Erin Porter is a 36 year old pediatric surgeon. Past heartbreaks have left her guarded and obtuse toward all things love and relationship related. She has plenty of boy toys to scratch her “itch” when needed but does not have, nor is she looking for anything serious or long term. At least not until Josh and Mike enter her life.
She meets them both around the same time but one is sensitive and affectionate while the other is sensual and passionate. Meeting them both cause her to examine not only what she wants but who she is.
She sets out on a quest to discover her truest self in the hope of overcoming her past and determining with whom she will step into her future. Both men stand by her through some very difficult times but who will be beside her when she faces the greatest challenge of her life? Will it be Joshua with his strong, quiet sensitivity or will it be Mike with his passion and zeal for life? Erin struggles to decide between what her heart needs and what her body craves but fate steps in and tips the scales.
My Review:
A good story with various original elements that'll surely draw any fans of the genre right into its pages!
Erin is in her 30's, successful and very...unfulfilled. She's had dreams, goals and various expectations of herself but left them all just sit and stew after experiencing a couple of traumatizing events in her life. Now she's caught in a love triangle and has been newly awaken in many ways. Erin has some serious decisions and changes to make, but can she actually do them all?
By the way the book ended, it seems as if this is to be the first of a series. I'm not sure if it's a cliffhanger per say because all of the main aspects were all covered. It's just one of those endings that leave a lot to the readers imagination...

Goodreads Blurb:
Mackenzie Duncan found out that pack life wasn’t for her. Now she is running for the second time in the six months since she was bitten and turned into a Werewolf. But this time, she isn’t alone. This time, she has Geoff and Liam with her, two very hot Werewolves vying for her heart.
But her companions aren't her focus. The only thing she can focus on is getting far from her old pack and their murderous ways. Only, she doesn’t just want to run. She wants to warn every pack she can that their lives are in danger too. No one should be turned against their will like she was and no other pack should have to surrender to the ideas of a centuries old, power hungry woman.
Not only does Mackenzie have to deal with her crazy ex-pack leader sending people out to kill her, she has to keep both men at arm’s length (and that proves to be much more difficult than she thought), but she finds out more about her own life and heritage than she ever thought imaginable.
And suddenly, everything makes sense...
My Review:
The Enlightening continued right from where The Tempering left off and was just as much fun and as exciting. Actually, it was even more so! It also contains a surprise or two for readers... Any fans of the genre will enjoy their time spent with this book.
Mackenzie is not only living a brand new life with too many changes to name. She's caught dead center in the middle of a love triangle and finds it virtually impossible to choose between the two men that have become an important part of her life. Both males are her best friends and both hold a large piece of her heart. But only one does things to her that cannot be denied...
We are left with various things to ponder and an ending I am itching to see continue, I just hope all finally falls in place for Mackenzie and were's everywhere!

Yearning Cover Reveal by Ashlynne Laynne

YEARNING: A BLOOD REBORN NOVEL “Destiny will not be denied.”
Like their siblings, Katy McCutchin—a powerful double Wiccan with otherworldly powers—and Gabe Rousseau—a full-blooded vampire—are destined. They’ve conquered many obstacles to be together. With their relationship at a crossroads and chaos erupting all around them, it’s time to take the steps that will finally link them for eternity.
About Ashlynne Laynne/Q. Lane Ashlynne Laynne/Q. Lane is a songwriter, poet and author of erotic paranormal and contemporary romance, who has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun-loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny.
She loves writing on the edge—combining the erotica and romance genres—and thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the wicked, damned version of Romeo and Juliet. She is currently working on book six of her Progeny Series, book one of her upcoming Alterity Series, and several novella spin offs. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write exclusively one day soon. Find and follow her online on Twitter. Check out her Manic Readers page, Blog and Website , or leave a note in her Reader Email.
She lives in North Carolina with her husband and son.
About The Progeny Series At its core, The Progeny Series is simply about a man and woman who fall in love. The fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. When we meet Ascher, he’s grumpy. Frankly, who could blame him? He’s engaged to seal to Ursula—a cold and careless vampire who wants nothing more than to get her hands on a bloodstone— and he feels conflicted about his existence.
All of that changes when he meets Shawnette McCutchin. She’s beautiful, intriguing and possesses some of the most potent blood that he’s ever smelled. A war immediately begins inside Ascher. He craves Shauna’s blood just as much as he craves her body and the closer they get, the harder it is for him to control his urges. After Ascher calls off the sealing to Ursula, the trouble begins. His family’s peaceful period ends when Ursula’s army attacks the Rousseaus.
This series encompasses a family dynamic of which we’ve never seen. The Rousseaus share a common mortal and immortal bloodline, but loyalty is the thread binding this clan. Shauna and Ascher’s dissuaded love only strengthens the family bonds. Their unique union transcends bloodlines and completes the prophecy, defying the beliefs of centuries old covenants while shattering the wall between the Wiccan and vampire worlds that has existed for ages. This series is erotic paranormal romance intended for adults, as it contains adult sensuality, language and themes.

Guest post with J.S. Wayne

Reader Love
By J.S. Wayne
You know, I had a dozen different ideas for this blog post, and I rejected every one of them. I just couldn’t seem to get my head right. Luckily for me, our lovely host was patient with my freak-out-ishness while I settled down enough to get something worth posting together. And here’s what I finally came up with. The most important people in a writer’s life, after family, friends, and lovers (and not necessarily in this order) are readers. Reviewers are great, editors are awesome, and of course we wouldn’t be where we are without publishers who liked our work enough to take a chance on us. But without readers, authors don’t mean a damn thing.
Of course, you can argue, and I sometimes do, that the converse is true: Without new authors trying new things, what would readers do? You’d be stuck with Dickens and Salinger. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, how many times could you read David Copperfield without wanting to try out that brand-new Mossberg twelve-gauge?
But that’s kinda not the point here. At least, not right now. The point is that writers need readers to make it worthwhile to write. If I didn’t have people who read my work and say, “This story made me really feel something!” I’d have to (shudder) get a “real job.” It’s those people who look at my work for the first time and take a chance, or the diehard fans who’ve known me since I first started at The House That Must Not Be Named, that are the whole reason I get up in the morning and do what I do. And sometimes, it’s the unknown but amazing folks who put in a writer’s name for something the author never expected…but that blow the author completely away.
So, to thank my readers, old and new, I can put out a blast on social media. I can get all teary-eyed and go cry in a corner. It seems to me, though, that the best way to thank all my readers and fans is to work on getting the next book out. If you believe in me enough to read my work, then I believe in you enough to write something else that I hope you’ll love just as much.
It’s how authors show love to readers, folks!
Thank you so much to A.R. for letting me come over and hang out today, and to you awesome readers for taking the time to spend a little while with me. I hope you’ll enjoy the sexy little excerpt I brought for your reading pleasure from The Gael and the Goddess, my brand-new release from Changeling Press!Even the heart of a goddess is subject to the whims of fate…
Every millennium, the Ocean Goddess, Yemala, makes a pilgrimage to the shore to continue good relations between land and wave. Leaving her watery realm in the hands of her Chancellor, the nymph Amphichrale, she travels to the surface for the first time in a thousand years. A lot has changed since she last surfaced, and the goddess immediately finds herself in the clutches of the mortal law... and unable to use her oceanic powers.
Liam McGrue is a hard-headed, hard-drinking, hardworking fisherman. He asks nothing of life but an easy catch during the day and a warm fire and a glass of whiskey at night. The fiery redhead who claims to have come from the sea itself intrigues him, and his rash, poetic Gaelic heart jumps to her defense and aid. But when he realizes she's not daft or telling him a tale, that she really is who and what she claims to be, Liam will have to choose between his lonely life on the surface and a completely new existence beneath the waves as the consort of a goddess.
A flash of scarlet from the tiny, rocky arm thrusting into the harbor caught his eye, and he turned to get a better look. Aside from the navigation lights, there was little color to be seen on the coast. The rocks were a uniform greenish gray, slick with moss and spray, pretty enough to look at in the sunset, to be sure, but certainly nothing of that particular color was usually present.
He frowned as he got a good look, and blinked. Thinking his eyes must be sporting him, he picked up the binoculars from their perch beside the wheel. Quickly he turned the thumbscrew to adjust the focus. The apparition blurred for a moment and then reappeared in sharp, clear definition.
His jaw dropped.
He'd never seen the likes of the woman about town before, he'd gladly swear to that in the village church. More to the point, he'd never seen a woman pacing placidly along the small promontory wearing only what attire God saw fit to send her into the world in, striding along like she hadn't a care in the world about what anyone might think.
Oh, she was a pretty one, right enough. Her proudly erect carriage bespoke a woman who had nothing to be ashamed of, a fact Liam could appreciate in more ways than one. Her breasts jutted out, just full and round enough without being too much of a good thing, and her belly offered the exact right amount of curve to look like she'd be right pleasant to curl up with on a chilly Irish night. Her buttocks and hips flared enough to give a man ideas, and her legs looked strong enough to wrap around a man and hold on until he begged her for mercy. A belt of gold interlinked with some silvery metal crested in stylized waves about the top of her hips, and the jewel hanging down in front drew his eye downward whether he willed it or not. The small stripe of hair at the top and center of her thighs drove the moisture from his mouth, wishing he could only stroke it, never mind what lay beneath. Topping her luscious body, a wavy mass of vibrant red hair flowed behind her like a queen's banner, adding to her proud but not haughty carriage.
"Bloody hell," he breathed, whispering a prayer of thanks to Jesus for making him a man and then putting him in this place, at this time, to see this stunning, staggering woman.
She turned, and for a moment he could have sworn she looked right through the lenses of binoculars, through his eyes, and right into his soul. The details of her face, each one exquisite in its own right, paled to insignificance next to the force of her gaze. Her eyes glowed brightly with an inner light to put amethysts to shame. She smiled, and it was as glorious and uncomplicated an expression as he'd ever laid eyes on, a grin of pure, free-spirited delight.
With a regal tilt of her head and a wicked wink of her eye, she turned away and kept walking, her pace unhurried and calm, as if she had all eternity and beyond to get wherever she might be bound.
What on earth was that lovely creature doing here? Now that he'd seen her face clearly, he was more certain than ever he'd never seen her about Malin Head. If he had, he'd have knocked over many a strong man and stormed the gates of heaven and hell alike just for the pleasure of sharing her table for an hour.
He didn't even dare consider what sharing a bed with such a woman might be like. His pants had tightened uncomfortably just from seeing her. Laying with her, in the Biblical sense, might be just the thing to send a man to heaven in the most literal way possible.
From somewhere deep in his brain, a sober, responsible voice piped up. She might be in trouble, or hurt. She certainly shouldn't be walking about the shore starkers. Wouldn't it make just a wee bit of sense to, er, call someone, ye sad, daft, desperately horny man?

My Review:
A fun, emotional and romantic story that's virtually impossible to put down once you get started. A definite must read for any fans of the genre!
Hindley is a different kind of girl. I don't know all that much about her from this story, except she's independent, smart, and beautiful and has secrets. She's just started her career in law and is determined to make it work. It becomes a bit difficult for her once she meets Rory and falls for him pretty much instantly!
I feel in love with Rory pretty quickly myself. This guy is perfectly imperfect. He's a talented skater and is trying to move forward in his life. A player and a man with many secrets and self-doubts is about to get an eye opener. What a glorious eye opener it is!
A great start to a new series that's sure to have the reader looking for more! My only negative about it is we don't get much information in Hindley. I hope that changes in book 2 because I'd really like to know what REALLY makes her...Hindley :)

My Review:A great continuation from Skater Boy (book 1 of the series) and just as good! A great read for any fans of the genre but I strongly suggest reading book 1 first. My Skater Boy is NOT a standalone read!
Hindley has a lot more secrets buried than I originally thought. Very deep ones! We learn a lot more about her, her past and the reasoning behind many of her actions. I truly adore this chick!
Rory is experiencing a variety of new, pretty much alien feelings and does not know how to control them or his actions. Once having his mind set in life and its direction and now set on much more. Can he do it and have it all?
I'm very happy with the ending to this story and how it took off from the first book. I adore all of the characters and even liked the evil step sister a bit by the end. A very satisfying read all around!

#WedBriefs Flash Fiction It's All in the Tips #5 by A.R. Von

Happy Hump Day and welcome to Wednesday Briefs Flash Fiction! As always, I was given various options to inspire this weeks brief. I chose to go with the 3 photos included below and the following word prompts: "I wished the earth would open up and swallow me whole." "What did you call me?" & "Are you kidding me?"
I hope you enjoy & thank you for reading!"It's All in the Tips #5"
“Are you fudge-fuckingly kidding me woman?” Is the reaction Marcia gets from Darla when she shares her new relationship stats with her.

Darla is on the verge of the color purple and starts to speak with her teeth clenched tight. “So you’re just now telling me that you’ve been the icing on those hot cinnamon buns, aka that hot piece over there for a couple of weeks and neither of your besties knew? You kept us BOTH out of the loop? Whatever happened to our sacred friendship and the inability to keep secrets from one another? I’m hurt. Like seriously internally injured! My heart officially has a crack that is stretched all the way through to my miniscule ego!”
I can’t help but to laugh. Darla always has a way of making things funny even when she’s totally serious. Gotta love that chick!
Feeling the heat of someone’s stare I slowly turn still baring the smile my friend’s antics have put on my face and quickly feel it slip right off even speedier than it came.

He must have felt my stare because he turns to me with an unreadable look on his face. There’s no mistaking the fire in his eyes. I mean I literally see a spark and flame in his eyes once they meet head on with mine. Right at that moment I wish the earth would open up and swallow me whole. I quickly turn my head and look down at the rubber floor mat, habitually counting the holes in it just to calm myself a little. I’m only half standing on because it shifted again, as it always does when it’s step on, walked on and even thought about. If it wasn’t for the safety factor and how slippery these tiled floors get behind the bar. I’d remove them myself! I really wish Linc would grab some new ones even just for behind the bar. I’ve twisted my ankle twice since I worked here because of these old POS.

I’ve raised my eyes and bit and am now looking at a dent in the bar remembering how it got there when. Suddenly I hear a woman’s raised voice venomously question “What did you call me?”
Then I hear Mr. Sexy’s rumbled retort, “I said get your whore claws off of me. I didn’t give you permission to touch me, ever. Leave. Now.”
He spoke so low and growly I’m surprised I was able to hear him. Then again, as I look to see his facial expression I notice he’s looking straight at me while he’s dismissing the bimbo.
My stomach jumps and drops as if it’s on its very own roller coaster ride. My hands get sweaty and my mouth goes dry. I suddenly get a visual of him all wet and half naked begging me to come dry him with my tongue…

I just can’t seem to get that female out of my mind and my nose. Her scent is trapped verypermanently in my memory. So much so I can taste her. She’s fucking delicious. And her thoughts, if only she knew I could hear what she was thinking. Mr. Sexy is what she called me. I like that. A lot!
The thought causes me to chuckle again. I really wanted to tell her my name and take her away with me. Bring her to my home and have her in every way possible. Feast upon her flesh with my eyes, my mouth and my hands. But something in my gut told me the timing was not right, yet. Now here I am walking into the place I saw her enter earlier.
After sending out some feelers to find out about her by using my resources, only two of my clan members came back with anything at all and it’s very little.
The two things they did find out are her name, Renee Chico, and that ‘Get Your Drink On’ is where she works and has worked for over six years now, that’s about it. I’m unsure if it’s a good thing or bad that there’s no more to be found about her.
I’d love to know if she’s single for starters. I don’t know what I’ll do if she taken. I want her. I actually think I need her. Her soul calls to me and my inner voice is telling me to just take her, that’s she’s mine and mine alone. But the angel on my shoulder, as always, is telling me to do the right thing and not be a Neanderthal. To introduce myself to her and go the traditional human route. Date her; get to know her as a person before getting physical with her. I know it’s going to be a veryhard task. Just her thoughts alone make me feel the need for a cold shower.
Then there’s the little fact that I’m not human. Well not a hundred percent anyway. None from my clan are. We are the only clan in the world that is mixed. What I mean by mixed is we have everything from reptile shifters to hot blooded, from witches to vampires. Yes, we are an odd group. But we are family and we all work and look out for one another like our own blood would never do…
