Pride and Prejudice

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
One of my all time favorites. Elizabeth the epitome of beauty with brains - a true woman of substance! Always loved the protagonists in Austen's novels. They were women and strong at that....great role models for women in their times as well as ours!

The Kite Runner

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this one. Especially the way the author bares the truth about how we can dislike someone who brings within us the feeling of guilt and shame. And all the while the other person might not even be aware of it or never would have ever judged us and had any ill feelings towards us! And that guilt sometimes never leaves us. Instead haunts us till we have had the courage to face it and owe up to it. Proves us that we can hide from everyone except for our conscience. Sad and poignant!

Kaleidoscope

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Beautiful story about how destiny shapes each of our lives and beliefs! Life of every member of the same family can be so different instead of having the same upbringing. Sometimes life takes a twist and the person you loved most can be right on the opposite side of your world whether be it physically or be it emotionally!
I loved the third and the youngest protagonist here as she was well balanced and made good of her life. I have always loved stories about siblings and families being from a family of six myself!

My Feudal Lord

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Painful to learn about a different life altogether...the oppression and tyranny haunts you entirely leaving you in a cloud of gloom and despair. But then almost like a two-edged sword your curiosity will be piqued and the feeling of desolation would not keep you from wanting to know the end of the story.

Once In A Lifetime

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Very inspiring! I read this one over and over again in college. But I am certain I wouldn't be able to do that now. In retrospect I feel it was too sad. Life cannot be that sad. But then again that's my way of viewing it, my summation of life experiences. Far beyond lies so much of the unknown still unexplored. Sometimes you can never know. But I would surely thank the universe for every blessing in my life, big or small!

Little Women

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this book as a young reader. Can't recollect the number of times I have read and re-read! I had a soft spot for Beth. But I could totally identify myself with Amy, me being the youngest of all four siblings...lol! Meg was like my eldest sister the matured one, the nurturer and the care taker, someone I absolutely hero worshipped. And Jo was like my second sister the rebel with a mind of her own but of course my sister was quieter and less belligerent compared to Jo. But there was no Beth in my family, maybe that's the reason for her being my favourite. My brother came in the third place instead and I was forever wailing about him to my mom and my elder sisters....yeah I could totally relate to this family!

Twilight

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Last read a Mills and Boon way back in school. Reading twilight was like revisiting a Mills and Boon novel all over again. Very romantic and the fantasy element was the icing on the cake. But my thirteen year old niece drove me up the wall me with her nonstop humdrum about Robert Pattinson at every god given opportunity...lol!
