My name is Stephanie Flint, formerly Stephanie Bibb. (You can find the 1000 Word short stories under both names). I primarily write science fiction and fantasy, and I also do book cover design-- which is the main thing my blog focuses on.

My 1000 Words short story project encompasses both fields of interest-- I wrote ten 1000-word stories and created book covers for them to start my portfolio.

Right now I'm working on a series of novels with my husband, along with my own set of fantasy novellas, and those are listed under my married name. :-)

I'm glad you enjoyed "Distant Horizon!" :-D

Currently Isaac and I are working on editing "Glitch," which follows Tim after the events of "Distant Horizon." After that, the next "Distant Horizon" book will be "Fractured Skies," which follows Jenna again. Since I'm also working on "The Wishing Blade" series, it may be a little bit before we see "Fractured Skies," but I've already got a rough draft written and semi-edited. In the meantime, Isaac and I are aiming to release "Glitch" in the next twelve months (hopefully much sooner!). As for both those books, I can hint that we'll find out more about the Camaraderie's secret project, the one Jenna got a glimpse of at the end of "Distant Horizon." ;-)(less)

Types of Magic

There are several types of magic in The Wishing Blade universe (because I like making magic systems). Some are closely related, and others aren’t. Here’s a look at the different types:

Ribbon Magic: One of the most common forms of magic in Cirena (until the Stealing) is ribbon magic. These invisible ribbons float through a person and can be commanded to do various tasks, depending on the type of ri
