ReviewRachel Van Dyken is on my TBR pile no matter what...if she has a book coming out, then I'm reading it.  So, why did this one leave me with a feeling of 'I don't want to review this book?'  I'll tell you why - I didn't like the hero.  I still give this book 4 stars but it was hard to read about how Will treated Angelica.  I get that she's the villain and she's done all these horrible things, but if a guy talked and treated me that way - he'd get my boot up his butt.  His friends were more forgiving and they're the ones that she really hurt the most IMO.  Yeah, he thought she did something on his side but it just didn't make it okay to treat her like he did.  Maybe, I'm from the old school where the golden rule still exists.  Will started to treat her better but I just felt that a lot of his problems were selfishness.  I loved the story of redemption on both of their parts and felt that the storytelling was exceptionally done.  It was well-told and well-written so that's why it got 4 stars.  My only issue was really the hero being a dick and I guess that's how it is in relationships.  There are two sides to every story and sometimes it's not as clear-cut as one might think.   I felt an immense sorrow for Angelica, even though she was meant to look like the villain through the book and she was in prior books.  I just couldn't hate her though and that's what makes an awesome author.  I've said that time and again - to take a character that people hate and make her likable is hard to do.  Rachel Van Dyken did this with no problems whatsoever!!
