Update on Blind Luck, book 6

I’m pretty darn excited for the release of Blind Luck, the sixth and final book of the Team Red series. But don’t despair, my beta team came up with some great suggestions and I may insert Team Red novellas into the upcoming (Summer 2016) series built around some of your favorite Mustangs. The as yet unnamed series (probably Mustangs, or Wild Horse Security) will be military romance genre books featuring Frost, Dexter, and Russ. I don’t have a firm limit on the number of books—I’ll wait and see how the series is accepted by the readers.

Blind Luck will hopefully wrap up all the open threads and answer questions about the characters. I’ve even included a couple graphics: the layout of Teresa’s house, the cross-section of The Compound, and a rough layout of the PreClan-Team Red property. If you’re curious, go to the Team Red Series board on my Pinterest page (yeah, this is a recent development!) https://www.pinterest.com/thammondwri... and for those of you interested in taking the Team Red Tour of places mentioned in the books, I have a board for that too.

I’m still looking for bloggers interested in posting about the Cover Reveal and Release Dates, so bloggers, please contact me at redstalks@gmail.com for a press kit.

Excerpt:

“Yer so beww-ti-fulllll to meeeeeeeeeee,” Red crooned in my head.

“If it’s only four-thirty, I’m locking you in a closet,” I threatened, covering my head with the pillow, which really made no sense, had I been awake enough to think logically.

“Frost sent me in to wake you,” he defended, before proceeding to slaughter another hit song. “Get your motor jumpin’, ‘cuz we’re headin’ for the highway. Looking for the bad guyzzzzzz, and... heh, I don’t know the end of the song.”

“You didn’t know the first part, either,” I critiqued. Relieved, after checking the time, to find it’s barely past seven a.m.

“Rise and shine! We have four more boxes and eight criminal profiles to go through.”

“You’re awfully chipper this morning,” I grumbled, swinging my legs out of bed.

“Eddie, Frost, and Grizzz took me jogging. We ran a couple miles already, and I got a marshmallow for a snack when we got back.”

Ah, sugar high, now his mood was making sense.

Blind Luck Cover Reveal & Giveaway

Synopsis:

What happens in Reno should stay in Reno. Unfortunately, Red has never learned to keep a secret.

Teresa March and the Team Red detail are off to
Nevada to help authorities solve a series of escalating violent crimes.
Assault, robbery, rape, and most recently – murder, spreading from Tahoe's
rugged lakeside trails to Reno's desert recreation areas. Tensions and
altitudes are high.

David remains in Spokane at Marcia's bedside,
and Bastian is on the East Coast completing PreClan military software
installations. Both men worry about Teresa as she and Red close in on the
vicious gang cutting a bloody swath of terror through the Sierra Mountains.

Sifting through forensic evidence is barely
finished when tragedy strikes; an avalanche and missing skiers whose only hope
is top notch rescue dog. Team Red has never been more in demand.

Genre:  Spicy Romance with a paranormal twist

Excerpt:

I took my
window seat, pulling Frost into the spot beside me, the same as we’d traveled
before. He resisted for a split second and then capitulated, once Bas took the
seat across from me. The special agent looked around uncertainly, finally
deciding to sit next to Bas. His confused glance leapt from Bas to my fingers,
linked through Frost’s. I imagined a host of inappropriate thoughts were
spinning through his mind. Red sat in the aisle, buckled into his harness by an
efficient Mindy, head resting on the table between us so he could observe
everyone.

Bas had been
well-aware of my intention to sit with Frost, understanding my need to provide
support. Of course, Bastian couldn’t let it go. “I see you finally found a way
to get your hands on my woman,” he teased.

“Go ahead, mock
me.” Frost lifted our linked hands. “I’ve got the prize.”

Bastian gifted
me with a warm smile. “You do indeed.” He nodded toward our entwined fingers,
“I’ll want those back once we land.”

Frost shrugged
with feigned nonchalance. “She may decide she’s happier with the upgrade.” His
lifted brow, and the twist of humor canting a corner of his lip, suggested he
was the better bargain.

“Oh, puleeez.” Red sighed dramatically in my mind.

I tried to keep
my amusement to myself, but Bas noticed my silent laughter. His suspicious gaze
cut sharply to Red, who must have looked guilty (Janey tells me his ears droop,
something I can’t see from his perspective). “Something you wanted to add,
furball?”

Red ducked his
head under the table, giving me a fantastic view of shoes. For as smart as he
was, he often reverted to the classic dog-notion, if I can’t see you, you can’t
see me.

“Thought not,”
Bastian mumbled.

About the Author:

T. Hammond feels writing is not a calling so
much as a compulsion. No one is more surprised than her when characters take
over the plot and dialog, (re)directing stories in directions she had not
(consciously) intended. Although she starts with a basic framework, she finds
that one or two chapters into each novel, not only have characters shredded her
outline into tiny unidentifiable pieces, they use the resulting confetti in a
nose-thumbing parade. She is fully convinced the writer is merely the tool a
story uses to tell its tale.

T’s first Urban Fantasy, Posse: Legends, is
scheduled for Spring 2015, and will be her first book outside the Team Red
series.

Excerpt 1:

The goobers have drained all my energy,” she confided, tugging the coffee mug from my hand, inhaling with exaggerated breaths, “God, this smells so good. Ken won’t even buy any for the house anymore. It’s a sad day when I must resort to sniffing coffee fumes like a coke addict.”

“Put that cup down, right this minute, young lady!” Ken ordered in his best I-am-man-hear-me-roar voice. “We agreed, no caffeine until you stop breastfeeding.” He reached across the table to snatch my mug from her grip.

“I was just smelling it,” Janey whined.

“It starts innocently with a sniff,” Ken replied sagely, and more calmly now that temptation had been removed from the hands of his hormonal beloved. “Then, before you realize it’s happening, you are drawn in by the enticing aroma of the omnipotent coffee bean. Baby, you’re weak, you know this. No sniffing.”

Thank You, to the Team Red readers

Blind Luck hadn’t even released in the US when I started to get email from fans in Australia. So far I’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response and encouragement from readers (selected comments below).

The latest book, Blind Luck, is officially the last book of the Team Red series, but... my beta readers have talked me into including novellas with the releases of the Mustang/Wild Horse series which will start in mid-2016 with Frost's story.

I have nothing against doing more stand-alone Team Red books in the future, but there are none rattling around in my brain at this time, and I certainly don't want to force them. I hate when my favorite series starts to go into a downward spiral because the author is slapping words on paper, rather than being inspired by the characters. I'm writing the posse series (a trilogy) for now, and I NEED to get the words out (Maybe this is something only another writer can understand). When I quiet these voices, I'll start on the Wild Horses, because Frost is already starting to tell me his story--- then, we'll see if the Team Red crew has another mission in them. But no promises- I'd rather end on a high note, than drag the series out to a sputter.

A Heartfelt "Thanks" to all the readers (I really hate the word ‘fans’) of the series. Your encouragement is inspiring.

TW: I Loved Loved Loved it!! … I know it was supposed to be the end, however if you felt so inclined to continue with their stories I wouldn't complain. Lol It doesn't need to be forever, just until Peanut graduates from college.
