Let’s get Kuchen!
Last week Iwas sent this infographic about German cakes, made by the lovely people of swissôtel. I tried to write a blog post about it but only managed to drool over those cake pictures.
As I can’t leave a ‘call to action’ and ask you, dear readers, to bake me one of those cakes, I just leave you with the pictures to drool over yourselves. Enjoy!

Sit on a throne and learn some German!
I know this isn’t really a throne. It’s a chair in the meeting room which I hire for my Wednesday German class. And that’s what it is: MY teacher’s throne … and none of my students would dare sit on it
But, as it looks a little bit like a throne, here are some words/ phrases which you might come across when reading German novels about kings an...

Teach your child German with this smartphone app
Do you have small children who would benefit from learning some basic German? Would you like to learn some German together with your child?
If you have an smartphone you may want to check out ‘Lernkarten – Lernspiele für Kinder, Deutsch’ (android link) (iPhone link). It’s a lovely app with easy (well, most of them
) words to learn.
If you want to use all topics you will need to pay 3.99 Euro, which worked out to 2.51 when I bought it. Not bad for hours of fun and learning German.

Are you a lover of football and German? This is for you!
Last week something funny happened. There was a press conference about Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Borussia Dortmund, who was about to announce that he was leaving the club. That’s not the funny bit!
Ben Bloom, the Telegraph sports commentator had the taskto comment live as the conference was broadcast. You can read the whole article here, but I will quote some of the funniest ( for me, anyway) comments:

Right we have a slight issue… they are speaking in German and my GCSE in the subj...
