xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

This ridiculous but ridiculously entertaining third chapter in the "XXX" action series is basically script by Mad Libs: Let's have Vin Diesel [action verb] in a [location completely unrelated to action verb]. Here is a summer movie in January, with chases and explosions for days, badassery of all kinds, and many thousand yard stares, all...

Interview: The Resurrection of Gavin Stone Star Anjelah Johnson-Reyes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZSOe...

"The Resurrection of Gavin Stone" is a sweet, gentle Christian romantic comedy about a spoiled, arrogant former child actor who is sentenced to 200 hours of community service following some bad behavior. Martin Luther King Day

We have also come to his hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism.

Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make...

Where to Watch Interview with Chris Wedge of “Monster Trucks”

My friend Susan Wloszczyna interviewed "Monster Trucks" director Chris Wedge for the MPAA website Where to Watch. The long-time animation director ("Ice Age") spoke to her about working with live action.

Animation takes longer but there is more control. The idea we went in with was usually more closely represented onscreen when we were done. But live...
