Don’t Dangle What I Can’t Have by Paty Jager
Have you ever notice that if you’re told you can’t have something you want it more? Like no chocolate or ice cream when you’re dieting. Or no more fatty foods when your cholesterol is up. Or worst of all, that man/woman isn’t for you. Leave them alone.
In my newest release, Brody: Letters of Fate, set in 1891 in Oregon, transports the hero, Brody Yates, from the New York City docks to a cattle and horse ranch in SE Oregon. He’s used theft for years, first to keep him and his mother fed, and later his neighbors. He stole one thing too many and ended up in jail.
A letter arrives that changes his life.
When he arrives at his grandfather’s ranch he discovers a beautiful young woman, his grandfather’s ward. Even though he’s angry over a past he had no control over and being hauled to his grandfather by a U.S. Marshal, he would have to be blind or dead to not see the young woman’s beauty . Even though his grandfather warns him not to dally with Lilah, he falls for her, knowing she plans to go back to the university.
Lilah Wells has lived her life around cowboys. She has nothing against them, but when the judge’s grandson arrives at the ranch in dock boots, wool pants, suspenders , a white cotton shirt, and spell-binding light blue eyes, her heart starts to waltz.
No matter how many things work to keep them apart, the two gravitate toward one another, and finally, their passion can’t be harnessed.
To discover some of the Oregon history behind the story go here.
Join Paty’s Posse to get deals on my new books and learn how to read my books for free.
Blurb:
Historical western filled with steamy romance and the rawness of a growing country.
A letter from a grandfather he’s never met has Brody Yates escorted across the country to work on a ranch rather than entering prison. But his arrival in Oregon proves prison may have been the lesser of two evils. A revenge driven criminal, the high desert, and his grandfather’s beautiful ward may prove more dangerous than anything he’s faced on the New York docks.
Lilah Wells is committed to helping others: the judge who’d taken her in years ago, the neighboring children, and the ranch residents, which now includes the judge’s handsome wayward grandson. And it all gets more complicated when her heart starts ruling her actions.

Her Hell Yeah Cowboy by Donna Michaels
Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s Donna Michaels, and I’m going to continue the trend of some of my fellow WAWC blogger sisters, because I’m also part of Sable Hunter’s Hell Yeah! Kindle World, and am excited to post about it today! I’m in the launch with an amazing group of authors–all of our books release August 11th!! Just about two weeks away.[image error]
My contribution is Her Hell Yeah Cowboy, a Harland County/Sable Hunter’s Hell Yeah! Kindle World crossover novella/Book 8/Logan. If you’ve read my Harland County Series, then you know Cole and Connor McCall. The hero in this crossover novella is their cousin from central Texas, Logan McCall.
Here’s the cover and blurb:
Years ago, he unknowingly rescued his soulmate, now she’s back in Texas and about to save his guarded heart.
*Cover photo by Cover Me Photography with Orestis Papapetrou
Blurb:
Unlike his twin, Texas National Guardsman Sgt. Logan McCall would rather march barefoot and blindfolded through a cow pasture than date the same woman twice. After an active duty injury during a flood washed away his promising sports career and engagement years ago, Logan guards his heart more than his life until, fresh from deployment, he runs into a friend of the McCoys…literally. Hill Country’s newest resident is hotter than the wing sauce soaking into his shirt.
Mission on.
Graphic designer and carrier of misfortune, Chloe Davis is a danger to herself and those around her, so entertaining thoughts for the sexy cowboy wearing her hot sauce should be a no-no…not a hell yeah—especially considering he’s the guardsman linked to a horrible instance in her past. But when he turns out to be one of her clients, she can no more avoid him than the attraction sizzling between them. Chloe’s back in Texas determined to make a fresh start, and she succeeds in business but fails to resist the handsome soldier’s relentless pursuit.
But when he discovers her past, will he trust his heart or lose her forever?

In case you missed it, Her Indulgent Cowboy/Harland County Series/Book 7/Jesse just released last month. Want to keep up with all of the book releases and authors in the Hell Yeah! KW? Then please join our Facebook Group.

Cadillac Cowboy – By Cynthia D’Alba
Howdy gang! Cynthia D’Alba here. Happy Sunday to everyone. Hope you have melted in this heat. Whew. Walking outside and taking a deep breath is like opening an oven door, isn’t it?
Last month I told you I was ready to get back on the writing horse (so to speak) and I did. On July 2, I met fellow authors Elle James, Parker Kincade and Mandy Harbin in the tiny town of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas for some serious writing time. This is our usual writers’ retreat week, only I had to cut it short for RWA National Conference. This year, I had to get a book done for Sable Hunter’s Hell Yeah Kindle World and I’m pleased to say I did!
I am thrilled to say that Cadillac Cowboy will be in the inaugural launch of the Hell Yeah Kindle World. So please put August 11 on your calendar because that’s the first day you can buy Cadillac Cowboy!
Here’s the blurb on the story…
A Texas lawman finds more than fall foliage during a drive in an antique convertible Cadillac to his new home.
New Texas cop Shade Gruber agrees to drive his grandmother’s prize car from Chicago to his new home in Whispering Springs. He expects some car issues. He doesn’t expect to pick up a runaway bride.
On the run from her mobster fiancé, Victoria Vaught dashes from the church thirty minutes before the I Do’s. Stranded in her bridal attire by an unreliable car, she starts walking, needing as far from Chicago as possible.
Their road to love is filled with twists, turns and bumps. Hanging on to the one you love can be roller coaster ride with surprising results.
I hope you find it funny and a little bit sexy!
So here’s question… Do you know what Kindle Worlds are? Have you ever bought a book that was part of a Kindle World?
Remember to leave a comment to be in this monthly gift card drawing!

Operation Cowboy and a #FREE chapter–Em Petrova
Happy Thursday, everyone! I’ve had a crazy summer with 4 kids home, trying to hit the word count and editing as a side hustle, and I’m sorry to say I missed the past two months of blogging here at the awesome Wild and Wicked Cowboys blog!
I’m here to share some ups and downs in the publishing industry, and one of them is about Samhain. They have all my Boot Knockers Ranch series, as well as my Country Fever series.
Recently they announced they were closing their doors, which devastated many of us authors! I’ve always loved Samhain–they’ve treated me well, given me amazing covers and the best editor in the world. Well, a few weeks ago, we got a surprise saying that lately the company had made some financial adjustments, that they are now viable and able to stay in business. All of this was reason to celebrate for me, especially since I had a book in the queue, ready to publish with them!
This book is near to my heart–I had so much strong emotion for these characters that for a week after I finished, I couldn’t even THINK of writing a new book. I officially had a book hangover. No, his was more like a BENDER!
Here’s a little about Kickin’ Up Dust, book 1 of the Operation Cowboy series:
Description
This Marine follows the rules. This cowgirl is all about breaking them.
Operation Cowboy, Book 1
After losing his best friend and CO, Matt, in combat, Brodie Bell didn’t think his spirits could sink any lower. He was wrong. One look at his and Matt’s storm-flattened hometown nearly levels him.
Los Vista needs a leader, and as Brodie takes the weight of the world on his shoulders, he comes up with a plan. Merge the two ranches left standing, pray for a good calving season…and keep his hands too busy to get busy with Matt’s sexy little sister.
Danica was in pigtails when Brodie and Matt went off chasing glory. Now she’s a woman with a broken heart, but if Matt knew of the depraved cravings Brodie ignites in her body, he’d haunt her from the grave.
As they work to mend miles of broken fences, Brodie fights to ignore Danica’s tiny cutoff shorts and mile-long legs—and to ignore the “weapon” that’s locked and loaded in his Levis. Because the last thing he wants is to dishonor his friend’s memory by ravishing the sweetest little cowgirl he’s ever laid eyes on.
Warning: Involves a sweet and sassy ranch girl who knows her way around a rope, and a Marine turned cowboy who’d like to tie her down and spank her until she begs for more.
I’ve been blessed with a lot of reviewers giving me great praise on this book, saying it’s the best of mine yet. I hope you’ll read a sample chapter and let me know your thoughts in the comments section!

An Upcoming Book Release – Hell Yeah!
Hey y’all! Maddie James here. And I’m pleased as punch to share that I’m going to be part of Sable Hunter’s Hell Yeah! Kindle World. I’ll be in the launch group with a fantastic group of authors–all of our books to release August 11. Yep, that’s just around the corner.
My book is titled Seducing Sarah, and although it is part of Sable’s Hell Yeah! World, I also consider this Book 2 in my Montana Heat series. If you read Corporate Cowboy, you might remember Gage’s ranch manager, Cole Stevens. Yep. Cole is the hero in this tale. Here’s the blurb and cover.
When Cole Steven’s travels from Montana to Texas to close a business deal with his old friend, Heath McCoy, he never expects to close in on a relationship, too. But with one brief moment of contact in the airport with a pretty young woman carrying a guitar, his heart starts to unravel.
Sarah McClendon, fresh out of the gate after landing the runner-up spot on American Star, is touted as one of the up-and-coming country music stars of the year. When she tangles with her manager at the Highlands Ranch annual barbecue—Cole steps up to the plate to protect her from the smarmy, poor excuse of a man.
But it’s just a weekend right? Cole will be back home on the ranch in Montana come Monday, and Sarah has a career to get off the ground. Can a love-at-first-sight weekend turn into the happily-ever-after each of them aren’t even sure they want?

Release date for Seducing Sarah is August 11. Be sure and watch my Facebook Page and website for more information. To keep up with all of the book releases and authors in the Hell Yeah! series, perhaps you will want to join this Facebook Group.

Join the party for a chance to WIN!
by Sidda Lee Rain
Hey ya’ll!
I hope your summer is going well. I’ve been a very busy girl in the garden and for the first time I’m canning pickles. And, I’ve made nearly a dozen loaves of different kinds of zucchini bread, I’ve made zucchini lasagna (delicious btw), zucchini fritters…I’m nearly zucchini’d out. Okay, enough with the zucchini, lets talk BOOKS!
I’d LOVE if ya’ll would join in my dual release party with Mizz Dorothy Shaw. Oh! And, INVITE others for a chance to win a $20 Amazon card!
We are both releasing a biker book soon-very soon. Hers a full length novel and mine a novella.
I decided to have a lil’ fun…the •Ignition Infantry MC Heir Sagas• has tropes galore, insta-love, alpha males (and perhaps a very alpha female in a later title), sex considered “taboo” (public sex, breeding, ménage, etc).
Why? Because, why the hell not?

They were both Taken By Surprise
Drop in, leave me a comment. Two people will win a copy of this book.
I was thrilled and delighted when Ruth Cardello invited me to be part of the launch of her Lone Star Burn Kindle World. Taken by Surprise moves from Houston to the West Texas Down of Fort Mavis where my characters could really come to life. The first wave of readers loved it. I hope you will, too. For just $1.99 you can take home a great love story with some Texas seasoning.
Blurb:
Jessie Coford had a dream: work hard, save her money, open her own restaurant, get married. In short order her dreams disintegrated. She broke up with the man she’d fallen in love with, she lost her job, and her landlord gave her sixty days to move. She was left with empty dreams and a woefully small bank account. What’s a woman to do?
Jack Ward thought his life was on track: he was a detective in the Houston Police Department and he’d met the woman of his dreams. Then Fate dealt him two low blows: his woman broke up with him and he was wounded in a takedown. What’s a man to do.
When Jessie headed to Fort Mavis to claim the restaurant left to her by an unknown relative, the last person she expects to see is Jack now working as a sheriff’s deputy. The first time they see each other, shock waves shook the town. Could he get past the bitterness of the breakup? Could she realize sometimes goals have to change…for the better? It takes a near disaster for them to find the answer to that question.
Except:
Jack stood at the front window of the general store, staring at the people outside. He had to be mistaken. There was no way in hell Jessie Coford would be here in Fort Mavis. He was pretty sure she’d never even heard of it. His stupid mind had to be playing tricks on him. Maybe it was because last night, just when he thought he’d gotten past it all, he’d had the most erotic dream about the two of them so far. When he woke up that morning, his cock had been so hard and swollen he was afraid to bump into something and break it off. Even taking himself in hand in the shower hadn’t done a lot to relieve the raging desire. His balls continued to ache all day, another painful situation.
Get over her, asshole. She walked away from you. It’s done. Over. Move ahead.
“Hey, Jack, I thought that was you.” Lynne’s voice sounded right at his ear.
Speaking of moving ahead.
He turned to find her close enough that her breath whispered soft against his skin. She grinned at him with her full, sensuous lips, and amusement sparkled in her hazel eyes. For a brief moment, shame washed over him. What was he doing thinking of one woman when he was dating another?
But it was just dating, he reminded himself. He’d been very clear about that with her right at the start. It also occurred to him as he studied her that he’d subconsciously chosen a woman who was the complete opposite in looks from Jessie. Where Jessie had dark-brown hair with golden highlights, Lynne was a strawberry blonde. Jessie was shorter, maybe five foot five, while Lynne was taller. In heels, as she was now, her head just reached above his mouth. Jessie had lush curves that he loved to touch and run his hands over. Lynne was tall and slender.
So what was he trying to prove? That he’d done an about-face to help him take the cure?
“Jack?” Lynne stared at him. “Are you okay?”
“What?” He rubbed his hand over his face. He needed to get his shit together. “I apologize again. Too much time staring into the sun today, I guess.”
“No bank robbers to catch?” she teased.
“No, and I like it that way just fine.”
“I saw you come in here, and I wanted to catch you. What’s your schedule tomorrow?”
He laughed. “About the same as today, I’d guess. Helping to keep the peace. Why?”
She ran the tip of a finger along his shirt collar. “I want you to take me to breakfast in the morning.”
Trying not to be too obvious, Jack took a little step back. He was coming to realize Lynne was an overly touchy-feely type, something he was uncomfortable with in public, especially when he was out dressed in his uniform. She frowned as he moved away, and, to take the sting out of it, he grinned at her.
“You have a big itch to have breakfast with me?”
“I want to have breakfast at Delfina’s Diner. When Delfina passed, I was hoping the estate would put it up for sale. I could sell it in a heartbeat.”
He cocked an eyebrow. “They’re not?”
“Uh-huh. I hear she left it to some shoestring relative no one ever knew about. Marshall Wohl said he was handing over the keys today, and I’m betting she’ll be there tomorrow.”
“Huh.” Jack scratched the back of his neck. He’d discovered in the six months he’d been here that things like this could be a major topic of interest in Fort Mavis.
“No one knows a thing about her,” Lynne went on. “Marshall’s been as close-mouthed as a clam, the jerk.”
Jack grinned. “You know him. He never spills a thing about his clients. It’s probably why he has so many.”
“Wellll,” Lynne drawled, “I’m hoping she’s just here to look it over and get back to her own life. I can tell my boss, Lee Ann Marlowe, about it and get a referral fee.”
“Okay. Sure. What time do you want to meet?”
Lynne fiddled with his collar again. “It would be a lot easier if I just rolled over next to you and we got there together. Right?” She winked at him.

Roping the Rancher PLUS GIVEAWAY!
Hi everyone! Happy July! (Wait–JULY??? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?)
Ahem.
I hope you had a great 4th holiday. Our puppies don’t exactly love all the fireworks but luckily, the worst of the boomers seems to be over for now. Whew! But now we’re entering the long stretch of summer. Our family vacation is going to be in Memphis this year because my Kid has discovered Elvis.
First off, last month’s winner of the Ever After box is…Audrey! Audrey, email me at message@sarahmanderson.com to claim the code for your prize! Huzzah!!
This month I’m giving away either a print or e-copy of the first NotMy1stRodeo.com anthology (featuring great stories by yours truly, Donna Alward and Jenna Bayley Burke!). Just tell me in the comments where you’re going on vacation this year to be entered to win!
Lots going on this month. In less than a week, I’ll be at RWA in San Diego this year. If you’re a reader in the area, I hope you’ll stop by for RWA’s huge Literacy Signing. All proceeds will go to literacy organizations because everyone should read, right? RIGHT.
And if you’re a conference attendee, I hope you’ll join me and Melissa Cutler at a fun California meet-up at the hotel pool!*
*This event isn’t open to the public but we’ll drink a margarita in your honor, promise!
Also, I’m nominated for a RITA this year! Yah! I hope I win but it’s an honor just to be nominated. RWA will be live-streaming the awards ceremony on July 16th. Since the conference is in San Diego, it won’t start until 10 pm CT time (or, as my father calls it, God’s Time) but if you want to follow along at home, RWA will be live tweeting the results, posting to their Facebook feed and streaming video at http://www.rwa.org. Wish me luck!
Okay! It’s hard to believe but I have *yet* another book out on July 12th! Roping The Rancher is the follow up to Something About a Cowboy, featuring Mack’s son, Tommy. Tommy’s a young college guy with a lot on his mind and…well, I’ll let him tell it in the exclusive excerpt below (you guys know I always save the very best for you, right?)
Roping The Rancher blurb:
How far will he go to give her what she wants?

A NotMy1stRodeo.com story
Tommy Tucker doesn’t know what he wants. All he knows is that the girls his own age that he asks out don’t quite do it for him. Until he meets Carly, the manager at a local restaurant.
Carly can’t believe a young buck like Tommy would even look twice at her and she has no interest in being anyone’s cougar. The last time she got involved with a customer, she wound up in a horrible marriage.
Still, when Tommy tells her that he’ll do whatever she tells him to…Carly can’t resist the chance to take what she wants from a man with no strings attached. But no one said anything about scarves…
When Tommy graduates, will Carly let him go—or will she keep him for herself?
Warning: Contains an older woman in charge, a younger man eager to please and a silk scarf tied to a headboard.

Roping The Rancher excerpt:
She realized she was tracing patterns on the table with her fingernail again. “How far are you willing to take this?” It was a bold question because it put aside any pretense of small talk or chitchat or getting to know you or whatever the hell it was that they were doing.
Something in his eyes changed and the air between them heated. He was so good-looking. It almost wasn’t fair. “I’m not looking to settle down. I’m not even looking for a date to a wedding in a couple of months. I’m not sure I have long-term in me. But,” he said, and for the first time since he put his hand on the small of her back, he touched her. He reached out and cupped her cheek in his palm, stroking his thumb over her skin. His hands weren’t soft and smooth, but rough and calloused. Her mind went back to the shy cowboy that had married her friend Dee and all the ways Dee had said that her new husband was so good with his hands.
“But,” he went on, “if you’re looking for something else, something fun with no strings and no commitment, I can give it to you. I’ll do whatever you want me to.”
She exhaled. “Anything?” she teased—but it wasn’t teasing, not really. Could he seriously be saying what she wanted him to be saying?
What did she want him to be saying?
What did she want?
She felt the tension in his body as the tips of his fingertips scraped against her skin. “Within reasonable limits,” he said and she thought she might be hearing things, but his voice almost sounded shaky.
She hoped like hell it was a good kind of shaky. She leaned into his touch. “Nothing weird. Nothing super kinky.”
“Why don’t you give me an example?” She saw him swallow. “Why don’t you tell me what you want me to do to you?”
Dear God, he was serious. No one had ever asked. No one had even thought about asking. What she wanted had always been secondary to what they wanted. The boys she climbed into the back seat with in high school, the little-more-than boys in college. And Drake—Carly should’ve known better, but didn’t.
She wasn’t playing around anymore. Suddenly, almost twenty years of not getting what she wanted felt like it was weighing her down, a stone around her neck. If she didn’t say what she wanted—if Tommy didn’t give it to her this very instant—then she was going to lose all hope.
Now all she had to do was say the words. He was still cupping her face and she was still leaning into his touch. It was an intimate gesture, but it wasn’t intimate enough.
“What would you say,” she began, her voice barely a whisper, “if I told you to take me home?”
The air between them got even thinner as he lifted her face toward him. “Is that all? You just want me to take you home?” He stared into her eyes, his pupils dilated, and his breath warm against her skin. “Or is there something you need me to do to you when we get there?”
“Cocky, aren’t we?”
Oh, that smile—that was going to be the end of her. But what a way to go.
“It’s not cocky if I can back it up. But I can’t back it up until you tell me what you need.”
She’d given him a chance and he’d convinced her. Now, she had to convince him. This was quite possibly an once-in-a-lifetime chance and she couldn’t let it slip by because she was afraid. She wasn’t going to be afraid to get what she wanted.
“Take me home,” she heard herself say and was amazed at how confident and powerful she sounded. But this was who he was telling her she could be right now—a confident, powerful woman who always got what she wanted. “You’re going to go down on me until I come.”
WHEW! Is it hot in here or is it just July? Wait, don’t answer that. So Roping The Rancher will be downloading SOON! Make sure to pre-order and also make sure to tell me in the comments about your vacation plans (don’t use dates–I get paranoid about broadcasting when you *won’t* be home on social media, okay?) to be entered to win a copy of the first three NotMy1stRodeo.com novellas! Have a great summer, everyone!
