Because US Airways charges an insane fee for checked bags, the small roller board will have to hold five days of clothes, including a nice suit and a pair of dress shoes because there's something not-kosher about attending the Newbery banquet in a black t-shirt and shorts.

Beyond luggage news, this an exciting ALA b...

"Rockets Readers to New Frontiers"

Suzanne Collins, best-selling and award-winning author of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and the forthcoming Mockingjay, has written a blurb for Black Hole Sun!  Interestingly, Mockingjay and Black Hole Sun share a publication date of August 24. Here's the blurb:

"The sins of his father weigh heavily on Durango, an outcast teen mercenary who's trying to eke out a living on tomorrow's gritty, trigger-happy Mars. Fortunately, he is armed with an AI implant, a crew of colorful misfits, and...

In its June 1st issue, ALA's Booklist magazine gave Black Hole Sun a starred review. W00t!  The review was by former Printz Committee Chair, Cindy Dobrez, who says that "Readers will have a hard time turning the pages fast enough as the body count rises to the climactic, satisfying ending."

My favorite part of the review is this line: "The repartee between Durango and Mimi is particularly brilliant, but throughout the novel, the dialogue crackles with expertly delivered sarcastic wit and...
