People in BBC’s Sherlock keep claiming that they are not what people think they are. I thought it would be interesting to see those quotes together. These are all the quotes that I could find that refer to a protest regarding other people’s perception of the speaker. I have excluded obvious jokes, terms of expression and when John is mistaken for Sherlock in The Blind Banker.
(I know it says “I’m not” in the caption, but I don’t mean that literally. People say that a lot!)
So, here you go @isitandwonder, another one!
Thanks, again, to @callie-ariane for the transcripts. We’d be lost without our transcriber.
oh.My.God! You are such a clever, creative person! This is way better than anything I could have wished for. Well done… ‘I’m not…’
Denial is such an interesting point of analysis.
Awesome graphic.

guys do you remember how they set up james sholto as sherlock’s mirror in the episode of john’s wedding and had a knife planted in his insides right from the start so that he could be literally dying internally for every second of it while maintaining a composed façade so that john wouldn’t see it until the very end?
d’you reckon they were trying to tell us something?

DEAD, UNDEAD & HALLOWEEN FIC REC’s
(Mostly Johnlock)
The Haunting of 221B Baker Street by earlgreytea68 , 2 chapters. In which Sherlock is a ghost. (Major character death of course.) Sherlock is dead, but haunting John. He can’t let go. Post Reichenbach fic – with angst, feels, and even some spectral sexytimes. An interesting combo. Thumbs up!
Most Ghosts Are Idiots by GoldenUsagi , 18 k. The one where Sherlock is already dead but hits it off with John anyway. John returns from Afghanistan later than he did in canon and rents a long vacant flat in Baker Street. But it has a few problems, he discovers, namely the ghost of Sherlock Holmes! (Major character death.)
Final Hours by bendingsignpost 7 k. (Ghost story, major character death.) Sherlock Holmes has waited on the other side for quite awhile for John to join him. Finally, that day has come. Angsty and more bro’s than romance, but still touching and sweet
The Afterlife of Doctor John H. Watson by flawedamythyst 31 k. This is an ACD Holmes and Watson fic. (Major character death.) After John is suddenly struck down by a stroke, his ghost is unable to let go, lingering to haunt Sherlock Holmes. This was super sad as Watson spends years observing Holmes without being able to contact him before he catches the knack of it. Well written with lots of ACD canon explored, but Oh my heart, the angst was high!
Breaking Point by argyle4eva, 7 k. When a werewolf and a vampire move in together, it’s inevitable that the sparks (and fur!) will eventually fly! Sherlock/John “first time” fic in the Being Sherlock ‘verse. Minor violence and bloodletting. (Also sex.) Part 11 of Being Sherlock series
The Curious Wine by songlin , 8 chapters, 15 k. A vampire and a werewolf looking for flatmates move in together. This story has “getting to know you,” and case fic, feels, and sexy times as Vampirelock and WereJohn work things out between them. Despite being AU, it feels very true to the timbre of the show and the characters with an achingly lyrical sensuality as the romance unfolds. Part of the Powerful, Beautiful and Without Regret series.
Mate by VelvetMace , Mystrade. 15 k. Vampire Mycroft is certain he’s found his mate in one DI Gregory Lestrade. How frustrating that instead of simply falling under his spell, the man has some ideas of his own. Sherlock plays a fabulous pouty little brother and a sort of go-between match-maker for the two. Fabulous comedy of errors as Mycroft and Greg come to an agreement. Just Lovely.
A Priori by rubberbutton, 6 k. - first of a three part series. (White Noise, Symbiosis) In a world ruled by Vampires attended by their human slaves, Vampire Sherlock Holmes buys a cut-rate doctor just to annoy his brother. Amidst political turmoil as a human resistance force gains strength, John and Sherlock become something more to each other than simply servant and master. Great world building for this AU, and lovely relationship feels. Rated teen. Thumbs up!
open secret by dashcommaslash,
This is the one where John is a vampire. Almost 2 k. Kinky PWP little
bdsm short about Sherlock deducing that John is a vampire during a
scene. Hurts so good.
Bump in the Night by szm 3 k. Monsterlock. Most children fear the monster under their bed. John makes friends with his. His name is Sherlock. Kidlock and Monster fluff – is this a thing? It is now.
The Haunting of Sherlock Holmes by MapleleafCameo - 9 chapters, John is a ghost haunting Sherlock’s holiday home. Sherlock is determined to discover who and what John is. Ghost/not ghost, ancient prophesy, witches, and spells. Very interesting … Check it out.
The Master of Latham Hall by Kryptaria story, case fic, Johnlock. 11 chapter, 47 K. Rated teen. A ghost story-casefic that brings John and Sherlock to some important realizations, after 10 years together. Slightly AU, not compliant with series 3. Can be read as asexual!Sherlock or platonic life partners.
Gods of the Dark Half by alexxphoenix42, 16 chapters. Historical AU. Sherlock decides that John is working too hard and needs a holiday. Although mingling isn’t his thing, Sherlock agrees to solve the case of a haunted manor while attending a house party – that kills two birds with one stone, doesn’t it? Magical historical AU that blends Regency romance, polyamory, bdsm, ghost stories and Halloween and Samhain lore. Much more funny and sexy than actually creepy. I wrote this, go read it! XP
The Halloween Party by XistentialAngst – 3 chapters. Sherlock and John attend a Halloween party on the trail of a vampire killer – a man who’s been seducing his victims and taking all their blood. Sexy costumes, bad puns, hideous danger, frantic sex in hidden places and some Halloween-flavored fluff are all on hand to “treat” you. Boo.

![]()
Imagine if we go “back” to Watson Domestic, because that’s where we last saw reality (?!) …..and then the scene continues. “Remember where we left them” - Mary and John left alone at Baker St as Sherlock is wheeled away to hospital. What happens next? What would Mary’s next move be? Sherlock went to all that effort to placate Mary because he knew he was about to fall unconscious, and knew he wouldn’t be able to help from there onwards. So John really does need to go along with Sherlock’s plan of “trusting” Mary, because Sherlock knew that was the only way to keep John safe. But….surprise!! John doesn’t necessarily need Sherlock to keep him safe - he’s pretty god damn smart, and maybe he comes up with his own scheme to both placate Mary, and take care of things himself while Sherlock sleeps. I wrote a thing ages ago about the rule of three, and that this is the third time that Sherlock has lied to John, but the first time John has figured it out. If he’s figured it out, then that also means he doesn’t just need to go along with Sherlock’s insane “trust Mary” plan, because he knows what Sherlock’s intentions were (“who would he bother protecting?….OH!”), and therefore he knows what he needs to do. Before I believed in EMP, I was sure that the whole “pretty damn smart” thing obviously meant that John had a scheme during the missing months.
And if that scheme was the same as what Sherlock was going for (make sure Mary thinks we trust her so she won’t be forced to play her next move), then John would have needed to put that plan into place right about ….
here:
![]()
![]()
If he was going to fool Mary into believing that he bought Sherlock’s story, he would have needed to start right this second.
THAT was the big problem with the Christmas reconciliation - Sherlock almost died to reconcile the two of them, because he knew that Mary was only in danger from her enemies if she didn’t stay with John, and therefore she was only truly placated if she stayed with John. And then…..what?? They’ve been separated for months? Then what the hell was the point of Sherlock dragging his dying arse out of hospital for all that?
Wow, this is getting good - because look at Mary here. She’s ….frightened. She’s searching John’s face desperately for a sign that she’s safe. She needs John to stay with her, or she’s fucked. And if he doesn’t? What’s her next move? What will John do? Oooh, and that makes this the real proper cliffhanger. In fact, as a cliffhanger, it almost mirrors the last moments of TGG. It’s a stand-off! John and Mary might as well have guns pointed at each other.

Good post. I do hope they come back to this
moment. You’re right, leaving it here and skipping ahead by months is so awkward. There’s way too much critical character and
plot info that’s just dropped.

John misinterprets BBC Sherlock too
@hobbitbilbo just made a beautiful perfect gifset and I am very excited because it’s one of the most metafictional scenes in the show:
![]()
I cannot tell if John is watching the exact same footage we see in The Empty Hearse but it’s close enough. John is literally watching BBC Sherlock here.
And John misinterprets it. One can’t blame him for focusing in on “Magnussen tried to kill me” rather than “Sherlock saved me”, but it’s the latter that’s most important in the long run, both to the show and to John. This moment right here is everything that’s painful about the show and especially this series: the way that everybody but John sees “how [Sherlock] cares about John Watson”.
And why does John, our symbolic Fan, misinterpret Sherlock? Trust issues. Trust issues stemming from a homophobic culture in which queer love is used against the people who feel it – which is exactly what Magnussen’s doing to John and Sherlock in this scene.
Edited to add: @redpeacoat3 makes a nice catch that in one of the gifs, John turns to stare at Sherlock, not Magnussen:
![]()
So perhaps John’s making multiple readings of the text, but the positive reading focused on Sherlock’s feelings for John is being obscured - both literally and figuratively - by Magnussen.
Magnussen literally UNVEILS John and Sherlock in the above gif. CAM states very clearly where John and Sherlock’s priorities lie; Sherlock’s is John Watson and John’s is Mary. We know that John’s ‘repressed’ priority is Sherlock, that fact leaks out of John in dreams, actions [running to be with Sherlock whenever he can] and his preoccupation with Sherlock even when not in his presence [the scene at the start of HLV with the neighbour] Now CAM knows this too, but he also recognises John’s need to conform and that is embodied in the marital role with Mary. John is prioritising the ‘norm’ over Sherlock. As are the viewers with het relationships versus queer ones. Hundred’s of fans left the fandom after HLV, it felt wrong, almost a betrayal; why would John prioritise Mary?. It was painful. The TRUST ISSUES are ours. Right from the beginning the writers gave us this prediction; we will have trust issues as to where this show, and the rhetoric surrounding it, was headed. It would be a dichotomy of public relations versus product, text versus subtext. Just as John struggles with his trust of Sherlock and everything that entails, many fans struggle with their trust of this show. The bonfire metaphor, seen in TEH and then here in HLV, shows both Sherlock and John engulfed in flames, they are burning for each other. It’s so obvious yet invisible, the trust issues get in the way of seeing clearly what is right in front of our eyes. Great post @delurkingdetective, got my juices flowing as always.
Sherlock: A Romance
Hi Steph! I wanted to show you this, because I don’t really write meta but I was eager to get this out there where some of you brilliant TJLC scholars and meta-physicists may see it. :)
![]()
Debates have long raged over whether or not BBC Sherlock is a romance story. Well, if it is, it’s rather easier to prove than one might think.
Romance is incredibly formulaic in the world of writing. Seriously. Romance novelists build their outlines around a very strict framework, and seasoned readers of the romance genre instinctively know when the formula isn’t being followed correctly- because when it’s not, the story ends up being crap.
Virtually every big, popular, successful romance story told in the last hundred years follows this structure, or one very similar to it. The plot follows a series of “beats” that direct the drama and emotion of the story, particularly the relationship between the main characters. So, if BBC Sherlock is a romance then we should be able to plot the show’s character arcs and emotional states against these beats, and if they are telling a romance with these two, it should all line up as expected.
So, does it?
I have a vast behemoth of a post sitting in my Drafts folder (that probably will never be finished because it’s just too sodding long) where I’ve been going through the entire show, plot point by plot point, to discover whether we’re watching a story unfold to the beats of a romance. And guess what? It so bloody does.
You can probably just look at the beat descriptions and figure out for yourselves what fits where, but I’ll try to give an abridged version:
Right now, after TAB, we’re entering the beginning of Act Three. We’ve already had our two pinch points (NB: A “pinch point” is an important event that reminds the viewer/reader of the threat or enemy that’s standing in the way of our OTP, i.e. Moriarty): The first was the Pool, and the second was the Fall. In between them was the Midpoint, and this was covered nicely by ASiB and HoB.
We’ve experienced most of the Crisis beat by now, and are thus at the tail end of Act Two: Mary has torn them apart. Sherlock made a terrible sacrifice with dire consequences, and there seems to be no hope of returning to what they once had together. Then, during TAB, Sherlock comes to the realisation that he must overcome his Identity (his flaws, his damage) in order to move forward with John and fix what’s been broken between them.
Act Three will play out across S4 and S5. What should we be expecting, then?
As we move into S4, we should be expecting to get some more of the Crisis beat (fear, and a retreat to the familiar, the Identity, the stubborn self that refuses to change) followed by the beginnings of the Climax. Over S4 we’ll see “The protagonists summon the courage to overcome their inner demons obstacles and remove their emotional armor with the other.”
John is still a little behind Sherlock in the area of emotional development, so that’s something we’ll definitely be seeing early in S4: John shucking his Identity and meeting Sherlock halfway. Something dramatic will occur that demonstrates to us how neither of them could bare to lose the other, that they can’t continue without each other (coughgarridebscough).
That leaves S5, whose job it will be to show us final confirmation that the best, happiest, most complete possible outcome for these two is to be together in 221b. They will achieve their Essence; their completed state, healed and whole. They’ll get there, finally, and we’ll see just how perfect an ending it can be.
I hope this was informative and interesting! I’ve never written something like this before. Sorry if it’s too long and boring. :)
(submitted by @doomsteady)
Ah, I love all of this, lovely!! It’s a nice play on my Sherlock’s Narrative Arc mini meta!
Oh lovely! Looks like @doomsteady, @inevitably-johnlocked and @archipelagoarchaea are on similar ground. I’m on mobile so can’t link, but archi.. has done extensive work on this, check it out if you haven’t already.
And I’d love to see the longer meta, if doomsteady finishes it.
Yep, this is the exact primary source I used for my arc meta. :)
Okay, maybe I should expand a tiny bit. My explanation for John being a little behind Sherlock was that there are actually two separate plot arcs: Sherlock’s “humanization” and Moriarty arc (four seasons) and John’s anti-heteronormative romance arc (five seasons). This reading helped a looot, because I felt like I was finding repeating beats. I was! John’s beat always follows (and mirrors) Sherlock’s, because his arc is longer. This math also led me to the conclusion that Sherlock’s arc will wrap up in S4, but that John will reach his crisis at the same time. I have no specific “consummation” predictions based on these arcs, but for a variety of reasons expect we’ll get consummation in S4. John’s arc suggests that he’ll end with a wedding (or equivalent), not consummation.
Uh. I should probably stop talking now.
OMG @archipelagoarchaea!!! NO WORRIES AT ALL!! I’m SO happy you added your own stuff to this, and never ever stop :) I like figuring out where everyone else gets their inspirations, so thank you so much for your additions!! :D

The Three Garridebs: A S4 promo picture summery
I’ve been chewing on the promo picture for a while now, and I
thought, why not put 7 years of art school and art courses to use here? :D
so here is a speculative meta on the symbolism of the first S4 promo picture. I very much hope this has not been done before!
In short, what the promo picture points to is that,And as for a more descriptive analysis, it’s pretty long, so I’m
putting this under a read more for convenience. Apologies to people on mobile!
I’m afraid this interpretation is valid. This is basically the vibe I get from the pic a that John has his own agenda and is as far from Sherlock as he’s ever been. I just hope it isn’t all 3 episodes because I can’t take another long hiatus wait (if ever) for some kind of positive resolution of their relationship.
Combined with Moffat’s comments about not delaying gratification, and not knowing for sure there will be a S5, I really hope that they give us some reuniting and resolution (and hopefully a love confession and kiss) by the end of S4E3, even if much of S4 is angsty. It just seems
Foolhardy to wait any longer given how much they’ve had to fight against a premature johnlock reveal even now, and how the window for them doing something truly groundbreaking is closing if they don’t do it soon.

The maid pops out at the EXACT moment that Watson is being all smug about recognizing that “Hooper” wasn’t a man, but a woman disguised as a man.
Big laughs in the theatre, but people were laughing for the wrong reason. Holmes’s shiteating grin gives it away: he’s the maid, and Watson failed to recognize him.
@bigassmoustache I thought you might enjoy a pictorial confirmation of our new favourite theory!
Shameless reblob paging @sherlocks-gay-ass @gaybrunchthreepwood @the-virus-in-the-data @waitingforgarridebs @the-abominable-bee and I wish I could tag @teapotsubtext and @camillo1978 but tumblr won’t let me. I’m screaming mostly by myself over here!
Especially tagging to thank @oldgrimalkin because if you hadn’t make the comment about the crypt, I wouldn’t have looked. BEHOLD IT IS BETTER THAN WE COULD HAVE IMAGINED.
I never noticed Sherlock’s smug little asshole grin, oh my god, this is perfect
What?!
RIGHT? Okay, so I thought the maid was just a Sherlock mirror, you know, because this show is full of mirrors.
![]()
But then I looked at the crypt scene and…wow. WOAH? Wow. That beat where the maid waves at Watson and he looks scandalized is such a *sad trombone noise* moment if it’s just a joke about Watson being, what, upset that his maid is there? No, it’s a joke on him. He’s figured out one thing and missed the important thing.
Our dads are playing with us. Hardcore. I don’t mean at our expense; I mean they are going full bore for us.
The fact that she is just so full of cheeky criticism about the state of their marriage, and that she pops up immediately after that weird apparent reconciliation moment where Watson says he thought he was losing Mary. Sherlock knows. He knows that marriage is rotten through and through.
@hubblegleeflower @just-sort-of-happened have I screamed at you about this yet?

JOHNLOCK - THE EARLY YEARS
***
There is simply no way to list EVERY single fabulous work written in the early years of the Sherlock fandom but here’s a hit or miss list of things I enjoyed …
***
The Blog of
Eugenia Watson by Mad_Lori,
95 k, gen. John and Sherlock are an adorable old married couple raising John’s
teen-aged daughter along with his ex-wife who lives in the flat next door.
Stellar characters, plot, and romance.
The Great
Sex Olympics of 221B by
XistentialAngst, 58 k, explicit. John and Sherlock have a bet on who knows more
about sex and devise a contest with people they find online willing to play.
PWP. Truly one of the hottest things ever written.
Faithful
Compass series by KeelieThompson1 (4 works) Uni!lock.
Sherlock meets a younger John while he is still in college. We get to see the
two mature together through John’s drinking and troubled home life, and
Sherlock’s drug use and shady dealings. Lots of angst and violence, great plot
and characters and smut. Some great new characters appear as John’s flatmates,
particularly Andrew Harrison. Thumbs up.
The First
and Last Trilogy by Phyona. A night at the pub with drinking games
leads to John waking up in Sherlock’s bed wondering WTF happened. A fever leads
to some sweet sick!fic and hot times in bed. A trip together helps them cement
this budding relationship.
The Paradox series
by Wordstrings. Sherlock POV. Crazy!lock. A crawl through Sherlock’s odd
brain as he and John connect. BDSM, blood sharing, kink and all kinds of
crazy. Dream sharing. Brilliant and
bizarre. Sweet in the creepiest of ways. What is sane, what is real, what is
love? This turns it all inside out in the most profound of ways. Wow.
The Road
Trip series by
stupid_drawings. Crack!fic –
absolutely LMFAO, ROTF stuff. Sherlock and John go on a road trip to solve a
crime with Lestrade, then others of the police force. The last fic ends with
some pretty heavy angst but I just pretend that “what to do when your flatmate
is homicidal” is a sequel.
What to do
When Your Flatmate is Homicidal by
hyacinth_sky747, 58 k, explicit. This work is divine silliness. Through a
stream of consciousness from Sherlock ostensibly writing in a diary, we see the
lives of John and Sherlock as they build a relationship together amidst the
insanity that is John and Sherlock. This
work is sweet, weird, sexy, adorable and addictive with lots of fluff, but
beware the bit of angst slipped in.
The Progress
of Sherlock Holmes by
ivyblossom, 62 k, explicit. Sherlock POV well done. Sherlock and John fumble,
and John leaves to marry Mary though Sherlock knows she will cheat. John and Mary
settle on a rocky, open relationship, and slowly John and Sherlock find their
way back together. Feels so in character with love, sex, and angst, angst,
angst.
Electric
Pink Hand Grenade by
BeautifulFiction, 67 k, explicit. Sherlock suffers cluster headaches that lead
to synesthesia, and John nurses him through it. Snuggles ensue.
Cooperative
Principle by bendingsignpost, 56 k,
explicit. Slight AU. A very angsty,
mind-fuckery courtship between John, a teacher at St. Barts, and the elusive,
cunning consulting detective who wants him. Some porn, and lots of angst. Did I
mention angst?
The Road
Less Traveled by
verityburns, 56 k, mature. Mycroft
inspires Sherlock to start Project Retention - make John fall in love with
Sherlock so he doesn’t marry some stupid woman and move away. Much angst, but
fluff and smut too. Very sweet.
Northwest
Passage by Kryptaria, 95 k, explicit. AU – John is retired from the Canadian army
living in an isolated homestead. An old
military connection, Mycroft Holmes, calls in a favor. He must house his
younger brother Sherlock while he detoxes from drugs. BAMF!John, PTSD, hunting,
flirting and sex – oh my.
There’s A
First Time For Everything by
kate_lear, 21 k, explicit. Wonderful background info on John and
Sherlock’s past as they negotiate a casual sexual relationship and tiptoe
toward a committed one. Hurtfic and violence, romance and porn. Has a 3
Garridebs moment as John bleeds in an alley. This is a GOOD one!
Maybe series by mildredandbobbin – 3 parts. Almost
heartbreaking angst. Post Reichenbach.
Sherlock at large checks in with Molly and hears that John’s pregnant
wife Mary died in a car accident six months earlier. Sherlock realizes John is
not okay, and decides to return. It’s very believable as they pick up the
pieces and build a beautiful life together. (locked to AO3 users)
The Cold
Song Series (6
parts) by Eldritchhorrors. Edgy,
BDSM, drug use, scary, amazing. Casefic. Much is explained about Sherlock when
we find out his childhood was shattered by a serial killer taking a family
member. Now, the killer is striking again, and Sherlock must deal with things
long locked away to solve the case. Sherlock only accesses his emotions through
music, but a BDSM relationship with John that is moving from sex into love is
healing Sherlock in ways he can’t comprehend. Philosophy, Buddhism, knife play,
opera as metaphor – a heady mix of crazy and sublime.
The Bang and
The Clatter by
earlgreytea68, 137 k, mature. Delightful AU with John and Sherlock as baseball
players. Sherlock is a hot young pitcher, and John is an old catcher on his
last year before retirement when they find themselves together on a new team.
Some plot, great character development, romance.
Ease Your
Way into Occupied Spaces by
joolabee, 11k , explicit. Prescient version of series 3 posted before the
series aired. An angsty, pining, infidelity fic that is beautiful in its pain.
Told from Sherlock’s POV.
Against the
Rest of the World by
SilentAuror, 151 k, explicit. Sherlock escapes a cell in Turkey to return to
London before he manages to destroy all of Moriarty’s network. John is engaged,
but choses to come with him to complete the mission. Pre-relationship to
relationship. Feels like a spy novel, achingly romantic.
Lacuna by coloredink, 15 k, explicit. Lacuna means a
blank spot or missing piece. John is back in 221B after an accident that leaves
him with amnesia. He and Sherlock deepen their relationship, as John struggles
to regain his memory from Before.
Imagines
Morti series (2
parts) by SwissMiss. Set in a
magical AU in which people’s life experiences spontaneously appear as tattoos
on their skin. John and Sherlock grow to know each other until Sherlock must
fake his death via Reichenbach.
Beauty
Shot by Mazarin221b, 4 k, explicit.
Sally discovers some of Sherlock’s old modeling pictures - including the ad he
did for Calvin Klein back in the 90s. John recognizes that ad, oh, does he
ever.
The Speed of Objects
in Motion by holyfant, 48 k word, explicit. This story
is an exquisite multi-year sweeping epic drama of John and Sherlock getting
together, breaking up, but always orbiting each other in all that they do. So
well written, with tons of angst, but light at the end of the tunnel. SO MUCH
ANGST.
Nothing
to Make a Song About by emmagrant01, 36 k, explicit. When Sherlock
returned from his faked death, John could not forgive him for the deception and
broke off their friendship. Ten years later, John returns to London in search
of yet another new beginning. Sherlock, not surprisingly, is waiting.
Oh wow, thank you so much for the rec! I saw this pass by on my dash several times but never actually noticed that one of my fics was included here. It’s so flattering to be included with all these greats!
What a great theme. I joined the Sherlock fandom after these were written, so it’s like receiving a boxed set of the classics. I’ve read almost all of them, and look forward to reading the rest. Thank you @alexxphoenix42, your lists continue to amaze and delight!
Thanks for the rec! I love all of these.
Sherlock - The moon is a shark
bug-catcher-in-viridian-forest:
THE MOON IS A SHARK
The upper part of the crescent in the Claire de la Lune bottle is separated by water from the lower part.
The part of the crescent above the water highly resembles a shark fin surfacing from the water (we already know that sharks are one of the main themes of s4).
![]()
![]()
MARY AS THE SHARK
Claire de la Lune being Mary’s perfume seems to indicate a tie between Mary and the shark theme, possibly with her being the shark herself.
2 FINS = 1 CRESCENT
If the upper part of the crescent is meant to be a shark fin above the water, the lower par of the moon could actually represent the fin reflected in the water.
![]()
So the shark might be in fact comprised by two people.
These would reprise the hybrid them from Doctor who’s series 9 (such references are very probable and already frequent, read Predictions based on Doctor Who).
Since the moon is composed by a fin and its reflection, this hybrid might be comprised by two character that mirror each other (either by being similar or by being both similar and opposite).
One example of two characters that would fit this description could be Sherlock and Mary.
As Redbeard too could possibly be an hybrid formed by two people (Red + Beard), the shark could possibly be the same set of characters.
