Speechless — One of the Season’s Best New Series
One of the year's best television series is "Speechless," about a family with three children, one in a wheelchair. Minnie Driver stars as the fiercely protective mother, John Ross Bowie (Kripke from "Big Bang Theory") as the more quietly supportive father, and Micah Fowler, who like the character he plays, has cerebral palsy. Interview: Director Barnet Bain on “Milton’s Secret”
Barnet Bain co-wrote and directed "Milton's Secret," based on Eckhart Tolle's book about a bullied boy who learns some strategies for coping with his anxiety from his grandfather, played in the film by Donald Sutherland. In an interview, Bain talked about using classic Donovan songs on the soundtrack and dealing with the "internal bully."
