9 Days To Go! Meet 69 Bottles Drummer Dex Harris…
When 69 Bottles got to Phoenix, I had a chance to sit down with some of the band members of 69 Bottles. These guys are so much fun to talk to and hang out with, well as long as they’re not trying to get into your pants. Which happens all the time.
Anyway, up first we have 69 Bottles Drummer Dex Harris and we talk about a little bit of everything from women to a past love and the rest of the tour.
To date, Beta Readers and Reviewers are LOVING Dex, so I hope you enjoy your introduction to him.
“You brought a pre-road snack I see.” And he starts moving in my direction in a rather unsexy yet provocative advancement.
“Shut it, Dex,” Kyle snaps.
“Oh but Kyle, she isn’t here for you. She’d take me over you any day.”
“Don’t hold your breath,” I blurt. Dex is tall, maybe six two or six three. He’s not overly large, but he has well-muscled arms that are completely covered in ink. I can also see a couple of tats popping the top of the collar on his t-shirt. He is also in a tight fitting white t-shirt and snug jeans, only he’s swapped his shit-kickers for well-worn brown flip-flops. He keeps eye-fucking me. My hand twitches with the impulse to punch him.
Zoey: Hello again Dex, how are you doing today?
Dex: I’m doing great love, a little sore and tired.
Zoey: You’ve only done three shows, how in the world are you going to manage the rest of the tour?
Dex: That’s what the ladies are for. They take away all my pain.
Zoey: (snorts) So that’s the infamous excuse of the band’s biggest ladies man.
Dex: Oh darlin’ there are no excuses for me. I’m just the who I am.
Zoey: (nods) You can say that again. So what’s it like being the drummer for 69 Bottles?
Dex: It’s the best gig in the world. I love music, more than anything.
Zoey: More than women?
Dex: (nods) no doubt about it.
Zoey: How long have you been beating the drums?
Dex: I started when I was three. I’d always use anything I could get my hands on, and sometimes even my hands, and beat on anything. Tables, chairs, my bed, the couch, it didn’t matter. Eventually my mom started giving me wooden spoons and pans so I’d sit on the kitchen floor and beat the pans for hours. Eventually the pans wouldn’t stand up level anymore so she decided to get me my own drums and it’s all down hill from there.
Zoey: How’d you get hooked up with 69 Bottles?
Dex: We were in college. We did what any band geeks did and started a band. Though Talon is our second singer, but the only singer of 69 Bottles. When he joined the band, we decided to change the name.
Zoey: How’d you guys come up with 69 Bottles?
Dex: (laughs) The guys didn’t come up with it. Well, not directly. We sat around one night, drinking beer, trying to come up with a name, but after too many cases of beer, we passed out. The next morning I was cleaning up our bottles and for some dumb reason, I decided to count them.
Zoey: And there were 69 of them?
Dex: (smirks) You got it Love. It just stuck after that.
Zoey: Tell me about the early days of 69 Bottles. What was it like?
Dex: It was great, most of the time. One thing about the four of us is that we all get along really well. We were always able to talk about gigs and what to do next. We all had similar taste in music so we all wanted to play the same things. Picking cover songs for shows was easy because we all grew up listening to the same stuff. So we’d usually just pick our favorites. Traveling sucked. We had this really shitty 1980’s conversion van that broke down at least once ever trip, no matter how far we went, but it worked for us. Our equipment fit and so did we. On the longer trips, we’d stay is shitty, cash only motels and usually the four of us would pile into a room. We were lucky if we got paid $200.00 for a gig and by the time we took into account expenses, we were lucky if we each made five bucks. But it was never about the money, not for me or for any of them.
Zoey: That sounds like a hard life.
Dex: It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure.
Zoey: So what happened when the tables turned and you started to become the 69 Bottles my fans are about to find out about?
Dex: It was like a light switch. Kyle managed to make some connections when we played a gig in Memphis. Those connections panned out and he forced us to record some of Talon’s original songs. Then it just went from there. But we stayed pretty small time with a big label behind us, then one day it just exploded.
Zoey: The tour you guys started just a few days ago consists of some pretty small venues, but they’re all sold out, and they sold out fast. When things blew up, why didn’t they seek out bigger venues?
Dex: (shrugs) I’m not sure, other than the fact that it would of required more money and investment, I’m not sure the label expected the fame to last. In fact, I’m not so sure it will, but I’ll take what I can get.
Zoey: (smiles) Good. That’s a great attitude. Okay, so you’re the band’s man whore, (Dex chuckles) why is that?
Dex: Why not? I mean think about it, what have I got to lose besides a good time?
Zoey: Nothing I guess, but will there ever be anyone special in your life?
Dex: (snorts then sobers quickly) There was one, once.
Zoey: What happened?
Dex: (gestures around the bus) This happened. I couldn’t bring her along and I knew myself well enough to know I’d never be able to keep my dick to myself. So I let her go.
Zoey: That seems awfully selfish.
Dex: (shrugs) maybe. But she wasn’t cut out for this kind of life. She deserved better than what I could give her.
Zoey: That’s pretty noble. I understand why you’d do that though I cant say I agree with it.
Dex: I think though that it was more we were long term incompatible. She wanted things that I didn’t or don’t want. That makes it hard.
Zoey: Now that is something I can understand.
Dex and I talked a lot more this day, but I am saving some of his goodies until after you’ve all ready Claiming Addison.

10 Days to GO!! I sit down with Talon Carver…
We have only 10 More Days to wait for Claiming Addison – 69 Bottles Book #1!! 10 MORE DAYS!! OMG!! Seriously I am so excited for this release, I’m not sure you really understand how excited I am.
“I could go on and on about this book, but I’ll leave you here… and the fact that buying a copy of this book should come with a complimentary change of panties…” – The Smutsonian’s 5 Star Review
Today I have an interview between Lead Singer Talon Carver and myself. This interview was fun. I was able to pick his brain a little about women and what some of his favorite music and inspirations are. So grab a bowl of popcorn and sit back and enjoy the show.
Zoey: Okay so now that you’re done giving me the third degree it’s my turn.
Talon: (laughing) Be gentle.
Zoey: (snorts) Yeah, okay. So Talon, you’re getting ready to go on tour, what’s the one thing that scares you the most?
Talon: Screwing up.
Zoey: (raises an eyebrow at him) Screwing up what?
Talon: (shrugs) everything. Singing, stepping out of line, pissing off the fans. You name it, it pretty much has me freaking out.
Zoey: That I can understand, but your fans love you and the guys. I doubt there’s much you can do that will ruin it for yourself and them. Besides, the girls will love you no matter what.
Talon: (chuckles) Maybe that’s what scares me the most.
Zoey: Well you’ve got quite the reputation for being a lady’s man. So tell me, are you ever going to settle down?
Talon: (snorts) Not likely. It’s easier this way.
Zoey: How so?
Talon: No commitment. I get what I want, she gets to say that she slept with the lead singer of 69 Bottles, everybody wins.
Zoey: That has to get lonely.
Talon: (shrugs) Not really. I mean come on, a different girl every night.
Zoey: (shakes head) You’re incorrigible you know that?
Talon: (throws his head back laughing)
Zoey: Seriously though? What would it take for you to settle down? What kind of woman do you think will finally capture your full attention?
Talon: (he winks at me) That’s an impossible task and I feel sorry for the woman who puts honest effort into trying. I’ve never considered commitment, in fact I’m pretty sure there isn’t a woman out there that could make me commit.
Zoey: (gives him a conspiratorial look) If you say so. Okay – enough about women. 69 Bottles is ridiculously hot right now, but I’m wondering what inspires you?
Talon: Music, life in general, friends, family, past and present life events and sometimes even the future.
Zoey: What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Talon: (smiles) That’s easy. I love all kinds of music, but I grew up in the eighties and eighties hair metal, sometimes I still fall back on that, especially when I need some inspiration. Sometimes 69 Bottles brings back that eighties style. It’s an art that should never be lost. But I also enjoy a lot of classic rock and even some heavy metal.
Zoey: Who are some of your favorite bands or artists?
Talon: Oh, I don’t know. I love Pantera, some old school Metallica, Pink Floyd, Manson is always a favorite.
Zoey: Nice, sounds like my own catalogue.
Talon: I also like some softer stuff, like Creed and Daughtry.
Zoey: (swoons) Sounds like a man after my own heart. I notice a little bit of each of those in your music and it’s great to hear the reason behind it. So tell me, what are you looking forward to most about this tour?
Talon: I have to say the fans. I love meeting new fans and sometimes seeing some of the only fans that have been around for a while. But in reality, it’s the fans that make this all worth it. I mean 12 weeks on a tour bus is a long time, if it wasn’t for them, I’m not sure I could keep it going day after day, show after show.
Zoey: I know from personal experience that fans make all the difference in the world and I’m hoping to bring you and 69 Bottles to them with your stories. I cannot wait to get busy writing, I have a feeling this is going to be a great tour.
Talon: Well I’m honored to have you along for the ride. I imagine we will make life interesting for you.
Zoey: (laughs) That I have no doubt about. Thanks Talon for taking time away from your busy day. I cant wait to get rolling.
Talon: Absolutely Zoey, I look forward to chatting with you some more.

15 Days… An Interview with Kyle Black!
As we draw ever closer to the release of Claiming Addison, I’m releasing more of my pre-tour interviews. Before leaving Los Angeles, I sat down with Kyle Black, 69 Bottles Manager. It was so much fun and I’m happy to share part of that interview with you. I hope you enjoy!!
Zoey: Hi Kyle, I’m Zoey. It’s a real pleasure to meet you and sit down with you today.
Kyle: Hello Zoey. Are you ready for all this?
Zoey: (snorts) No, but I’m excited as hell.
Kyle: (smiles) Good. I think you’ll find this adventure fun.
Zoey: I have no doubt about that. But enough about me, tell me about you Kyle.
Kyle: What do you want to know?
Zoey: Oh I don’t know, let’s start with something Addison said. (he gives me a quizzical look) She said that there is something familiar about you, but she doesn’t yet know what it is. Do you two know each other?
Kyle: (blushes and runs his hand over his chin) No, not directly.
Zoey: Is that all you’re going to give me?
Kyle: (he smirks) for now. Believe me, I am sure it will come out eventually. Patience works wonders.
Zoey: You’ll find out very quickly that I’m not very patient. At least not when it comes to writing. I usually like to have an idea of what I’m getting myself into before I start, but you, Addison, and Talon, well you’re all quite the enigma to me right now.
Kyle: (smirks) Well, sometimes the surprise makes for the best story.
Zoey: Okay, I can’t deny you that one. Let’s tread onto another topic. You’re 69 Bottles Manager, you’ve been with them for a very long time, what is it that you see in them that’s so special? Why do you think they’ve skyrocketed to the top?
Kyle: I think that regardless of how I answer those questions I am going to sound bias.
Zoey: That’s okay, that’s what I want to hear.
Kyle: (smiles) 69 Bottles is unique in what they do, first of all, their sound is something unlike anything you’ll hear on the radio today. Their songs are original, written usually by Talon and Calvin [Mouse]. They don’t have the ‘big band’ personal because it’s just the four of them, which in rock or alternative rock, as they are, is a little different. Plus I think that each song is different. You have a lot of bands and artists out there these days that use the same or similar baselines for their music, so after a while they all start to sound the same. 69 Bottles doesn’t do that. Which all leads to their success.
Zoey: I have to agree with you there Kyle. One thing that draws me to 69 Bottles is their style of music. I love that they’re not afraid to soften it up or rough it up if the song calls for it. Let alone the fact that Talon’s voice is very unique by itself.
Kyle: yes it is. Though he has some similar qualities to artists already on the market, his range is almost unheard of, which gives him freedoms that other artists might not have.
Zoey: That he does. (smiles) So what will you be doing while on tour?
Kyle: (snorts a laugh) Everything. At least more than likely. It’s my responsibility to schedule events, like after parties and press conferences. It’s also my responsibility to make sure that everything runs on time and that the band is set up and ready to go for the show. But that’s just the short list. I’m also the middle man between the label and the band. I discuss anything the label needs with Talon who then, if necessary, discusses it with the band.
Zoey: Jeez, how do you find time to sleep?
Kyle: (he throws his head back laughing) I don’t.
Zoey: I can tell. So what are you looking forward to most about this tour?
Kyle: I think just the tour in general. We’ve done this before, but not on this scale. I just wish we had more time for things like sightseeing. Many of the places we’re going I’ve never been too before.
Zoey: So would you say the lack of sightseeing is something you’re looking forward to least?
Kyle: I wish. No that would be being cramped on a bus for twelve weeks.
Zoey: (laughs) I think that’s everyone’s least favorite thing. So why not travel by air, give yourselves more time in places?
Kyle: Because air travel is expensive. Though I’m sure Talon would buy a plane if it’s what we really wanted. But to be honest, air travel is so much harder and time consuming. With the buses we can leave out gear, leave our stuff and we’re good to go at a moments notice. We have another bus plus the semi’s, so we’re not tied to waiting for everyone else.
Zoey: That makes perfect sense to me. (winks at Kyle) So now on to the juicy bits…You have a woman traveling with you, Addison…(I watch as a dreamy contentment washes over his eyes, I smirk) What do you think about that?
Kyle: (after a few heartbeats he answers) Honestly? (I nod) Well, uhm…I’m not sure.
Zoey: You’re a little flustered there Kyle.
Kyle: (blushes)
Zoey: Okay, so can I take that as a sign of interest?
Kyle: And then some. She’s gorgeous, I have no idea how I’m going to survive the next 12 weeks with her around.
Zoey: So is it safe to say that you might be making a play for Addison?
Kyle: (smiles and blushes) That’s always a possibility.
Zoey: And that ladies and gents, is why I’m here.
Kyle: (breaking out of his Addison induced trance) I would like to hope so. You are a romance writer after all.
Zoey: (I shrug) I was just told there was a story here and that I needed to be on this bus with you guys, I haven’t a clue what the story is yet, but I have a feeling it’s starting to unravel already. (I smirk) On that note Kyle, someone over there is vying for your attention, I guess that means it’s time for you to make the big bucks. It’s been a real pleasure chatting with you and I look forward to our talking some more.
Kyle: Thank you Zoey for talking with me and here’s to hoping you’re not wasting your time on board.
Zoey: I highly doubt that. I think Dex will give me a run for my money all on his own.
Kyle: (snorts) Watch out for that one, he’s an animal.
Zoey: (laughs) Well then… seems there is more going on with this tour than I thought. (winks at Kyle) Thank you again.
Kyle: (shaking my hand, kissing the back of my hand – this is me swooning) It was a pleasure Zoey.

20 Days and Counting! An Interview with Addison
In Los Angeles, before 69 Bottles started their 12 Weeks, 25 City, 32 Show Road Tour, I sat down with Addison Beltrand. We talked about the upcoming tour and what she expects from the tour and hanging out with 5, sexy, hunky rock stars as the only female aboard a tour bus.
Here’s what we talked about….
Zoey: Hi Addison – I’m Zoey, it’s a pleasure to meet you.
Addison: Same to you.
Zoey: So I have to ask, how does it feel to know you’re going on tour with America’s hottest rock band?
Addison: (laughing) It feels surreal actually. I’ve barely had 48 hours to process all this and now here I am.
Zoey: I’d be lying if I said I’m not jealous.
Addison: I thought you were coming along? (she looks puzzled)
Zoey: (laughs) I am, but I’m only tagging along to observe and write about what I see, the things that happen, from your point of view. So while you’re having a great time, I’ll be recording everything.
Addison: Should I be scared?
Zoey: (snorts a laugh) Petrified. (both laugh) So, what’s something you’re most looking forward to on this tour?
Addison: Tonight’s concert. I know it seems trivial – but I’d planned on going anyway, now I’ll be seeing 30 plus shows. But the first time is always the best.
Zoey: Yes it is – So then what are you looking forward to least?
Addison: (turns around and points to the bus) Being stuck on their for twelve weeks. I value my independence, so the idea of being stuck on a bus reminds me of school trips, being chaperoned. It’s not exactly my idea of a good time. Then again, maybe I could get some reading done. I think my biggest problem is going to be boredom.
Zoey: (snort) I can see that. So you’re a reader? What kinds of books do you like to read? What are you currently reading?
Addison: I am, an avid one at that. I spend a lot of time traveling and sleepless nights, so I spend a lot of time with my Kindle in my face. I love romance novels, of course. I love the hot heroes and sexy heroines. But most of all, I love the love in a romantic story. Currently I’m reading a book called Poughkeepsie but a brilliantly funny author. It’s not the first time I’ve read it.
Zoey: I know that book, it’s one of my personal favorites and I completely understand what you mean about the romance in a romantic novel, it’s why I read them and of course why I write them. (Addison smiles) So, you’ve worked for Bold for a number of years, taking care of musicians is your specialty. What would you say is your favorite part about your job?
Addison: Meeting new clients. I don’t get to work with a lot of the big names, but the ones I do get to work with are very humble, at least in the beginning. I’ve known a few that have let their success go to their heads and they get bitchy. Though I’ve always managed to keep my own head and turn a few of them around. 69 Bottles is the first extremely successful band I’ve had the privilege of working with, so I guess we’ll see how this goes.
Zoey: I’m so excited for you. I really hope this journey turns into something you wont forget. Once this story is written, I plan on publishing this interview, you know to help build up the hype. You’ve met the band already, so what do you think we’re going to enjoy along this journey?
Addison: Well, Dex is quite the character. He’s cocky as fuck. Pardon my French. (she laughs) But I have a feeling his junk is going to get him into trouble. Mouse is quiet, but I think he’s what I like to call a sleeper. Strong and silent, but he’s the guitarist, I mean come on. (she giggles) Peacock is, well he’s the mystery. I look forward to trying to unravel what he’s got inside his head. Kyle (she pauses) well, there’s something about him that makes him familiar, though no matter how hard I try and figure it out, it’s eluding me right now. Not to mention the fact that he’s ridiculously attractive, I’m having trouble concentrating around him.
Zoey: So what everyone is dying to know, what about Talon?
Addison: (blushes) Talon is gorgeous. I just want to run my fingers through his hair and my tongue along his jaw.
Zoey: Addison (I scold her)
Addison: What? He’s damn gorgeous.
Zoey: (laughs) yes he is. I’m not sure I can concentrate around him. I’m suppose to interview him too.
Addison: good luck with that one Zoey. I suggest you come up with your questions first.
Zoey: (laughing still) Yeah, I’m going to have to figure out something. Addison, this has been so much fun, thank you for taking time out of your busy day for me. I look forward to our long chats coming up over the next few weeks.
Addison: It was great to meet you, I’m looking forward to our journey, oh and some book recommendations.
Zoey: (smiles) you got it girl! Thank you so much, I had fun.
Addison: I did too, thank you Zoey.

25 Days to Claiming Addison…An Interview with…
In 25 short days, Claiming Addison will be popping up on Kindles, Nooks, iPads, and e-readers everywhere. With only 25 days left to go, the tables have turned and Zoey sits down with 69 Bottles Lead Singer Talon Carver for a one on one interview. Only this time, Talon is asking the questions.
Zoey: Hi Talon. Oh my god YOU SHAVED?! *she squeaks*
Talon: OHMIGOD, no I trimmed. *we both laugh*
Zoey: Whatever…you look great. How are you?
Talon: **I smirk at her** nice try Zoey, this is my interview.
Zoey: **she laughs** I suppose you’re right, but I cant ask how you are? It’s been so long since we’ve chatted.
Talon: How about we wait until after the interview? Then I can fill you in on all that’s been happening.
Zoey: Sounds fair to me. Fire away.
Talon: What brought you into our story?
Zoey: Well you did. In a way. I was working on another book and I think that I just needed a break from it, then Cami showed up, told me she had a story for me, and then you came, sat down, crossed your legs in front of me and said we needed to talk. After I wiped the drool from my chin, we started talking.
Talon: **I laugh** I remember that. You were rather speechless.
Zoey: It might have helped if you hadn’t been naked when you sat down in front of me.
Talon: I had to make sure I got your attention.
Zoey: You certainly did that.
Talon: What can I say? I wanted you to tell our story. So what was it like, writing our story?
Zoey: **she smiles wide** Hot, steamy, sexy, and so much fun. You, Addison, and Kyle were one of my biggest challenges because there are three of you, not just two. Plus you have so many people around you, like the band, plus your bodyguards. I’m pretty sure I’ve left out a more than a few things, especially with Rusty.
Talon: **I cock my head at her** Why Rusty?
Zoey: **she shrugs** I think he had a bigger part to play in the story, but after Dallas, he just kind of faded into the background, unintentionally of course.
Talon: Do you see yourself writing Rusty’s story at some point?
Zoey: It’s possible, I haven’t thought about it too much, but he too deserves a happily ever after too.
Talon: That he does, so it’s something to think about then? **Zoey nods** What was your favorite part about writing Claiming Addison?
Zoey: The challenge of it. Introducing all the great characters, discovering who Addison is, what Kyle’s all about and digging into your secrets were so much fun. But I think Vegas is my favorite part. **she winks at me**
Talon: Ah, yes, Vegas. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that. This was your first time hanging out with a rock band, what did you enjoy most and least about it?
Zoey: It was my first time, and it’s something I’m excited to do again. I’d have to say my favorite part was getting to know the band. I spent so many hours chatting with everyone and it was so much fun learning about each one of them. Then of course the concerts were always amazing. My least favorite part? Sleeping on the couch. You guys are not quiet when you get up. I lost more sleep then I gained, but then again, I spent a lot of all night binge writing sessions. It was usually the only time I could write what I’d learned that day. But I have to say, in the end, it was all worth it. **she smiles wide**
Talon: So what’s next for you Zoey?
Zoey: Oh I don’t know. I pushed off another story to write yours, so maybe I will get back to that one sooner then I thought. In fact I might have to because Dex isn’t talking to me as much as he once was. I think he’s mad at me.
Talon: **I snort a laugh** I doubt he’s mad at you.
Zoey: **she laughs** I wouldn’t be to sure about that. I think he’s mad because I didn’t sleep with him.
Talon: **I laugh again** Yeah, he’s notorious for shit like that. But he eventually gets over it. Maybe you should tell him he has a chance at his own happily ever after. **she laughs again** Well, you never know, he might finally find one and settle down.
Zoey: Oh I think he’ll do that eventually, but we will have to see.
Talon: Alright, so Claiming Addison comes out in 25 days…
Zoey: I know I’m so excited.
Talon: **I smile at her** What else do you have coming up for our fans?
Zoey: Ahh, well, the tables will turn. I’m finally going to publish the interviews I did with you, Kyle, Addison and the conversations I had with the band and bodyguards before we took off on the tour. Plus I have a mountain of giveaways coming just after the first of the year, right before the tour starts.
Talon: That’s awesome. Well Zoey, as always it’s been a pleasure talking to you. I cant wait to do it again when Craving Talon comes out. **I wink at her** You know that’s my favorite book.
Zoey: **she laughs** I think you’re bias.
Talon: Maybe a little **I smirk** But things really start to heat up on the bus during Craving Talon, which as you know, is my favorite part.
Zoey: I do know and it’s also one of my favorite books. But your fans need to discover book 1 first.
Talon: Thanks for putting up with my questions, I’m usually on the other side of this, so I have no clue what to ask.
Zoey: I think you did a great job. Thank you so much for doing this. I hope our fans enjoy it just as much.

Teaser Tuesday!! Claiming Addison – 69 Bottles Book 1
Are you ready for a tease?
For the last month, I have been hard at work on this new Trilogy and I’m excited to finally share a sneak peek into what it is that’s coming your way. While there is no release date yet, I can assure you that your wait will not be long.

I go back into the main cabin of the bus. Dex, Talon, Kyle and Peacock are sitting around the tables in the ‘dining room’ and the one I haven’t met yet is working on his bunk. I come to stand next to him and he stops dead in his tracks, staring at my black peep toe pumps and deep purple nail polish on my toes. I watch, with a smirk, as his eyes slide up my exposed legs in a very slow provocative manner. I roll my eyes and shake my head. I hear a bunch of laughter coming from the couch and I chuckle.
“Forget it man, she’s got iron knees.” I hear Dex say.
“Only for you.” I tease back at him, resisting the undeniable urge to stick my tongue out at him. My burst at Dex brings on another round of laughter from the guys.
I’m still waiting for Mouse’s eyes to finally reach mine or for him to stand up, but instead I watch his palm twitch like he’s desperate to touch me as his eyes continue raking up my frame. “Well, what do we have here?” He says, and in an instant, I understand why he’s called ‘Mouse’. His voice is higher than it should be for a man of his size. Frankly I’m surprised he can fit between the bunks and the wall of the bathroom crouched down like he is. I can also tell that he isn’t anywhere near as built as the rest of the guys in the band and if I had to guess, he’s barely six feet tall.
Finally his eyes meet mine. “Enjoy the view?” I raise my eyebrows at him, then watch as he swallows hard, but all he can manage is a slight nod. “I’m Addison.” I hold my hand out to shake his and watch as the fire in his eyes smolders briefly then fades away. He stands and I see I was right, he’s not that much taller than I am, in fact we’re nearly eye to eye, but the four inch heels I’m wearing are helping that.
“Pleasure to meet you.” He says with a sly smirk and I fight the urge to roll my eyes.
“She’s rather hypnotic isn’t she.” I hear one of the guys say, though I don’t know their voices well enough to decipher whether it was Kyle or Talon who spoke.
“You boys seriously need to get laid.” I tease them all.
“We’re trying.” They all spout back in unison and just like that the sexual tension explodes on the bus and I know without a doubt that I’m screwed, big time.
“My eyes are up here buddy.” I say to Mouse and he shakes himself out of his trance.
“Sorry.” He says rather sheepishly. “I’m trying to decide which I want to lick more, your slit or that beautiful bust…”
“Jesus Mouse, knock it off. Ya’ll are a bunch of damn pigs.” I hear someone say, not seeing who said it, judging by the tone, I’m assuming it’s Talon. My judgment is confirmed when he stands up and stalks towards us, grabbing Mouse’s shoulder. “Seriously, back off.”
“A bit testy aren’t we mate. Staking her for yourself?” Mouse raises his eyebrows at him.
“No, she’s a woman, she’s here to do a job and she deserves our respect. She’s been on this bus for all of twenty minutes and every single one of us has already eye fucked her at least once. You’ve had your turn, now shove off. We have a meeting.”
I smile at Talon’s act of chivalry, but I can’t say I’m fooled. I sense a hint of jealousy in his push off and I wonder exactly where that’s coming from. Then again, like he said, they’ve all tried to eye fuck me since I boarded. For some reason, the idea of them all lusting after me sends a thrill straight up my spine.
“Alright boys. Let’s get this over with. A few rules.” They all take a seat except for Kyle who remains leaning against the counter in the kitchen. “First of all, I’m not your mother. I won’t tell you what to do or when to do it, but if you step out of line, get your dick stuck in something you shouldn’t, I will be the first to jump your ass. I am here for your protection and more than anything else, I’m here to keep your noses clean and out of the tabloids. Which, based off of my introduction to you all, is going to be more work than I ever imagined.” I look at all the guys, their eyes are pinned on me, but ironically enough, not on my lady bits.
“I won’t get in your way, I’m here to help in any way I can.” I look at Kyle when I say that, trying to convey that I will help him with things unrelated to PR work.
Dex lets out a hot whistle. “Except for the pinky between your legs Dex.” I tell him. That garners some whooping from the rest of the guys, but Dex looks pissed. I smirk.
“It aint no pinky sweetheart, it’s an anaconda.” He bites back.
I snort. “Please, any man who refers to his junk as an anaconda obviously has a pinky in there.”
He stands up, grabbing his belt buckle. “Want me to show you?”
Kyle pushes him back into his seat. “Knock it off.”
“She started it.” Dex argues back with him.
“Great what are we five?” I snark back at him. “I am not here to service your dick Dex, I am here to keep your nose clean and help you make a name for yourself.”
“Yeah, whatever.” He sulks.

Friday Fun! One Week – Chapter One!
ONE WEEK is all it will take…
A week in Las Vegas and she will feel better about herself. At least that is what Dacotah Miller is hoping will be the case.
Left at the alter, heart broken and ashamed, Dacotah takes the opportunity offered by her girlfriends – the chance to get away. The opportunity to escape her mundane life in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin.
But what Dacotah doesn’t know is that lurking in Las Vegas is the chance of a lifetime, a dream come true, in the form of Derek Hunter.
Derek, in town on business, can’t seem to focus on his purpose once Dacotah walks into his field of vision. She beautiful and just what he needs to cure his desire for a good woman in his bed. Only she presents a challenge to him unlike anything he’s ever experienced before.
Dacotah will be wrapped up in a whirlwind of unexpected events that will force her to make a decision, life changing choice. Does she get on the plane back to boring Wisconsin and wonder what might have been? Or will she step on board a private jet that promises to take her on a journey she will never forget?
***** Content Warning *****
This book contains explicit sex, language and an indecent proposal from a billionaire. Story contains strong BDSM themed scenes and is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.
You’re Going…
“Cotah, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Rachel places her hands on my shoulders, like she is ready to shake some common sense into me.
“Rach, seriously? I can’t.”
“Why not? You have nothing holding you here. Nothing,” she says with emphasis. “He’s an idiot. He gave up a good, sure thing for some ho from the wrong side of the tracks. You need to get over it, and Vegas is a great place to do just that.” Rachel knows what to say to crawl under my skin.
Jason and I broke up only a couple weeks ago. When I caught him in the bathroom, during our rehearsal dinner, with that bitch Jessica. I will never forget that night, and right now I feel as though I will never get over it.
Jason and I had been together since our junior year in high school. Twelve years together, and he wasted it sticking his dick in some chick two nights before our wedding.
“I am over it,” I blurt out, but Rachel’s face scrunches up at me and I know she can tell I’m lying.
“Don’t give me that bullshit. When was the last time you even left the house?”
“Uh, this morning. I’m here aren’t I?”
“Jesus, Cotah, your house is right next door. Nice try.”
“I go to work, don’t I?”
“Oh hell, so what? We all do that.” She finally lets go of my arms and goes into the kitchen. She grabs a beer from the fridge, pops the top and slides it across the counter to me. She returns to the fridge to grab one for herself. I look at my watch; it’s ten thirty in the morning. “Seriously. We’re going. You, me and Mandy; no ifs, ands or buts about it.” She takes a drink of her beer. “We leave tomorrow morning.”
“What?” I freeze as the beer spews from my mouth. “Rach, I can’t, I have to work tomorrow.”
“Fuck that place, tell them you quit.”
“Oh yeah, then what the hell am I going to do when we get back?” Rachel just shrugs and gives me a look that says who-gives-a-flying-fuck.
“Worry about it when we get back. Hell Cotah, you have no bills, you live in your grandmother’s house which she left you free and clear. I know damn well you have money in the bank, otherwise you’d be working more than twenty-five hours a week at some lame pizza joint in the middle of Podunk fucking nowhere.”
She’s right, of course. My grandmother left me a small fortune when she died a little over a year ago. I have no family left anymore, and it is just me, myself and I. Lest we forget Mandy and Rachel; two of the only people in this world that mean anything to me.
“Dacotah, you’ve never done anything for yourself. You’ve always done everything for everyone else. It’s time to give up on doing things for everyone, and take action for yourself. Now, let’s go do this and have a great time.”
She has a point. Up until my grandmother died, I’d spent the previous two years taking care of her and working when I could. Maybe it is my fault that Jason cheated on me; I was never around, we hardly ever went out and did anything. He was always so supportive, but in hindsight, I understand why.
By supporting me, he was able to hide the fact that he was cheating on me. After what happened, I’m certain Jessica wasn’t the first woman he’s cheated with.
“You’re twenty-eight years old, you’re single, and you have nothing to lose but the chance to have a great time.”
“Rachel, I…”
“Stop thinking about it. Go home, pack up some clothes, and get ready to go. Mandy and I will be at your house tomorrow morning at seven; we’ll drive into Minneapolis and hop a plane to Vegas. It’ll be Friday and we will get there in plenty of time to start partying it up on the strip.”
“Who’s paying for all this?”
She gives me a half smile. “I paid for your airfare. We’ll have to split the cost of the room, and each pay for our own expenses.”
“What happens if I don’t go?”
“Then I’m out three hundred bucks on your non-refundable ticket.”
There it is, the guilt trip that Rachel is notorious for. “I’ll pay for my ticket.”
“I’d rather you just come with us.” She takes a big long chug of her beer then crushes the can in her hand and throws it away. I roll my eyes.
Rachel is a beautiful girl, but redneck is the best word to describe her. She has long chocolate brown hair, brown eyes, and an amazing body. Years of throwing bales of hay around the barn have done her proud. She’s skinny as a rail, looks great in anything she wears and has no problems getting laid. She is about five-seven and her waist looks tiny when she stands next to me.
I’m about five-eight, with long dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and hips that seem to go on for days and complete the hour glass figure that I have. I’m not entirely overweight, but I love my curves. I wasn’t always like this, I used to be Rachel skinny, but over the years, my hips have gotten a little wider, my butt a little rounder and my boobs, well, let’s just say that they are more than a good handful.
“Well?” Rachel interrupts my thoughts.
“Well, what?” I snap, unintentionally. Thinking about my weight and my own insecurities always makes me edgy. But Rachel doesn’t flinch at my tone.
“You’re still standing here.”
“Did you want me to leave?” I ask her, deadpan.
“Only if you’re going to go pack. Otherwise, you can stand here until I convince you to go.”
Ugh! I finally realize what’s the harm in going? I can call Pete and tell him that I need to take a few days off. In fact, I would’ve been doing just that anyway if I hadn’t walked out on Jason. It’s only a week. She can get it out of her system, and leave me alone about getting on with my life.
I put my beer down on the counter. I’ve taken maybe three sips of it. Beer is not my favorite, especially this early in the morning.
I turn on my heels and walk out the front door. Behind me Rachel squeals with delight and I can hear her jumping up and down as the screen door slams shut.
I’ve been trying for more than three hours to find clothes to take to Vegas, but I have nothing. Everything I own either looks frumpy or smells like a pizza joint, or they’re old, faded, and in less desirable condition. I do have two decent pairs of jeans and a couple of tops, but that’s it. I wonder if Rachel and Mandy wouldn’t mind a shopping trip in Vegas. In fact, I know Mandy would be delighted. She’s a shopaholic and I have no doubt that shopping is already on the agenda.
Around two, I call Pete, my boss. “Hey Pete, it’s Dacotah.”
“What’s up?” Pete’s a really nice guy; he’s owned that restaurant since just out of high school when his dad retired.
“I need to take the next week off.”
“Uh, Dacotah, you’re not on the schedule for next week.”
“What?” I can’t hide the shock, Rachel.
“You were, um…” he hesitates long enough for me to realize what he is implying without saying it and it all makes sense now. I was supposed to be on my honeymoon this week.
“You don’t need me to come in, do you?” I ask in vain as I know the answer to the question.
“Nope, we’re all set here,” he says back, avoiding the obvious.
“I get it, okay, thanks Pete.”
“No problem.” He hangs up.
“Well, I guess I won’t be losing my job by running away to Vegas.” There is a disappointed feeling that comes with the call and knowing that my last excuse has run out. I realize that I’d been hoping that Pete would need me this week so I could stay. What’s the point in staying?
I pack up the few things that I have to take with me, get my bathroom stuff together, at least the stuff I won’t need in the morning before we leave, and I’m about to head downstairs, with my suitcase in tow, when the doorbell rings. I pause. Rachel or Mandy would just walk right in; they both have keys, not that I lock the door often.
The suitcase clatters loudly behind me as it slides down each step. I’m thankful that I have a decent small, modern suitcase. Something I’d bought in preparation for going to Florida for our supposed honeymoon. When I reach the bottom of the steps, I pull the suitcase near the door and look through the window to see who is ringing my doorbell for the third time.
“Shit,” I reach for the knob and swing the door wide open, nearly knocking my suitcase over. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
