Are there any bugs in Winter? And what about Summer? Is there a swarm of bugs in Summer? I'm asking the important questions

Okay, I love this question. Detailed world building questions win EVERYTHING.

There are very few bugs in Winter, because, honestly, how many bugs can tolerate freezing temps? Which is one of the main things I love about Winter. Mosquitoes? NOPE. Wasps? NO WAY. Poisonous spiders? NO MA’AM.

The Spring Kingdom, though, has most of the bug problems, due again to climate. Most of Summer is SO hot that it creates a just as deadly atmosphere for insects as Winter. Thus, Spring, with its perfect humidity levels and temperatures, is like bug paradise.

(I realize Autumn was not mentioned, but they’re next in line behind Spring in amount of bugs because their climate is slightly cooler and drier.)

That was probably way more information than you wanted.

Surrealist Cover Design -- Interviewing Jeff Huang

reedsyhq:

“I am fascinated by the idea of the subconscious bleeding into the conscious world”

At Reedsy, we like to take some pride in the people we have been able to attract. Our vision was to create a community of truly great freelance talent and make it available for authors. Every day, as more great editors, proofreaders, designers and artists are added, we are getting a little closer to making this vision a reality.

Today, we have the honor of interviewing one of our very best artists. Whether it’s for Stephen King, Sara Raasch, Nintendo or himself, his work is instantly recognisable by its surrealist inspiration: a provocative play with images that blend and blur reality.

“Covers don’t sell books”? You’re wrong. His covers do.

Would you consider yourself a neo-surrealist? At Reedsy, we’re big fans of painters like Dali, De Chirico or even Magritte, and have immediately been drawn to your art because of that. Do you take your inspiration from them?

If you could, which actors/actresses would you cast for Meira, Theron, Mather and Sir?

I have a Pinterest board of some fancasts here, but my favorite is Ksenia Solo for Meira:

And do you have a song on mind for Meira/Mather or Meira/Theron? ^^

Ohhhh SO MANY SONGS.

But to give you a sneak peek into ICE LIKE FIRE, here are my two favorite songs for Meira/Mather and Meira/Theron for that book.

Meira/Mather: Clarity by Zedd.

Meira/Theron: Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips

Mention one song that reminds you of Meira. :)

I like this game! First one that comes to mind: Titanium by David Guetta/Sia
