Myths & Legends (The Awakening)
Yeah, how is that for a catchy title? ;)
I've had some readers ask me where I get the ideas for my books. On my website at:
http://www.take2creativestorywriters.com
I have dedicated a page to myths, legends, and characters that have inspired my writing. I am starting with the characters that are featured in my Legacy Novel series, but will expand from there.
Here is introduction to some of the characters of Irish legends.
Morrigan (The Phantom Queen) – Often depicted with the huge black wings of a crow. She is the goddess of war, of battle, of fury; a bringer of fear and panic, and a prophet—especially when the prophecy speaks of doom or bloodshed. Yet, as the Dagda (the skillful father god) found out to his joy, she also sported a lusty and vigorous sexuality, abundantly willing to share her pleasures with those she deemed worthy, but vicious and unforgiving when spurned.
The goddess of the killing rage—one grisly tale recounts how, to whip the warriors of the Tuatha De Danann into a battle frenzy, she slaughtered one of their enemies and filled her hands with his blood, which she then dispersed among her own heroes. A baptism of blood, not for the fainthearted.
Naturally, the time of year most sacred to this terrible figure can only e Samhain—the festival of death. The tradition upholds this, for one of the most powerful stories of Irish lore, in which the Phantom Queen enjoys a passionate tryst with the Dagda while standing astride the Unshin River in County Sligo, is set on this sacred day. [excerpts from “Magic of the Celtic Gods and Goddesses” by McColman and Hinds]

Podcasts?
I am in the process of creating a podcast series about Myths & Legends around the world.
What do you think? Do you listen to podcasts? If you do, what are the kind of things you typically download? Do you prefer only audio, only video, or a mixture of both?
I would love to hear you what you think.

Kirkus Indie Review for "Desires (A Legacy Novel)"
Rose’s new fantasy series revisits the classic good-versus-evil battle in the ancient setting of Celtic and Sidhe legends.
While the development of the characters and legend are vivid… the well-developed fantasy world has potential.
In Rose’s fairly complex fantasy…the story comes together in a richly layered world.

New Podcast Series Going Live!
Hi everyone!
Just trying to keep everyone updated on what is coming up.
On June 21, 2013 the first episode of my podcast series "Myths & Legends from Around the World with R. Rose" will go live.
I will share the fun, superstitious and often times scary myths and legends that I have come across in my research.
You will be able to find it here:
http://rrosefantasyauthor.podomatic.com
and if I do it right RSS feed should be available. I think it should be downloadable on ITunes too.
I will let you know when it goes live on the 21st and until then I will keep my fingers crossed that I push all the right buttons.

A World of Myths & Legends
The Podcast series
"A World of Myths & Legends with R. Rose
has gone live.
In it I will share the fascinating world of myths, legend, and superstitions from every corner of the Earth.
In Episode One - From Ireland "The Dead," I read some of the superstitions collected by Lady Francesca Speranza Wilde, Oscar Wilde’s mother in 1887.
Episode Two will be from the same collection on the legends and superstitions of the "Sidhe or Fairy People."
**I apologize for the lack of background music, but apparently that was some of my technical difficulties. I will try to have the problem fixed by episode two.
