Behind the Red Door by Clayton C. Bye

Behind the Red Door by Clayton C. ByeToday, I’d like to introduce the new collection of short stories from author, editor and publisher, Clayton C. Bye.

Behind the Red Door is an omnibus of short works, reflective of Clayton’s eclectic writing style and would make a fine addition to any reader’s personal library.

What will you find behind the red door?

Will it be humor?

Will it be horror?

Will you find stories both modern and fictional or will you find the end of the world?

Perhaps it will be all these things and more.

If there...

Kingdom of Lethe: An Excerpt

This is the first of ten excerpts from my short story collection in-the-works. This excerpt is from a futuristic-steampunk themed short story titled Kingdom of Lethe:

“Quite a mysterious feeling, isn’t it?” Anna smiled wistfully. She gazed up at the false moon, the pale pink orb nestled in the center of the starlit ceiling. “Surely it must have some deeply profound meaning.”

Still, Nedra hadn’t forgotten her purpose in coming here. She stood.

“Where are you going?” Anna queried.

“I’m a detect...

Spread Some Joy!

spreadsomejoy

I’d like to ask one small thing of you today.

I’d like you to stop what you’re doing and take a moment to think about how your dayis going.

Then I’d like you to share one good thing that recently happened or occurred to you.

It doesn’t matter how big or how small.

What matters is that it put a smile on your face.

My Real Life Supernatural Encounter

This is a story about that one time I thought I was being chased by a creature called a rolling calf.

Please, let me explain.

In Jamaican folklore, a rolling calf is a demonic calf-like beast that roams along roadways, terrorizing hapless travelers at night.

In the stories that I heard while growing up, anyone who encountered the rolling calf would hear the shudder-worthy clanking of its chain. During some telling, someone must have included the cloppity-clopping of its feet among the terrify...

Beenokle’s Inspiration Library

Inspiration Library is a Pinterest-like application that you can download to categorize and curate images and webpages in gallery format.

inspirationlibrary
Inspiration Library is the brainchild of Beenokle, creator of Zen Writer. The application isn’t free; it costs $14.95 after the free trial but I daresay it’s a purchase I do not regret.

So far, Inspiration Library has only one glaring shortcoming. Images can only be added one at a time. I’m hoping that as development continues, mass-uploading of images int...
