A Little Princess

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another book I loved as a child and read a countless times. Deeply felt the sense of loss for Sara on losing her father. The ending was pure poetic justice and it also showed me how superficially people can behave as per your social status. But of course even that was relatively unfathomable at such an early age as that.

Robinson Crusoe

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved Robinson Crusoe from start to finish. As a child loved fantasing about how it would be like to be abandoned alone in an island like that and what resources I could or would have used!

Great Expectations

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another of my favourite classics! I thought Estella was really lucky to be loved by Pip the way he did and was definitely peeved with her airs and graces....Thank heavens Dickens revised it again all due to the dissatisfaction expressed by his fellow authors about it having a sad ending. He changed that to give it a better closure by leaving some hope for the relationship of Pip and Estella albeit ambiguous. All in all I enjoyed this book a lot.

Oliver Twist

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oliver Twist made a huge impression on me as a young girl of nine and made me realise how blessed I was! Oliver's words,"Please, sir, I want some more," truely stirred my heart strings everytime I read it. Truely one of Charles Dickens greatest novel for all ages and so easy to read and understand.

Far from the Madding Crowd

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I will mention the same review as I mentioned for the other Hardy novel I read, which is about the tragic element in Hardy's novels that always left me sad and depressed. I liked this less than "A pair of blue eyes," but then good that I read it as reading a classic always enriches one's vocabulary and command over the English language.
