She tipped her head sideways, looking at him from head to toe the way he’d looked at her. His worn clothes fitted him well, enhancing rather than disguising the lean, muscled body underneath. Stubble shadowed his jaw and his lips were still twisted in a half smile as he met her gaze. He was so calm, standing there facing down a pistol. So calm, after he’d ruined her plans by stealing the gold. He’d distracted her from her goal with his hot mouth and his rough hands, and, even after all the trouble he’d been, she still felt a twinge of longing just looking at him.

A drip of water fell from her knee to the top of her foot.

And he’d interrupted her bath.

#SatSpanks – Outlaw Rose

Saturday Spankings-467x200

Rose would do whatever was necessary to get the gold back from the bank robbers. Enjoying it was an unexpected bonus. ~Outlaw Rose  Available now!

“Spread your knees,” he demanded as he moved behind her.

Rose lifted herself up on her hands and knees.

His hand came down on her ass with a crack that echoed through the darkness and left a stinging hot pain. “I never said you could lift your head up,” he growled in her ear as he grabbed the back of her neck and forced her head back down. “If you can’t listen, you’ll have to be punished.”

She could tell he was enjoying himself. Her bottom stung from his slap, the tingle igniting other sensations. She knew Tucker was watching, a shadowy silhouette, and that was exciting too.

“You want to make me happy, don’t you?”

A New Muse

It’s funny how things work out. The connections that happen in your mind, to inspire you at just the right moment.

I’ve been plotting a series for Total E Bound, and I’m so excited about it. I’ve been wanting to dive into the first book for weeks, but April is officially the busiest month ever in my real, non-writing life (at least until July), and I still had the short story, IN THE VAULT, to finish up before I was allowed to start. I have very strict rules for my writer self, otherwise I’d have lots of fun but get very little actually finished.

I even signed up for Camp Nanowrimo this month, in the hopes it would help me eke out some time to write. I adore the Nano word counters. I wish I had access to them for every story I write! But it wasn’t to be for the first part  - okay, first 2/3 – of the month. The story was in my head while I was busy with other things, but I didn’t have a moment to get started actually writing it.

Finally, last night I had the evening off and was able to get a start – however small – on THE UNDERCOVER OUTLAW while watching TV with my dad. He was watching some educational science show, the one with the host who sounds like he is trying to put you to sleep instead of educate, which I usually have no trouble tuning out.

But then, he put on a new show, called Defiance.

It was good. Kept my interest, was clever and funny, lots of action and even a pretty hot sex scene. It’s science fiction, but with a very frontier feel – I was surprised when a cursory google revealed it’s based on a video game. Obviously I’m not a gamer, but regardless, I enjoyed it and will tune in again.

But the point – and I do have one – is that Nolan, the main character played by the very sexy Grant Bowler, is now totally the placeholder for my hero in THE UNDERCOVER OUTLAW. I don’t  often use a real life (or, you know, tv) person for one of my characters, but every so often it just works out.

If, like me, you hadn’t heard of Grant Bowler, I invite you to do a google images search. Here’s a sneak peak:

I’m looking forward to spending the next novel with him! ;-)

#SundaySnog from In The Vault

sundaysnog

My first try to play along!

This is a snippet from IN THE VAULT,  a free short story that will be available soon!

Rose loves banks. The cash, the gold … the thrill of a well-planned robbery …

But jewels and riches aren’t what Rose desires most, and Tucker is ready and willing to turn her fantasy into reality.

When you have a partner in crime, anything can happen IN THE VAULT.

Rose raised her eyebrows. “You have any idea which one of those is the right one?”

“Nope,” Tucker said mildly, selecting a key and sliding it into the lock. It didn’t work. “What do you spose Young Jimmy has all these keys for anyway?” He tried the next key along the ring.

Rose signed noisily and leaned back against the bars. She tapped her foot.

“Are you going to keep that up the entire time I’m doing this?” Tucker asked, not looking up from the key ring.

“Probably.” Rose tapped her foot louder.

“Couldn’t you find some other way to amuse yourself?”

“Hmm.” Rose watched him, his brow furrowed with concentration, his head tipped forward so that the longish curls that usually brushed his collar slid  up, exposing the nape of his neck. She grinned. “Maybe I can think of something.”

He quirked the corner of his mouth in a half smile, but didn’t look up as he realized the intent behind her words. “Behave yourself, we’re working.”

Rose pushed herself away from the bars and stood close behind him. She pressed her body against the warmth of his back and stood up on her toes to press a wet kiss to the soft skin at the back of his neck. She wrapped her arms around him, tracing the hard planes of his chest, the muscled ridges of his stomach, slipping her fingers between the buttons to tease at his bare skin.

“Rose …” Tucker said warningly, and the timber of his voice sent a shiver through Rose. He didn’t use her real name often enough.

Head over to visit Victoria Blisse for more Sunday Snogs!

The Beginning

It all started with my friends teasing me for not writing sex scenes. As friends do.

The difference is, that I am more than average contrary. Instead of writing a sex scene to prove them wrong – or rather, to prove to myself that I could do it – I wrote what became OUTLAW ROSE.

So yeah, I guess that worked out pretty well.
