R is for Rossi

I think most writers like to give shout outs to the people they love/really really like
in their books. I do, aaaand so does Nikki.

The SAS bad boy Jules got the last name Rossi because I absolutely adore Joe
Mantegna's character David Rossi on Criminal Minds. Milo and Noah got their
middle names from two of Nikki's real favorite Canadian boys David Desrosiers and
Pierre Bouvier from the band Simple Plan (David's her ultimate Canadian Love.) SAS's
PR rep is none other than our mother's best friend/our second mother Mrs. Wendy.

There's plenty of other links to the real world and other real people! You can see
them all for yourselves in 20 days!!

The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom - but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys...in their house.

Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren't happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can't escape Emery's fangirlisms for more than three minutes.

But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being "out of this world." If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn't want to come back to Earth.     American Girl On Saturn on Goodreads  Nikki's Blog  Nikki's Twitter  Nikki's Facebook Author Page

A is for Amazzzzzing

Nikki did try her very very hardest to make SAS unlike the world famous boyband 1D, but one thing did slip by. Liam Payne's love for extra letters in words on twitter. Our beloved Milo Grayson does the same thing. For example he thinks that the SAS fans are amazzzzzing and that they're the best fans everrrrr!

I would seriously think that you guys are amazzzzzing if you bought this book in 21 days! :)

S is for Spaceships Around Saturn

S is for Spaceships Around Saturn
Spaceships Around Saturn is THE boyband to know! You have to know of the adorable Tate Kingsley? What about the heart throb Benji Baccarini? Bad boy Jules Rossi? How about tatted Noah Winters? You MUST know Milo Grayson?

No!?

Oh, yeah... the book's not out yet! Well, that is quite unfortunate. In 22 days the book will be out, and you must all go buy it and love all of these boys! Okay, one will be enough. Maybe two.

I won't say much about them because before this month is over, they'll stop by themselves to give us some extra info about themselves!! :)

What you need to know is:

Tate Kingsley is the most random, fun member of SAS. He loves pulling pranks and having a good time. There's never a serious moment with him around. He'll always keep you smiling.

Benji Baccarini may be the heart throb, but he can be a diva at times too. You'll see him wearing a blue friendship bracelet with a frayed string that was made by our very own Emery Branson (his BFF.) Oh! And try not to mention his tattoos or Twitter over breakfast...he may get a little cranky.

Julian "Jules" Rossi has a quick temper and usually smells like cigarettes. This could be the reason he has the least amount of Twitter followers. He's not all bad, though. I promise! He loves his Saturn brothers (and you will too!)

Noah Winters will not speak to you before he has his morning strawberry milk. So, don't try talking to him until you know he has it in his system. He has the most tattoos of the SAS guys, but he keeps them well hidden. You may get to see a few the other Saturnites didn't know about while you read about his stay at the Branson house.

Milo Grayson...is perfect. He has caramel eyes that make you want to melt. He's so calm and serious and level headed that you sometimes question if he is a real human boy or if he really is from Saturn! I hope you guys can hold back the butterflies when he's around because I had trouble hiding mine when he stepped onto the pages!

22 days, people! Then you can find out all kinds of amazing things about these Saturn boys!!

P is for Pizza

I don't think I have ever met a person who didn't like pizza! Now our darling Branson  sisters and the guys of SAS aren't an exception! Even though everyone is on lockdown, the Branson sisters must keep and appearance that everything is normal. There are only so many lies you can tell about why you can't hang out before people start getting suspicious.

So their Mom tells Chloe and Aralie to meet up with two of their girl friends for pizza...but they have to take Emery with them. Emery's poor little five - almost six - year old brain wants to scream out to the world that the SAS guys are hiding in her house, but Chloe and Aralie convince her to stay quiet.

But what happens when the guys' new hit single starts playing at the pizza parlor? Can Emery stay calm when she hears Benji's voice coming from the speakers?

Find out in 23 days!!

I is for Interview

What's up, Saturnites? I decided the I in Spaceships Around Saturn would be for interview. So, I came up with some questions for Nik about her book! And here they are (with her answers obviously)! :)

1. What inspired you to write American Girl On Saturn?

Oh Emily. The book was YOUR idea. I just wrote it. But it was inspired by a love for music and a certain British-Irish boyband. Maybe people have heard of them. They're called One Direction.

2. What was the funnest scene to write?

There's a scene where Emery is sitting at the dining room table coloring a picture of an elephant in her coloring book. It's a short scene, but the dialogue was fun, and it shows what life is really like when you have three sisters who are going crazy.

3. What was the hardest scene to write?

Chloe and Milo's first kiss. I'm the rare YA writer who hates writing kiss scenes. You can only kiss someone so many ways, you know?

4. Who would you say you are most like in AGOS?

It's pretty obvious to anyone who knows me that I'm a lot like Chloe - the calm, older sister who tries to keep everything together. I based her favorite band, Sebastian's Shadow, off of my favorite band Hawthorne Heights. But unlike her, I can't draw.

5. If you could hang out with one of the SAS boys for a day, who would you choose and why?

Noah Winters! I think he'd just be a lot of fun. He knows how to be serious when he has to be, but he also knows how to goof off and have fun. Sure, he has his diva moments, but I think he'd be the most likely to mesh with my personality.

6. Did you ever get starstruck over any of your characters while writing this?

Oh yesssss. Milo Grayson and I had some very intense moments. Writing through Chloe's point of view and going through some of her emotions with her, it was hard not to be starstruck over Milo.

7. If Spaceships Around Saturn was a real boyband in our real world, would you buy their music?

Most definitely! I'd blast them in my truck every morning on the way to work and dance in the driver's seat in the middle of downtown traffic while I'm sure the person in the next car is staring at me asking themselves WTF I'm doing. (I do this to One Direction most mornings.)

8. You write really epic sibling relationships. (I'll gladly take credit for that since I'm kind of like the most epic sibling ever. You're so lucky!) You also tend to put them in your books. Do you feel like more books should have sibling relationships in them?

Haha. You're so freaking hilarious. :p To answer the question at hand, though: I think it's something that's overlooked a lot in novels. Too many YA novels focus on only children because it's easier for a plot line. But most people I know have siblings. I have them, obviously. It's something that I naturally write because it's weird not to.

9. What song do you think sets the feel of American Girl On Saturn?

"Lightning in a Bottle" by The Summer Set

10. What do you hope readers will take from American Girl On Saturn?

I have three things. 1) I hope they laugh. This book is lighthearted and fun, and if Emery's dog line doesn't crack you up, then you lead a sad life, and I'll send you hugs. 2) I hope they enjoy at least one character. I hope they can relate to someone and enjoy spending time with them during their reading experience. And 3) I hope music lovers can relate in general. Even if they don't connect with the boyband craze, there are other musical elements that play a part in this book (Sebastian's Shadow, especially). Music is a universal language, so I hope anyone who reads it can take something away from it.

Nikki Godwin is a Young Adult author from the southern USA. She is a city girl who can't live without Mountain Dew, black eyeliner, Hawthorne Heights, and candles from Bath & Body Works. When not writing, she's not-so-secretly internet-stalking her favorite bands. She is slightly obsessed with rock stars and surfers. She no longer hides her love for One Direction.

H is for Hot Air Balloons!

Since Chloe was a one year old and Aralie was an infant, the Branson family had always gone to the Up Up and Away Festival (a prequel of sorts for the big 4th of July fireworks show). But seeing as they're on Lockdown, the Branson family will have to skip out on it this summer. Obviously, they're all really upset about it. I mean, who wouldn't be? It's the only thing they all do as a family, and now it's been ruined. What the girls don't know is that Milo Grayson is absolutely fabulous and has a mega awesome surprise for them all.

Do you want to know what the awesome surprise is? Then you need to buy American Girl On Saturn in 25 days!!!

S is for Secrets

Secrets are a big thing in American Girl On Saturn. Obviously the boys being at the Branson's house during lockdown is a huge secret from the world. For reasons of their own, Chloe and Milo decide to keep their relationship during the time of lockdown, but they're not the only ones keeping secrets. The other two Branson sisters have secrets of their own.

Can all these secrets stay secrets, or will they all come spilling out across the dining room table?

E is for Emery

Emery Branson is the youngest of the three Branson sisters. She's five (about to be six) when the story begins, and she is the ULTIMATE Saturnite.

Emery is just freaking adorable. She's blunt yet sweet. You'll love the relationship between Chloe and her. She declares from the beginning that Benji Baccarini (the SAS heart throb) is HERS (and no, she will not share). She makes all kinds of crafts like friendship bracelets and posters for the boys of SAS. Throughout the book, she basically becomes one with Benji's shadow and hardly ever gives the boy a moment of peace, but there is one occasion where she willingly leaves her darling Benji Baccarini's side.

She has a cuteness about her that you can't help but love, but you do have to watch out what you say or do when she's around (and knowing this sneaky kid, she is always around) because she hates keeping secrets, and eventually, everyone will end up knowing.

Can this adorable kid keep the biggest secret ever, or will she spill to the world that THE Spaceships Around Saturn is hiding out in her house?

C is for Chloe

Chloe Branson is the main character in American Girl On Saturn. She's the most calm of the three Branson sisters, and she's just outright awesome!

The end of her senior year of high school was ruined by her crappy ex-boyfriend and his clique of friends. All she wanted was to go to Cancun with her best friend and Aralie to forget about all the stupid drama, but alas, Spaceships Around Saturn had to get shots fired at them, and her Cancun trip was canceled because her family had to go on lockdown to protect the oh-so-amazing Canadian boys.
Luckily for Chloe, Milo Grayson just happened to be in Spaceships Around Saturn, and, TRUST ME!, he is so so so much better than a trip to Cancun! Chloe's feelings change from being star struck over the beautiful boyband member to a lot more when he decides to talk to her one night while sharing a few Oreos.

The question is: Can she keep the butterflies in her stomach at bay while she's hanging out with this Saturn boy?

Find out in 28 days!

A is for Aralie

Hello, Saturnites! As the title says, A is for Aralie! As in Aralie Branson. (The best Branson sister...because she's a lot like me!)

Aralie (Air-uh-lee) Branson is the middle Branson sister. She has a quick temper and even quicker
comebacks. She's a punk rocker girl who is less than thrilled when she finds out that Spaceships Around Saturn is going to be crashing at her house while they hide out from crazy people with guns. She thinks her summer has been ruined by the SAS Lockdown, but what she doesn't know is that she may end up being a Saturnite herself, or worse, she could even end up falling for a Saturn boy!

You know you're curious! Go add American Girl On Saturn to your 'to-read' list and wait impatiently for August 29th!
