NEW RELEASE! Secret Obsession by Olivia Linden

Title: Secret ObsessionAuthor: Olivia LindenGenre: Erotic Romance/New Adult Release Date: August 21, 2015

Blurb
Finn was the type of man that dreams were made of. A charming country boy. Handsome, hard working and loved his mama. Underneath? A freak in the sheets.

Raven knew he was everything she wanted. But he was her secret.

Raven was supposed to be off limits. Forbidden.

That didn’t stop Finn from wanting her, so he took her. After one taste he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop. Everytime she screamed his name an indelible blemish was etched onto his soul. Claiming him just as he had claimed her.

What they were doing was reckless which only added fuel to the flames. With each encounter they edged closer to the fire. Closer to disaster. There was no way for things to end well, but there was no way he could stop.

Lines get crossed, blurred and scratched down his back as they both give into their Secret Obsession.

Excerpt
Raven stood amongst the spectators as Finn strolled towards the bull. She might as well have been standing alone. Her entire world had been narrowed down to focus on him. The sexy sway of his gait, the way his t-shirt hugged the muscles in his back, and his nice tight ass. And she loved that he wasn't cocky. Finn had an easy confidence about him that she found very disarming. His warm brown eyes seemed to look right into her, and made her wonder how much of her soul he could see.

Hopefully not enough to know how bad she wanted him. He turned back to wink at her and she felt the flush rise up her neck and cheeks.

In one quick leap, Finn threw one long leg and then the other over the bull. He straightened his back, placed one hand on the hook, and raised the other in signal of his readiness. The music started and after a backwards count from three to one, he was set in motion. After his first five seconds, Raven knew he wouldn’t be falling off anytime soon.

He was magnetic. Looking cool, confident, and in total control as he kept his balance while the bull jerked and swayed. The way he eased his hips forward and arched his back to move with the momentum of the ride was beyond sexy. And the crowd ate it up. Some women cheered, others watched with the same dreamy expression. Finn was a living, breathing fantasy.

The guys placed bets. Most bet that he would last more than a minute. Others thought he would fall at the next unexpected shift. They were clearly haters. No doubt, Finn held the attention of every woman in the room.

He rode that bull for one minute and forty-five seconds. Then he let go on his own accord and threw himself onto the mat, hopping to his feet in the same motion. Raven stood in awe, with her lips slightly parted when he approached her.

"Your turn."

"I–"

Finn shook his head and took her by the arm to guide her to the bull.

"No backing out Miss 'I know how to work my hips'. You're up!"

Raven didn't have time to protest. Before she knew it, Finn had her lifted onto the bull and adjusted for the ride. Once she was seated and the popular country song began to play, her nerves settled and her natural performer's nature kicked in.

"You good?" Finn asked. Raven waved him off, shaking off the trepidation with a wink of her own.

"I got this!"

She raised one arm to signal and then she began to move.

Standing with his arms crossed and a big smile on his face, Finn watched on with a mixture of pride and enthusiasm. He hadn't seen her, but he'd felt Raven's eyes on him when he’d rode. Now he was able to watch her, and boy was it a treat.

After a shaky start, where it looked as if she would be thrown in her first three seconds, she righted herself, and rolled with the jerky motions of the bull, syncing to the beat of the music. He couldn't stop staring at her, not even when Buck tapped him to comment on how hot she looked up there.

In his mind she was riding for him alone, like he was the only man in the room. Without thinking, Finn stalked forward, too drawn to her to stop, and jumped on the bull behind Raven. She laughed wildly and let out a loud hee-haw. He slid an arm around her waist and pulled her close.

"Hold on, baby," he whispered in her ear.

Raven's laughter died down to an uncontrollable smile at the erotic sensation of Finn being so close to her. Finn's chest pressed against her back. His fingers clutched her hips to guide her to his tempo. And his obvious arousal pressed against the crease of her ass. If she weren’t having so much fun, she would have fainted from overheating.

While they rode he whispered and crooned words of encouragement in her ear. “That’s nice, baby,” and “I love the way you ride,” made her tingle down to her toes. It was all in fun, but she couldn't stop thinking about how good his body felt against hers and how she could tell he felt the same way. But she knew that they had just crossed some sort of invisible line, a broken yet unspoken rule, and committed an infraction in the whole stepfamily hierarchy.

She knew she was supposed to care.

But she didn’t.

Olivia is a newbie to the industry, but she hasn't stopped writing since she found her literary voice all those years ago. May 18th, 2015

I'm at my computer with my office windows open, the sun is shining and there is a lovely breeze swirling through the house. The nice weather makes me happy, especially when I know it's just the beginning after months of cold and gloom, so I thought I'd give you all an update on what's to come for the rest of this year. With so many great ideas bouncing around in my head, it's been hard to sit down and focus on one, so I've been working on three!

This summer I'll be releasing Homewrecker Incorporated, a sexy contemporary romance about a woman who runs a rather unconventional business and has even more unconventional ideas about love and relationships. Keep an eye out for the cover reveal within the next month or so. I worked with the incredible Jeremiah Schumacher of Schumacher Studios on this one and I absolutely love the result!

I'll be following it up this fall with Paranormal Politics this fall, a paranormal romance (as I'm sure you guessed from the title), set in Washington, D.C. about a young photojournalist who witnesses the impossible and finds herself thrust into a world and a love she never believed possible.

My third and final project for 2015 is something super secret that I hope to release in December ;). I will tell you it's a lot darker than anything I've done so far, but it's a story I just can't get out of my head. Watch out for a title and more information later this year.

Guest Post - 3 New Year's Resolutions Achieved By Reading More Romance

You probably don't need another reason to increase your library of romance novels, but just in case you did, you should know that romance novels can actually be used to achieve some of the most common New Year's resolutions.

Skeptical? Take a look at some of these common goals and see if you can't find an excuse to add one more title to your collection.

Resolution 1: Read More
Sure, you can pick up any old book to achieve your goal of reading more this year. However, romance is the literary category that's going to leave you scrambling to find another, which will help you achieve your goal faster than any other genre. The reason is simple—instant gratification. The reward for reading is right in the content. Endorphins, or, "happy chemicals," can be released when reading any type of fiction. According to an article from Myne Whitman, though, you can experience them in greater numbers when reading about sex.

What better way to motivate yourself to read than getting consistently rewarded for doing so with a hot sex scene?

The best part is that there's no such thing as a bad romance book. Sure the plots are unrealistic at times, and the dialogue a little silly, but you've heard the expression before that sex is like pizza, right? Even when it's mediocre, it's still great. Well, think of romance novels in the same way. One mediocre book is never going to turn you off of the genre. Even if you read one that wasn't your particular cup of tea, the seductive sex scenes throughout will always pique your interest and leave you wanting more.

Resolution 2: Worry Less/Relax More
Nothing grabs our focus more than sex. We're unconsciously drawn to it. And when something takes hold of your attention as much as two electric characters finally intertwined in the heat of passion, it's hard to think about anything else.

An article from the Wall Street Journal says that reading can improve a person's "ability to concentrate, reduces stress levels and deepens their ability to think, listen and empathize." Throw in an engaging love story, humorous characters and intriguing plot, and your everyday worries will be the furthest thing from your mind. Whether it's on the page, or in your bed, sex is the perfect escape from the real world.

Resolution 3: Be a Better Spouse
Romance novels are full of ideas on how to strengthen the bond between you are your partner. Flipping through the pages, you're almost guaranteed to find exciting ideas for new dates and gain perspective seeing conflicts from two different vantage points. It's an idea reiterated in the aforementioned Wall Street Journal article, which claimed that "reading literary fiction helps people understand others' mental states and beliefs, a crucial skill in building relationships."

Of course just as beneficial as they can be for the emotional side of your relationship, they can help ten-fold to the physical side. According to Adam & Eve, romance novels can serve as an aid for letting go of your inhibitions while awakening your deepest desires. Your partner will appreciate your increased enthusiasm along with any new moves or positions you picked up. Plus, reading the novels out loud to one another can be be a sexy way to get in the mood for wherever the night takes you.

You may have made a resolution to cut out sugary treats this year, but that doesn't mean you still can't indulge in a sweet tale of romance. Arm yourself with a few good romance books and you'll be well on your way to a better you in 2015. Picture Picture

Fate Series #3

Picture Good morning all! I apologize for being so lax in updating my website and blog over the past few months. I've been writing the final book in the Fate Series, and three other unrelated books whose characters wouldn't leave me alone, which has made for a rather slow process. Oh, in case you haven't noticed the new cover over there, the third and final book in the Fate Series (should have called it the Fate Trilogy) is titled Absolution of Fate. I originally hoped to release it mid-June, but it's looking like it will be closer to the end of June/early July. I have been overwhelmed by the great response to the first two books in recent weeks and want to say thank you to all of my readers for the messages of encouragement. You're all amazing!
