I Just Created A New Character Driven Blog...
During the holidays I thought about a Christmas project I'd like to have ready for 2014. I'd already been considering doing a vampire novel, set in my Para-Earth series but had not decided on a time frame. Well, now I have.
"The Vampyre Blogs" will be coming out just after Thanksgiving 2014 if all goes well. It will be the first of what I hope will be many installments involving this character and his friends.
Like Bram Stoker's "Dracula" I'm using journal entries to tell the story, while also giving first person points of view, from a variety of different characters who appear in the novel.
So come and check out the "The Vampyre Blogs" and get your first glimpse into the life of the first vampire from the Para-Earth Series.

My Newest Creation: "The Vampyre Blogs--Private Edition"
I run a couple of blogs where I've discussed aspects of writing, promoted my novels, and done some book reviews.
But currently, I started two mirror-blogs. These are blogs that are identical it's just one is under Wordpress, the other is under Blogger. Some people prefer one format over the other, so I made both.
However, those identical blogs are actually an experiment I'm conducting to help build an audience for my first vampire novel coming out in December of this year. The book's title is "The Vampyre Blogs", and I'm doing the entire story in the style of Bram Stoker's "Dracula". "Dracula" was entirely made up of journal, diary, and letter entries from different characters that told the story when in the right sequence.
I'm attempting to do the same thing with my novel, but using Blog and E-journal entries. I'm using this method so I can tell the story in the first-person, but from multiple points of view.
As for the two blogs, I'm doing entries by characters and my vampire which will NOT be appearing in the novel. Instead, these will give some insight into the characters themselves and some background information that may only be touched on briefly in the book.
I am one of those readers who always wanted more insight into some of the characters in books, and I thought here was a great way of giving my future readers that info, as well as wetting their appetites for the book itself when it comes out.
So if anyone would like to start meeting these people and getting to know some of their personalities, here's your chance. Leave comments here or at the whichever incarnation of the blog you check out.

Cause and Effect, Interest In My First Novel "THE BRIDGE" Is Increasing After The Release Of My Second Book "THE SHIP"...
All right fellow writers, here's some food for thought....
I was told in the past that as you got more books out, your earlier titles people might develop an interest in your earlier titles. This seems to be the case as I've been seeing some new activity on "THE BRIDGE". Not a lot of purchases, but more than I've seen in a while. There are also new reviews being posted on Amazon. Here's one of them...

This was my first book I read by an indie author. I met Allan a year ago on LinkedIn and, both being budding writers, we shared ideas and situations to do with writing. I was given the opportunity to read his book and took it.
It is my opinion that the story line is strong and very convincing. The book has a great deal of well developed characters, although I find a few of these character traits not fitting the situation the person is in, this could just be me with a biased opinion on how people should behave sometimes. Overall the characters are real enough to be believed and liked by the reader, I did.
The story has several layers which, although coming together at the end, do not always seem clear at the time they develop. Some of the events were hard for me to reconcile but this is life after all. Not everything that happens is clear why or how, so why not in a book. I did however ask myself this question a few times and perhaps the story would have been equally as strong if these loose threads would have been omitted or cleared up more conclusively, or maybe that is just me again.
It has helped me decide that for my own novel I will attempt to spend the money needed for a professional edit. Again it is my opinion that I would have enjoyed it a lot more if these little oversights had been filtered out by a professional eye trained to catch them.
Despite this, I will read the sequel I am sure. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 because I had no choice. If the stars could be allocated I would have given 5 out of 5 for story line, story strength and for character development. Maybe less on the grammar, sentence structure and therefore overall readability.
Still a big thumbs up and looking forward to the next one from Allan.

A great book and relatively easy read. It took me 2 or 3 chapters to get into the story but once I was hooked I never looked back. The characters are dynamic and I found myself fully invested in the story line. Looking forward to reading Allan Krummenacker's next book.

*UPDATE: THE NEXT BOOKS IN MY PARA-EARTH SERIES WILL BE...*
After giving it a lot of thought and listening to feedback from readers both here and on my blogs I've come to a final decision on what order the next few books will be coming in...
Late November 2014 "THE VAMPYRE BLOGS" will be released first. This will be the first of at least 2 books. The story line I've been creating has grown to such an extent that it cannot be told in just one novel So I will do what I've been doing with the other books. A complete story will be told with a few dangling plot lines that will be addressed and wrapped up in the 2nd book which will come in time for Christmas 2015.
In May 2015 "THE DOOR" will be released and will take up where both "THE BRIDGE" and "THE SHIP" left off. It will reunite Alex, Veronica, Cassie and Julie. I won't give any spoilers away except to say that not only with the looming confrontation with the mysterious white-haired man will take place, but also the secret behind the ghostly Brandon will be fully revealed.
NOTE: Even though the story will wrap up a number of plot lines, this will NOT be the last you see of these characters. They will be back in future stories as well as making appearances in other novels So if you've grown attached to them, know you'll be seeing more of them down the road.
So that's where things stand and what you can expect in the next 18 months folks. I want to thank everyone who gave me feedback. I plan to try and release 2 novels a year, provided my school schedule for the next 3 years will permit.
