Preparing Her for a Menage a Quatre #SatSpanks

Confused, she wrinkled her brow.

Her stomach tightened. “I still don’t understand why they must bed me,” she complained. Gaston was treating her as if she were a possession to be shared without a hint of concern for how his actions would affect her, and it hurt.
Running out of patience, he sighed. “My dear, if I offer you as a gift they will view you more as my property than as my shrew, thereby proving their concerns are unfounded.”
Rolling her eyes she repeated his words with a sneer. “Your property?”
“Yes, my property,” he said in a no-nonsense tone.
“But…” she tried to find words. The idea of three men, strangers to her, taking her body as they wished frightened her. And how did you come to join a pirate crew, Frederica?”
She softened. “I’m not a member of the crew. I am their prisoner, taken on my way to the colonies.”
“Taken? So that’s how you wound up with this scurrilous crew.”
“I was aboard the passenger ship, the Adelaide, when Captain Humphrey and his men attacked us.” The corners of her mouth fell.
“What happened?”
“They stole everything of value, then killed everyone.” She shrugged at the senseless loss of life and dropped her eyes to the floor.
“How did you escape?”
“Captain Humphrey took me as his prisoner. I think Bradford gave him the idea. He saved my life, Bradford that is. I was struck in the head and collapsed in his arms. I don’t think he had it in him to kill me. So he convinced Humphrey I’d be useful. I don’t remember anything after I got hit in the head.”
“And since?” he asked.
“I’m a slave to Humphrey. I do his bidding. He keeps me locked in his chambers. Says it’s for my protection…” her voice trailed off.
Gaston took a sip of rum. “So now you’re Humphrey’s whore?”
“I most certainly am not!” she exclaimed indignantly.
“Let me see if I understand this correctly… You sleep in the captain’s bunk, you care for him, he offers you protection from the rest of the crew, what else would you call it?” He rocked his head back, amused.
“I do not lie with him.”
“You don’t?” He winked at her. “Be honest. A comely wench like yourself… The man would have to have a defect not to be bedding you.”
“I cannot speak to that, but I can assure you that I sleep on a pallet on the floor, and the captain sleeps in his bed. I am nothing more than a slave and companion to him.” For some reason Galette made her defensive, and what she told him was true… for the most part.
“If you say so.” Gaston leaned forward, brows knitted together. “What about when you first came aboard… did he get close to you? Rub up against you?”
“Monsieur Galette!” She pretended to be slightly more outraged than she really felt, though she wasn’t sure why it was important to her what this pirate thought of her.
“Did he?” he persisted.
Taking a deep breath, Frederica considered. Rolling her eyes, she answered, “Yes.”
“What happened?”
“I’m not sure how that is any business of yours,” she answered petulantly.
“Frederica, I am but a lonely man, injured in battle, barely having escaped harm’s way with my life. When that happens to a man, he finds great joy in the simplest of life’s pleasures. Having a lively conversation with a beautiful woman, for example.” One corner of his mouth lifted, rendering him impossibly charming. “Merely attempting to be friendly, my dear.”
She ignored the endearment this time. “He only rubbed against me. That is all. Then he became frustrated with me. Angry too, I suppose.”
Gaston stroked his beard. “Interesting. Then what happened?”
“Nothing. When he calmed down, he left, and I prayed he wouldn’t hurt me anymore.”
“And has he?”
“Not regularly. When he’s quite drunk or angry he occasionally likes to punish me.”
Gaston nodded thoughtfully.
Feeling as though she should provide further explanation, she added, “Sometimes I read to him. And do some mending. It gets rather boring. I wish I could join the men on deck and do something useful.”
“So he’s not bedding you—”
“No! How many times must I say it?” She rolled her eyes again.
“May I hazard a guess that you are not yet in touch with your true carnal nature?” He eyed her seductively.
“I’ve never lain with a man before, if that is your inquiry, though I don’t know what business it is of yours,” she said haughtily.
“That’s a shame,” he said, his eyes roaming over her body.
His inspection brought Frederica a fresh awareness of the shabby condition of her attire. What was once a sweet, cheerful frock had faded to a covering with all the appeal of a dull, limp dishrag, and her skin showed through the threadbare patches at her elbows and across her middle. The manner in which he looked at her made her wish the dress appeared as it had new.
Yet he stared at her as if she wasn’t even wearing a dress. He seemed to know what she would look like without her petticoats, which both disgusted and thrilled her at the same time. Her pulse racing and her face warm, she fanned herself with her hand and asked, “Is it hot as the devil in here, or is it just me?”
He chuckled and shook his head. “It’s not just you,” he said with a knowing expression.

Married at First Sight – Would You Do It?
Dating on Reality TV
As someone who watches a lot of reality television, I am fascinated by dating shows. I watch them all – Millionaire Matchmaker, every program in the Bachelor franchise, and the ones that don’t make it for a long run. I even like the hoax shows like the Joe Schmo Show and Joe Millionaire and the more bizarre Dating in the Dark. With book deadlines looming ahead of me I plan to skip MTV’s new show Dating Naked though I can imagine it will be quite interesting. I think I’m too old-fashioned (or maybe just too old) to watch people dating sans garments. Where’s the mystery, the build-up for romance when everyone is in their birthday suit from the get go?
Married at First Sight
But those shows pale in comparison to the social experiment facing participants in the new show Married at First Sight. The show asks cast members to do exactly what the name implies. Four experts use scientific measures to choose the perfect match for contestants – a psychologist, a sociologist, a sexologist (if that’s really a thing), and a spiritual advisor (who is from Harvard which offsets the questionability of the sexologist). Using their expertise, extensive psychological testing, and other questionnaires, they match three couples with their “perfect match”. Now this I gotta see!
What Makes a Match?
The psychologist in me is obsessed with what makes couples match up anyway. I mean, watch the first episode of any season of the Bachelor or the Bachelorette, and you will find that good looks and a promising career don’t necessarily give a person a leg up for finding love. Actually, research shows us that when it comes to coupling, water seeks it’s own level when it comes to matching people by most sought-after traits. For example a person considered to be an eight usually winds up with a partner who is also an eight. This works the same way for intelligence and mental stability. (You know that guy who is always attracting the “crazy girl”? Yeah, there’s a reason for that.)
Why Can’t People Find Love on Their Own?
One of the premises of Married at First Sight, and the reason they have the couples marry, is because in our world today it’s too easy to bail when a relationship gets too difficult. A little hardship and most people cut and run. They’re on to the next person. Patty Stanger of the Millionaire Matchmaker calls it BBD when a person is always looking over the head of the date they’re with, looking for the “bigger, better, deal.” It is hard to focus on the one in front of you when human nature tells us the grass is greener with that guy with the washboard abs. Surely he’s a better catch than the guy standing right next to you, right?
The romance author in me is dying to watch the potential romance unfold between the couples on this show! My current husband and I fell in love after years of friendship. I was surprised to find that true, passionate love with all the chemistry and butterflies can actually spring from a strong friendship. Prior to that I was a believer that you either had chemistry with someone or you don’t. But these days I believe love and the sparks that go along with it can ignite where and when you least expect it.
Will It Work?
So do I think the experiment on Married at First Sight is going to work? My guess is that at least one of the couples will decide to stay married. I’d like to think it would be all three. But even one success story is better than the Bachelor‘s track record for it’s contestants finding true love. Rumor has it the Biggest Loser has created more couples, and I know Survivor has created some love matches. But I will keep watching the Bachelor and the Bachelorette, rooting for them to find love. After all, the reason we’re so obsessed with how to find love is because there is a magic to it that can’t be quantified, a mysteriousness about it that can’t be predicted or understood by science or television producers. But just in case they ever do figure it out, I want a prime spot viewing it from my couch.

Sexy Sunday Snog from Rescued by the Buccaneer
Welcome to the Sunday Snog. The second book in the Pirates of the Jolie Rouge Trilogy, Bound by the Buccaneer, is scheduled to be released on July 25 so I thought I’d share with you a snippet from the first book, Rescued by the Buccaneer (they’re best read in order). “When Humphrey had you tied up on that ship, I desperately wanted to ravage you right then and there.”
“You did?”
He nodded. “I liked seeing you all tied up and helpless.”
“Really?”
He stood up and whispered in her ear, “I want to tie you up and do despicable things to you.”
He smelled of sweat and the sea breeze, and her breath caught in her throat. “Like what?”
He chuckled softly in her ear. “Would you like to find out?”
“Yes,” she said, trembling with anticipation.
“Yes, what?” he prodded.
“Yes, Master.” Uttering the words turned her on.
“Are you too sore from yesterday?” he asked. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“A little, but I’m alright.”
“Can you trust me, Frederica? You will have to…”
She wrapped her arms around his neck. “How could I not? You saved my life, and now you’re keeping me alive here on this island.” She touched her lips to his. He invaded her mouth, his tongue darting in and out, a rehearsal of what she knew would come. “I trust you with my life.”
He tugged at her clothing and nibbled her ear, his beard tickling her lightly. He yanked off the gold chain she wore around her waist, and her skirt fell to the ground. Pulling her petticoats down, he watched as she lifted her shimmy over her head.
“So beautiful,” he said, gazing at her naked body. Cupping her breast in his hand, he knelt before her to suckle it. Fondling the other one, he glided his fingers over her nipples and they hardened under his touch. She tasted salt as his mouth ruthlessly captured hers, taking possession of what was his.

#SatSpanks with Gaston the Buccaneer
Welcome to Saturday Spankings (#SatSpanks). The second book in the Pirates of the Jolie Rouge Trilogy, Bound by the Buccaneer, is scheduled to be released on July 25 so I thought I’d share with you a snippet from the first book, Rescued by the Buccaneer (they’re best read in order). In this scene pirate Gaston believes that Frederica has betrayed him to the evil Captain Humphrey, and he’s going to punish her for it.
The Spanking
It’s time for your punishment, no more stalling. A good spanking is precisely what you need, my girl.”
She shrieked in protest, but that did not stop his hand from landing on her bottom with a loud slap.
The blow jarred her, and she reached for his leg nearest to her. She grabbed it with the intention of biting him, but thought better of it. Instead, she clutched his muscular calf through his pants leg and closed her eyes.
He smacked her bottom again. Pain seeped across her skin and she tried not to cry out. It wouldn’t do to give the man the satisfaction of hearing the agony in her voice.
He swatted her aching rear over and over again, and her ass felt as if hot coals lay upon it. She longed to push his hands away, for the blows to cease, but she stubbornly refused to scream.
Then he stroked her buttocks, easing the discomfort. “Now, my little captive, can you behave?”
Rescued by the BuccaneerWhen Frederica Beauchamp boards a ship for the Americas, she dreams of a life filled with adventure, but she gets more than she bargained for when her passenger ship is attacked by pirates. The heartless men kidnap her and force her to serve their captain—a fate that might be worse than death, since though he does not have his way with her, the captain delights in baring her, shaming her, and thrashing her bare bottom as punishment for every imagined disobedience.
After the pirates bring aboard an injured man found floating in the sea, Frederica tends to his wounds and learns that he is Gaston Galette, a survivor of a shipwrecked vessel. Gaston seeks her help to overthrow the vile captain, but when their plan goes awry he is forced to use all of his wiles to save them. As the naïve girl and the seasoned sailor navigate one perilous situation after another, he informs Frederica that the only way they can survive is if he is in command, and that if she thinks things can be otherwise, she will be taken over his knee for a bare bottom spanking.
As he watches the proud, willful Frederica bow to his authority, however, Gaston worries that her growing hold on his heart will be his downfall. He knows he cannot take a woman with him when he returns to his ship and crew, but when Frederica accepts his lustful dominance completely, submitting to him with grace and beauty no other woman could match, Gaston realizes that he may never be able to let her go.
