Kurt’s Recent Updates

Kurt Reichenbaugh and 206 other people liked Alice's review of Watchmen:
Watchmen by Alan Moore
"This keeps aging like fine wine — while that dash of sci-fi just makes the experience even richer."
Kurt Reichenbaugh and 53 other people liked Paul Secor's review of Post Office:
Post Office by Charles Bukowski
"I worked for the Postal Service for 34 years. I wasn't Charles Bukowski - had neither his talent nor his self destructive ways - but I can say that there's a lot of truth in this novel, along with humor and typical Bukowski attitude. One of his best." Read more of this review »
Kurt Reichenbaugh and 81 other people liked Petra X's status update
Petra X
Petra X added a status update: Some of these reviews I have done over the last week look old. They aren't. They were either just rtc or a single para.I'm just now getting round to writing reviews again as I'm fed up with isolation, it's wasting my life.I am still very anxious about interacting with people irl or virtually but I have told myself I can cut this off at any time I feel uncomfortable, it's all under my control. So far so good!
Kurt Reichenbaugh and 13 other people liked Bill's review of Double Indemnity:
Double Indemnity by James M. Cain
"After reading Agatha Christie’s The ABC Murders I picked up this classic noir novel and noticed that they were both published 90 years ago this year, and they have both stood the test of time very well.
Double Indemnity is a well plotted thriller wit" Read more of this review »

Awake and Die by Robert Ames

Kurt Reichenbaugh is on page 759 of 1392 of Europe: In one year, 1810, Napolean ordered 162 bottles of his favorite neroli-based cologne water from the parfumier Chardin. In a famous letter, he once begged Josephine not to bathe for two weeks before they met, so that he could enjoy all her natural aromas. When she died, he planted violets on her grave, and wore a locket made from them for the rest of his life. He was an unabashed odomane.

This book is not part of the Hardman series as the title indicates. It's a standalone, of sorts, featuring a government assassin named Kane whose memory has been "erased" after a botched job in Vietnam. Kane now resides outside Atlanta and is now mak ...more

George Orwell
“It was not desirable that the proles should have strong political feelings. All that was required of them was a primitive patriotism which could be appealed to whenever it was necessary to make them accept longer working hours or shorter rations. And even when they became discontented, as they sometimes did, their discontent led nowhere, because, being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances.”
George Orwell, 1984

I don't know, unless it was in Phx or Tampa. Have you been to either?
