New Year's Reading Resolutions Blog Hop
I absolutely LOVE to read and for the last 2 or so years I've set goals for myself that have shocked even me! For this year I have two goals. A lowest of 200 books read and a highest of 325. Why 2 goals you ask? It's because the last couple of years I've been able to read at least 300 books for the year and I know this year is going to be plenty busy for me and I DO NOT want to disappoint myself or anyone else...
Now for a few of my favorites of 2013 (this was VERY hard to decide since I read over 300 books in 2013 and enjoyed many of them). But I was able to narrow it down to the following 5:

I love it when the title of a book truly fits the actual story! Where Words Fail is an emotional, fun, touching and addictive read that many fans of the genre will enjoy their time reading.
Abby has been through a lot in her life. Add the loss of her parents and being picked on and pretty much harassed forever just for looking and being different, and yea, it's much worse...
Abby's had to calm her temper and basically just sit back and swallow her retorts and actions because she's been firmly warned and she DOES NOT want to face the consequences! Luckily (in some way) life takes a turn for her and she does not have to deal with those foolish people any longer, at least not alone. Yea she still has many things that are causing her to suffer emotionally. But the show that is life must go on!
Now if she can only get rid of these gorgeous pair of eyes that she fell in love with and have haunted her for years, she'll be able to move forward and she'll be all aces!
I enjoy a story when a couple is reunited. Especially two people that are both...damaged in some way and it eventually leads to both being able to heal one another and cure the aches each carry. Jameson is a great male who was put into a situation by family. Luckily he and Abby get a second chance to make everything right...
Where Words Fail is a great start to a new series! I look forward to Tuesday story (sits on edge of seat tapping feet!) I hope it releases soon!

Motherfuckers. Just because I’m a freshman doesn’t mean anything. I don’t usually let myself get walked all over, but I just can’t seem to help it. I’m a freshman. Fresh fucking meat and I have to behave myself. It doesn’t help my case that I’m probably the smallest person here, or that I have bright red hair and glasses. Nope that just makes it easier to stomp on me.
The only person I know at this school is my twin brother Alex. But even he doesn’t know how to handle how they treat me. He’s the lucky one out of the two of us. Somehow he got the height and ended up a blonde instead of a goddamn ginger. As a freshman, he already stood five feet nine, and the doctors don’t expect him to stop growing anytime soon. Me... My Review:Holding Out is a fun, exciting and somewhat unpredictable story that many fans of the genre & those that enjoy a sexy read packed with even sexier MC members will enjoy ;)
Zara escaped a very unhealthy life over six years ago and has been constantly looking over her shoulder ever since. Her only desire is to keep herself and those she loves, safe. She's not had any intimate relationships in all of the years that have passed due to her horrible experience and does not plan to have any, any time soon. EVEN, no ESPECIALLY if the sexy alpha biker, Talon does funny things to her insides that no man has EVER done to her. Even without him touching her!...
A good start for a new series which I look forward to seeing continue. Even though she was a bit mouthy, I really like Deanna's character (Zara's bestie and who'll be in the next of the series). I hope she finds happiness just as Zara has. I think she needs it!

I chose to go with the photo used below and the word prompts "You're not the boss of me." use puppy eyes or "He gives a new definition to flaming!" and "Don't get your knickers in a twist...".

"It's All in the Tips #4" I quickly raise my head up in fear. Could she be taking about my Mr. Sexy? I sure hope not. I think—not.
I KNOW that would put a major strain on our friendship. I know it’s a harsh thing to think, but my gut is telling me that he’s something special and all of my girlie bits are telling me he’s mine!
Marcia is still not looking me in the eye and I suddenly experience a feeling of nausea.
She takes a short breath and speaks faster than I’ve ever heard her speak before, “He’s the guy that helped with psycho control earlier. The one who ordered the bottle of Patron and has been nursing it ever since.”
Wow with a side of unbelievable! I’m stunned and grateful! Now that I think about it. He was watching her a lot and ignoring all the other females who approached him for company. “I know who you mean. Well, damn woman. He can sure pound down the hard stuff! I’d like a normal introduction if you don’t mind. I was worried he was a trouble maker earlier with all of the alcohol running through his bloodstream.”
She whips her head up lightning fast and stares straight into my eyes. “No, he’s not trouble Renee. Far from it. It just—well, it takes a lot for him to get drunk. He’s a great guy. I promise. Oh, and I happen to know the other guy who helped escort the nutty pirate out has the hots for Darla, major hots! Tex told me a few nights back while he was popping open a bottle of champagne to celebrate me and him…just being together I guess. But we both figure it’s best to let nature take its course, you know? Let them meet each other their own, let fate be their guide.” She smiles at me and looks at me knowingly. [image error] I’m getting a feeling I might not like what she has to say next. I don’t have to wait long at all to hear what’s going through her mind because she steps closer, places a hand on my shoulder, raises her puppy eyes to mine and gives a sort of pleading pouty smile. “I also noticed that guy who came in last. Right as the wench was stirring up shit.You know that indescribably sexy, really tall and solid looking hot stud of a cowboy...Well, I noticed he only had eyes for you and dang my biffle!” She gives a full body shudder as if she’s just had a mild orgasm then asks, “Do you know him?”
I think for a minute, if I should tell her about meeting him earlier or not and decide on the former. There’s no reason for me to hide the truth. I trust her and Darla more than I ever have anyone, so I tell her about the actual run in and display of heroism right along with the name I gave him. “Mr. Sexy? Very original Renee, not! That man gives a new definition to flaming! He deserves a better nickname or pseudo name like Mr. freakin Sexy.”
The bitch is actually in full belly laughter mode right now and I want to give her a friendly bitch slap or even better put her in a choke hold until she passes out. How dare she make fun of my name for Mr. Nameless? I’m pissed off right now!
She must see the steam coming out of my ears because her laughter stops abruptly and she puts her hands up in surrender. Not even a smile on her face. “Don't get your knickers in a twist..."
I’ve always had a horrible uncontrollable temper that only seems to show itself sporadically. Like right now. I’m not even thinking about it or why but my lips start moving and spurt out a very immature come back, "You're not the boss of me. So just zip it." I give her my back as I try to pull myself together. These tantrums or whatever you want to call them of mine suck and seem to be getting worse with age. Am I going through some sort of regression or some shit? Sometimes, it feels like there’s an animal inside of me trying to break free. A very angry animal that’s tired of staying hidden and being alone. But that’s ridiculous! I’m just a woman who works hard for her money and drools over how cowboy-looking guys vibrate my core with just a few words. Yup that’s me.
“Renee? RENEE! Snap out of it and calm down.”
I feel soothing vibrations flowing from her words, calming the anger I couldn’t control only moments ago. This isn’t the first time she’s done that. Actually, Marcia has had the same effect on me many times over the years. I just never really paid enough mind to it…To think of questioning either of them. Or at least, I think that’s the reason. I can’t even remember.
I don’t even recall why I was just so rip roaring angry for that matter. “Let’s get back out there and get to work. Darla’s been out there with only Troy and we’ve been back here too long. Let’s just forget everything for now…”

Hey everyone! I’m M.A. Church and I’m here to talk about my latest release, Wrapped in Leather. It’s the first in the Wrapped Up series. Wrapped in Leather is about two men exploring a relationship involving their love of leather, BDSM. One of the things Toshi has to answer for himself is: What is a submissive?

A submissive is a person who makes a conscious choice to give up some or all control of their life to another person—a Dominant or a Top. Dominance and submission is about a power exchange between two consenting adults. It is about the control within the dynamics of that relationship, whether it be a full time 24/7 relationship, or a casual meeting, or a part time arrangement.Choosing to be submissive means to allow someone else to control your body and behavior within the preset limits you and that particular person, i.e. the Dominant, have agreed upon. Hey everyone! I’m M.A. Church and I’m here to talk about my latest release, Wrapped in Leather. It’s the first in the Wrapped Up series. Wrapped in Leather is about two men exploring a relationship involving their love of leather, BDSM. One of the things Toshi has to answer for himself is: What is a submissive?

A submissive is a person who makes a conscious choice to give up some or all control of their life to another person—a Dominant or a Top. Dominance and submission is about a power exchange between two consenting adults. It is about the control within the dynamics of that relationship, whether it be a full time 24/7 relationship, or a casual meeting, or a part time arrangement.Choosing to be submissive means to allow someone else to control your body and behavior within the preset limits you and that particular person, i.e. the Dominant, have agreed upon. Submission is not a sign of weakness; some of the most successful and strongest people are true submissives.

Submission is not about passiveness, it is not about being a doormat—most submissives are intelligent and well-balanced people just fulfilling their basic desires to submit and to give up control.
