Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to be in Emery Branson's mind? Well, wonder no more! Here's a small segment based during American Girl on Saturn of Emery getting ready for her birthday party!!
I hate this stupid kitty cat shirt. It's so stupid and pink and I can't believe my mom really thinks I'd wear this stupid thing for my birthday. Kittens are for five year olds. I'm six. I don't wear stupid kitty cat shirts anymore. 
I peek outside the door to make sure my sisters aren't around. They're always sneaking out of their rooms to see these boys. It's stupid. Milo is so boring, and Jules is a jerkface. I don't know why they even like them. At least Tate is funny and Benji is cute. 
As fast as I can, I run down the hallway and into Benji's room. I slam the door shut behind me and then listen really good to make sure no one is coming. I don't hear anyone. They're all helping Mom get ready for my party. Except Aralie. She's probably hiding in her room with her headphones in thinking about how much she hates Jules. But then she'll kiss him later. I don't understand any of it. 
I walk over to Benji's clothes and look through them. He dresses better than the other boys in Spaceships Around Saturn, so if I want to look cool, I gotta wear something of his. I'm not wearing this stupid kitty shirt. I don't care what my mom says. Ohhh, there's that red one he had on the other day. I don't know what SLUT says, but I don't care. SLUT is cooler than this dumb smiley faced kitten. 
I pull Benji's shirt over my head like a ninja on a secret mission. I definitely look cool now. Time to party!

I is for Isabella's Vinyl
One of the best parts of being "in with the band" is the special perks that coincide with it. In Darby's case, that means access to VIP shows - such as the one in Kids In Love. The guys perform a special private acoustic show at a historic record store in Darby's town called Isabella's Vinyl. The show, of course, is amazing and intimate and every Saturnite's dream. But what happens after the show is another story...

P is for Paparazzi
Darby McMillon never had to worry about photographers snapping pictures of her every move before meeting the SAS guys. She didn't have to worry about people chasing her down for a picture in the produce department of her local grocery store. The Branson sisters have to worry about just that every day of their lives now that they're dating SAS boys, but when word leaks around the universe that there may be a spark between Darby and Tate, the paparazzi are more than interested in what's going on. E is for Emery

The Branson sisters are all part of the Saturn world, but Emery is a bit too young to attend events, walk the red carpet, and do the many things her older sisters (who are Saturn girlfriends) get to do. However, Emery is very popular with the Saturnite fandom, so today we’re celebrating her on the Kids In Love countdown with Emery’s top five moments!

5) Crushed ladybugs
Emery picks up the remote, turns the TV on, and flips directly to the music channel for the premiere. As the beautiful boy next to me predicted, she invites herself to divide Jenji in half and inserts herself into the equation.
Ten seconds later, Emery stands up. 
“I can’t sit by you, Jules,” she says.
She gravitates in our direction and crawls into the gap between Tate and Noah. 
Then she makes her announcement. “Jules smells like crushed ladybugs.”

4) Being Forced to Keep Secrets
“Next month,” Lauren says. “We had planned to go sooner, but since Paige’s trip got unexpectedly cancelled, we rescheduled so she could go with us. It’s not really fair that she has to miss out since other people apparently had issues.”
“Yeah,” Emery agrees. She props her little elbows on the table and leans forward. 
We all wait in this epic moment of silence – like in a movie – waiting for the building to explode or zombies to erupt from the ground. 
“That’s like…” Emery pauses and looks at me. Then she looks back at Paige and Lauren. “It’s like when you tattle on someone because they are naked in your sister’s room. Then you get in trouble for tattling, but the naked person doesn’t get in trouble for being naked.”

3) The Scarf
“My blue scarf,” I say. “Blue is subtle and serious and…”
“Boring,” Emery says with her mouth full. “Can we talk about something else? This is my birthday, and I don’t wanna talk about those stupid boys.”
The gig is up. Emery really does know. I don’t know what she knows or how she knows, but she spilled my Milo secret moments ago inside. She definitely knows. 
Aralie sighs. “Have you heard us say their names? No. We’re talking about clothes and accessories.”
“No, you’re not,” Emery says. “No one wears a scarf in the summer. It’s too hot.”

Aralie tackles us and kisses Emery on the cheek. Emery laughs and tells us that we’re annoying just like Tate and Noah, but she giggles until we hear the ladder creak again. 
We pull apart instantly and sit perfectly still. I can’t even hear myself breathe. I knew it’d come down to this. Someone would eventually come out here to offer an apology on behalf of the band. 
Then Emery says exactly what we’re all thinking.
“Uh oh. Here comes a scarf.”

2) Life sucks
“Is our house always this damn quiet?” she asks, hands on her hips.
“Aralie, language,” Mom reminds her. “We’re just used to having company.”
“Mom,” Aralie says in that ‘who are you kidding’ tone. “The house was never this quiet before lockdown. Emery isn’t even talking. It’s like someone died. Do you know how much our lives are going to suck after lockdown ends?”
Emery stabs the elephant with her gray crayon, over and over, like she’s murdering the paper. It rips, and the crayon marks on the table. 
“My life sucks right now!” Emery screams, throwing her crayon against the wall. 

1) Playing House
Emery stands up and walks around the room. She stops in front of Jules. 
“Since Aralie won’t marry you, I guess you can be my dog,” she says.

What is the best and worst part of being a Saturn girlfriend?
Best part: I never have to worry that my boyfriend won't be able to pay for our date.
Worst part: Everything else. I know that sounds terrible. Jules is great – seriously, absolutely amazing. But all this fandom craziness and paparazzi and stalkers and crap? I could do without all of it. 

How has yours and Jules' relationship changed since lockdown ended? Do you try to talk to each other daily?
It's been a little different because he's so busy, and the band has had nonstop promo events, but we text all the time, and he calls me when he has a free minute just so we can actually talk for a moment. It's a lot of work, but you do what you have to.

What is the craziest thing that has happened to you since it became public knowledge that you were dating a SAS guy?
People seriously sit outside our house, outside of the gates, taking photos of us. They take pictures of us in the grocery store. We're like small town celebs now. I hate it. I feel like one of those crazy old ladies because I want to scream, "Get the eff off my lawn, motherf*ckers!" 

How did meeting Darby McMillon go over, and what did you think of her?
Umm... Well... It went. Darby and I are very different. She's nice and all, but I pretty much hate the fandom, and she's one of the fandom queens, so we are from two very different worlds. 

Are you nervous about senior year and how people are going to treat you because of your new-found fame?
I'm dreading going back to school because I like being normal. I know, I know - I threw away normal when lockdown happened, and I chose not to be normal by dating Julian Rossi. My parents have already said that if it's too bad, I can do homeschooling to get my diploma. I'm pretty sure I'll be dropping out of public school the first week. 

If you could go back and change one thing about lockdown, what would it be?
Emery's birthday party. I would've jumped across the table and slapped Jules instead of just screaming at him. (Sorry, Em. Love you. But YOU were the one wearing the Benji mask, so you technically started everything.) 

Have your feeling toward Noah Winters changed any, or is he still the most annoying person in the universe to you?
HAHAHAHA! There was a lot of miscommunication and misinterpretations during lockdown. Now that all the secrets are out and we're all acting like humans (except Tate, obviously), Noah's definitely cool. I can totally hang with him.

Are there any Saturn secrets you can let the fans in on?
Hmm... Chloe has a very exciting job offer/proposition in the works, and we're waiting for a phone call from someone very awesome to confirm if it's going to go through. I'm SO excited for her, and I can't wait for her to be able to announce it! :D

Also, thank you for having me today! I apologize for my late arrival. My driver had a terrible sense of direction and got us lost a few times. Better late than never, though, yes?

P is for Premieres!

There is always something magical about video premieres from your favorite musician. What if you and your family got invited to go to the premiere? Imagine getting to walk with the band past all the adoring, screaming, and crying fans and getting to see the video the first second it's shown to the world. Well, courtesy of Tate Kingsley, Darby and the rest of the McMillon family get to do just that!

Darby, of course, is worried about tripping in front of all those cameras and fans. She's stressing over what to wear, and she knows that this is the moment entire world will know that she is in with the band. So, there's a lot of pressure on her.

E is for Envious Fans and S is for Spaceships Around Saturn's Security Team

Hey Saturnites! Sorry I missed my post yesterday, but I was pretty busy and didn't have time to do it. Today you get two posts in one!

There's one thing every Saturn girlfriend, and anyone close to the SAS boys, have to deal with - envious fans. You have fans who want the boys to be happy, even if that means their crush is dating another girl, but others won't stand for it. Darby soon finds out that some of her fandom friends who she thought would never turn on her start sending death threats. They accuse her of 'changing' and 'neglecting her vlog'. She learns very quickly that not everything is stardust and moonlight in the SAS world.

Can she get her Saturnite status back on track, or will she lose everything she's worked for over the years as she gets closer to Tate Kingsley?


SAS Securitttty

Everyone who is anyone in the SAS fandom knows who Tank Rodriguez is. He's tall, built, Cuban, Benji Baccarini's best friend, and SAS's head bodyguard. When Tank isn't helping out the SAS guys, he's privately employed by the Branson family to watch out for Chloe and Emery (Aralie said she didn't need a bodyguard!), and he mainly sticks with Chloe, Milo, and Benji during Saturn events. 


Let's move on to Axel. On planet Saturn, it is his job to make sure the candy-loving boy, Tate Kingsley, remains safe at all times. Watching out for Tate means he also watches out for Darby. Want to know more about Tate's bodyguard? Of course you do. ;)

Darby is one of the few Saturnites to ever step foot onto a Spaceships Around Saturn video set. The music video (song title to be announced at a later date :D) for their latest song is based in a snowy scene that Darby describes as "the middle of December dropped into a California summer." Rumor has it that one of the girls from the first book will be the star of the video?

Obsessions come in many forms. I tend to obsess over fictional characters to the point it's unhealthy, but hey, I'm a writer so it's okay... right? A lot of people obsess over boybands. One Direction being the most popular like everrrr, but for Darby nothing, and I mean NOTHING, touches Spaceships Around Saturn (Tate Kingsley in particular).

L is for Loving a Band Member

In honor of today's title, we have the band member who Darby McMillon loves the most- THE Tate Kingsley-  is stopping by to answer a few questions


What was your initial thought when you met Darby?

"Oh cool! The internet girl! I think she likes me..."

How has your life changed since lockdown ended?

It just hasn't stopped. Lockdown was actually a nice vacation. We've had radio interviews and appearances pretty much every day since we left the Branson house. But it's been fun!

Do you plan on getting Darby to help you with your pranks later?

Hahahaha! If she's willing!

What is you best memory from your lockdown at the Branson house?

Watching Chloe and Aralie get pissed off because of my head on their doors. I can't believe they seriously blamed each other for that. They're not clever enough to come up with my pranks! Emery, though, now she's a different story. 

What has been your favorite thing ever said to you by a fan?

Oh that's a tough one. I've had some people say some crazy stuff to me. I think the best one was the girl in Minnesota who just started screaming 'Blueberry pancakes!' over and over, like right in my face. When I asked her what she was talking about, she said she loved SAS and we saved her life and she needed us to know that. I guess it worked because she definitely got my attention. 

How has the shooting from a few months ago affected your life on tour? 

So much more security! I thought we'd be cool and get to wear bulletproof vests and stuff, but management just told Tank to hire more people for the security team. I try not to live any differently, though. It was just one crazy dude with a gun. It's not like people shoot at us regularly.

Do you still collect phone numbers, or has that ended since meeting Darby?

If a girl offers me her number, I take it - you know, to be polite. But I never call any of them. 

Anything you'd like to say to the Saturnites?

THAAAAANKKKK YOUUU for sticking around and believing in us and having our backs and being the best fans in the universe. I can't wait to see you guys on tour! Bring me candy! :D

There are very few things more romantic than lying on a trampoline with your crush under a night sky full of stars. For Darby, it's probably THE most romantic thing ever seeing as it's Tate Kingsley she's lying beside. They draw patterns in the stars and each make a wish.She's a girl full of wishes, but that night she only gets one wish on one star.
