I was born and raised on Long Island New York. Always a dreamer I fell in love with Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror shows and movies. Some of my favorite all time TV shows that I still watch on DVD are the original Dark Shadows, the original Twilight Zone series, Doctor Who, The Outer Limits (original) etc.

I came to California in the mid 1980's with my Mom and one of my brothers. Once here, I fell in with a great crowd of Doctor Who fans who introduced me to other science fiction clubs and conventions. It was while attending the Sacramento Doctor Who Fan Club that I met my wife Helen. Together, we got into costuming and attending workshops where I learned a great deal from authors, actors, and those folks in the special effects departments. All

Sorry for being quiet for so long, a lot's been happening over here. First I was needed to help some very dear family members deal a terrible loss. Then both Helen and I had to deal with a vicious bout of Bronchitis which turned into Pneumonia in my case. We've just gotten over that and have been told it will take some time for our lungs to get back to normal, only now we're dealing with seriou... Read more of this blog post »

“Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.”
Terry Pratchett, Jingo

“All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need... fantasies to make life bearable."

REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE.

"Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—"

YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.

"So we can believe the big ones?"

YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.

"They're not the same at all!"

YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.

"Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"

MY POINT EXACTLY.”
Terry Pratchett, Hogfather

“There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass! Who's been pinching my beer?
And at the other end of the bar the world is full of the other type of person, who has a broken glass, or a glass that has been carelessly knocked over (usually by one of the people calling for a larger glass) or who had no glass at all, because he was at the back of the crowd and had failed to catch the barman's eye. ”
Terry Pratchett, The Truth

Gigi Sedlmayer Hi Allan,

I hope all is well with you.
I was just looking through my reviews of my first book TALON, COME FLY WITH ME and came across your review you had written in 2017 i think. Long time ago.
Now i was looking at the second book, TALON, ON THE WING i couldn't find any review of you.
would you like to go on with reading the second book?
If you want, i can provide a free copy.

Hope to hear from you
