Snippets from "Desires (A Legacy Novel)"

Illuminated in the glow of the full moon, the Irish countryside appeared serene—a deceptive ruse to hide the danger that was not seen until it was too late. For the Blood Moon will rise on this night of Samhain. An ancient evil was seething in the Otherworld. A scorned Battle Goddess seeking vengeance desires to leave the mortal world in a deluge of blood in her search for retribution.

War, killings, rapes, tortures…his life had been a long string of violence. It was a wonder he still had any sanity remaining. Only the fact that his mind suppressed any memory of his actions kept him from becoming raving mad. Would he truly go mad? Or would he enjoy it as Morrigan claimed? As Greagoir washed the evidence of his previous deeds away, he began a transformation to the body that now sheltered his humanity.

As he tried to block the horrible sound of the crows feeding behind him, he searched his soul. If he gave in to Morrigan, he could be her lover and have eternal youth. Could he murder his own humanity?

…darkness consumed the sky above her as thousands of crows circled overhead; she would have to make her stand here.

Wiping at the single tear that slid down her cheek, “My warrior—I need you,” she thought as she envisioned Fionntan in her mind.

Ducking to avoid the razor sharp beaks that snapped at her face; Liadan took her fighting stance and waited.

Kirkus Indie Review for "Desires (A Legacy Novel)"

Rose’s new fantasy series revisits the classic good-versus-evil battle in the ancient setting of Celtic and Sidhe legends.

While the development of the characters and legend are vivid… the well-developed fantasy world has potential.

In Rose’s fairly complex fantasy…the story comes together in a richly layered world.

Desires (A Legacy Novel)
By R. Rose

Star Rating: 5 out of 5
This is truly a book that will keep you hooked until the very end! Elean is quite spirited and she is more courageous than most. You will fall in love with her and the men who loved her.

What's new in the world of Malevolence?

For all those wondering how Malevolence is coming along...well, it is coming along just fine.

Fantasy artist, Delight Prescott-Spall has all my ideas for the interior art and now the ball is in her talented court.

Fantasy Artist, Julie Fain has my ideas for the cover of "Sacrifices" and that ball is in her very talented court (it's a good thing I am ambidextrous with all these tennis references "bouncing" about). The cover art for Sacrifices will be revealed in the back of Malevolence.

Of course, Jen Delyth's Celtic art will be back.

I have also been talking back and forth with the publisher all week and I will spend the entire weekend working on the manuscript. Have I forgotten anything?

Well, that is all the update I have for you right now.

"Malevolence" Countdown

With the anticipated release of "Malevolence (A Legacy Novel #2) only a couple of months away, what would you suggest as great way to ease the anticipation?

I was hoping to do the cover reveal on Samhain, but I don't have confirmation that the cover will be ready in time. What about if I reveal the prologue...or the first chapter...or both? And, if the cover is ready or the book trailer then it will be an added bonus. Maybe I can giveaway some prizes...what do you think?

I would love to hear your opinions or if you have any better ideas, I would love to hear those too.

Trick or Treat!

So here is the plan...

I just emailed the stuff for the first book trailer...or should I say teaser?
It is now in the very talented hands of Aoife Marie Sheridan (who also happens to be a Goodreads author). I have already completed the synopsis for "Malevolence."

If everything continues to go smoothly, I will go live with the page for "Malevolence (A Legacy Novel),, which will include the synopsis and first book trailer. The page will be available to be seen on my website at 11pm on Oct 30th PST. I will post links to the page on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. On Nov. 1st, I will update the information to my Goodreads author page and the video link will be added to my author page on Facebook, but I will not be creating an actual FB page for "Malevolence" until just before its release date.

I hope you will come and join me on Samhain (Halloween) to watch the trailer. Who knows, maybe I'll make popcorn balls...or better yet, I feel the need to give away stuff. You know..."Treats"...hmm, going to have to think on that one.

NEWS FLASH: Halloween Cancelled Due to Technical Difficulties

Okay, maybe that was a slight exaggeration. Only the "Malevolence (A Legacy Novel) book trailer reveal that was scheduled for Halloween has been cancelled. Unbeknownst to Aoife, the dark gremlins invaded her computer. Sending it into an ever spiral of darkness and taking my book trailer with it.

CURSE YOU DARK GREMLINS!!

Aoife is looking at a few weeks before she can create a new trailer for me, so we will reveal it in a few weeks.

Thank you for your patience.
