Grab Your Tissue!

Grab the tissues!I’ll share a giveaway at the end, so make sure you read all the way through! For now, however -The Rutherford Series has continued, and from what people have told me so far, it’s my most emotional read to date, and that doesn’t surprise me at all. Before we go much further, have you read the Rutherford Series yet? It started with my second release, Losing Faith, and took me two years to write the second book in the series, Roll the Dice, and finally, over six years since ...

The Joys of Writing in Other Worlds

As many of you know, I write in two other worlds besides those of my own imagination—Black Hollow and Dark Moon Falls. In both worlds, I am once again surrounded by talented, creative ladies, just like in my every day life. Writing in a world that someone else created, however, has it’s upsides as well as its downsides. This week, I thought I would share some of the joys with you that keep me writing in these two worlds. I’ll upfront and tell you I didn’t plan on ever writing in another world...

Traditions Change

I love the last three months of the year, but even more than that I love Christmas. Not for the gifts, mind you, although those are a pretty nifty bonus. No, I love the feeling of family that surrounds us. Even the grumpiest of people seem to be a little more pleasant, and not counting the fighting at the stores over that special doll everyone’s daughter seems to want, people get along better. I also love the decorations, the lights, and the music. I’m more a traditional type of guy when it...

The Thanksgiving Mindset

This week in the States, we’re celebrating Thanksgiving, and this year our table’s going to be pretty small. Oh, not the table itself or the amount of food on it. I make sure the girls pile that table high with everything I’ve come to expect at Thanksgiving: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato pie, green bean casserole, stuffing, deviled eggs, olives, sweet pickles, and so, so much more. I’m getting full just thinking about it. No, when I say small this year, I mean by the amount...

Holidays & Giveaways

Holidays and GiveawaysI don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know that the last three months of the year are my favorite. I love the change in weather, the decorations, the food, the festivities, the food, the sense of family that surrounds us, and of course, the food. I also love the story ideas that come pop into my head with Halloween and Christmas, and this year, I have two fantastic tales for you—I

The Dedication: The most important page of the book

The creative process of drafting a unique story has always drawn me to writing, and if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I wrote to avoid listening to my teachers during school. While they would drone on about algebraic equations or how the tea party really occurred, I was busy slaying dragons with tiny people I called tarps, and no that story has never seen the light of day. I get lost in the flow of the possibilities of endless worlds and danger behind every rock, and once...

Losing My Fluffy Side

I’m more of a goal-setter than a resolution guy at the beginning of each new year, but this year, the girls made a New Years Resolution for me without even consulting me. I tried telling them that wasn’t how it worked, but they either weren’t listening or didn’t care. I even pointed out how rude it was to make goals for me without consulting me, but again, my whining, which is what they called it, fell on deaf ears. I was forced into surrendering and not even Bagheera, our cat, seemed to be o...

Introducing Destined Mates

Kindle Worlds went away, closed the doors, put up a CLOSED sign, and said thanks for being a part but we’re moving onto something else. What that something else is, I have no idea. However, we took it as a sign to move onto something new ourselves. While I am grateful for being a part of Milly Taiden’s Sassy Ever After world in KW, we made the decision to take back the rights to my stories and integrate them into my paranormal world, Draven Falls. While Draven Falls will be set in North Carol...

Same Beginning, Different Endings

One of the reasons I enjoy exploring relationships in my writing is the discovery of diverse endings to the same situation. In The Harper Twins series, both Karla and Aimee lost their innocence to boys who wanted in their pants, but not in their hearts. However, the girls responded in vastly different ways. For Karla, it was a lesson in the power she wielded between her legs, giving her the ability to be the manipulator, instead of the manipulated. It drove her outward, causing her to throw h...

That Feel of a Book

In a day of technology, I find it odd that I have several friends who despise digital books. Some of these friends are even authors who make a living selling eBooks. They much prefer the texture of a physical book in their hands, the smell of the paper and covers, the weight of the tome in their hands and lap as they settle in to enjoy a tale of adventure. To be honest, I don’t really blame them. I love those things about physical books as well and have shelf upon shelf of stories and signed...
