case, actually helping him eat as he sometimes has back to back sessions. On top of this, I have to help with chores at home like doing dishes, laundry and helping my wife out with whatever she needs. All of this and making sure I don’t fall behind on my job! Everyday time flies so quickly, it feels like there is never enough time to get everything done. There are times that I wind up working in the evenings so that I can catch up on my work. Empathy for disability. I’ve always respected others who were different whether they have a disability, different looks, different race, different religion or different upbringing. But raising two boys with autism has increased my empathy level for those who are disabled. Whenever I see a parent of someone who has autism or down syndrome or some other disability, I feel instantly connected to them. There’s something about being a parent of a child with a disability that […]
