Hold the Dream

Hold the Dream (Emma Harte Saga #2) Hold the Dream by Barbara Taylor Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Although I loved the Emma Harte series but actually Paula Harte was the woman I truly idolised. She was completely that epitome of a balanced woman who made a success of not only her career but also her marriage and her children. A great role model. And oh how I used to drool over Shane, her boyfriend turned husband! I saved a lot of quotes from this book too and wrote them in my diary religiously…..those were the days…lol…But I was aghast at the movie staring Lindsay Wagner and Anthony Hopkins as they changed the script completely and tried to give a Hollywood flavour to it!

A Woman of Substance

A Woman of Substance (Emma Harte Saga #1) A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book really inspired me in high school. Wanted to be a world class entrepreneur just like Emma Harte! Helped me to work very hard where my studies were concerned. Used to pick up all the inspiring quotes of the book and write them religiously in my diary. Then look it up from time to time. I was quite serious about them you see..lol...I still have those quotes. My niece found this diary not so long ago and showed it to me. She was very curious about them. Emma Harte was this lean mean hard working example who motivated me to work harder for all my dreams and projects.

To Be the Best

To Be the Best (Emma Harte Saga #3) To Be the Best by Barbara Taylor Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The title remains permanently etched in my mind like a reminder that is "To be the best." A very beautiful novel but feel sad for the tragedy that strikes Paula's brother Philip here.

Act of Will

Act of Will Act of Will by Barbara Taylor Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another inspiring novel! The protagonist Christina's first love affair was very sad and touching. Loved the fact that she had the strength to let go and move on and yet make a success of her marriage with the second love of her life!

Voice of the Heart

Voice of the Heart Voice of the Heart by Barbara Taylor Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a little sad. Imagine to wait for almost twenty five years to reunite with the love of your life for a relatively small misunderstanding...sigh! But the heroes in Barbara Taylor's books were really something...they were truely my idea of an ultimate dream man at that time!

Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia

Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia by Jean Sasson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved to know all about a different culture altogether! Really feel for the protagonist here. A story well told about the life of woman brought up under a conservative and restrictive mould!

Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved this one and great knowing about a different culture and profession altogether...A story well told about the life of a geisha! The book is better than the movie in the sense you can understand the feelings and emotions of the protagonists better!
