One Year

Today marks the one year anniversary of the last time I arrived back in England, I’ve been here ever since and that is probably a new record for me. I’ve not even left the two counties (West Midland / Staffordshire) I can call home more than twice.

Eleven years ago today I contested my first election, and gained 30 votes!

Since then I’ve stood a few more times, and picked up an additional 3,900 votes.

Never did win a seat though.

So it would seem I have a shiny new blog, which does seem to pose the question of why? and what will I be doing with it?

Why you ask?

The main reason is because I can. I needed to set up a MySQL service for something else and decided I might as-well get my money’s worth by using it for WordPress at the same time, also having my own WordPress site would help me with testing things in a controlled environment when solving problems with client’s sites.

Eight Seconds a Minute Faster

I got into an impromptu race earlier with another runner who just happened to be heading the same direction as me.

I lost the race because he was a good eight seconds a minute faster than me.

There is no moral to this story, I just want to see who I can annoy by using seconds per minute as a measurement.

Today I picked up my RSGB Beyond Exams Club Scheme Bronze Certificate from the Online Amateur Radio Community.

The three activities I’ve completed are HG4,HG2, and GI2.

The next step is the Silver Certificate that will require two more activities.
