Apple Cider Caramel!
I’m the cook in our family. I don’t LIKE cooking but thanks to my Dad I’m not bad at it. One thing I HATE is baking or making any kind of desserts, which works out because Lisa LOVES making desserts.
Last week she got the inspiration to make some salted caramel and after doing some research she decided to make apple cider caramel instead. The apple flavor wasn’t as strong as she would’ve liked but it was there and the overall texture of the caramel turned out perfect.

Yardmaster Express Preview!
Yardmaster Express is designed by David Short and published by Crash Games. It’s a small box game a step bigger than a micro with over fifty cards that plays fast and is a bunch of fun.
Through drafting, each player draws a card, adds it to their train and then passes their hand to the next player. The goal is to string consecutive train values while doing your best to block your opponents from doing the same thing.
Yardmaster: Express is available for pre-order via your local game store and will soon be appearing on Amazon.
Note: The box-sleeve in the top photo is a Kickstarter exclusive.

Coin Age Preview!
Coin Age, designed by Adam McIver and published by Tasty Minstrel Games is a micro game that fits in your wallet!
The game comes with multiple maps that are credit card sized and a bunch of punchboard tokens, though you could easily sub in some pocket change if you desired.
Coin Age is all about area control. At the end of the game you score points for having the top coin in a stack and earn double points for controlling an entire region.
The gameplay is fast and easy to pick up. On your turn, you pick up a single domination of each of your coins, give your hand a shake and then slam your fist on the table. Depending on if the coins land silver-up or gold-up you can take certain actions.
Coin Age only takes minutes to play and although luck plays a big part, there is some real depth and strategy to what you can do on your turn and how to maximize your points.
You can pick up a copy of Coin Age from the Tasty Minstrel’s website. It will cost you a whopping $5! Seriously, that’s less than the cost of a fancy coffee, so if you like quick games and area control don’t hesitate in picking it up!

Moonpie!
One of the coolest gifts I got for Christmas was a box of Moonpies. Let me explain…
At BoardGameGeek.Con, the convention I attend in November, Marty & Tony of Rolling Dice and Taking Names gave me a Moonpie. I was excited cause I wanted to bring it home and photograph it, but it got SMASHED in my luggage and was not photographable. So I was super happy when Lisa gave me a fresh box last week. Hopefully the photo above does it justice, but I’d guess we would have to ask Tony or Marty to know for sure.

Grapefruit!
You know why this grapefruit is so amazing? Because I picked it myself! It’s so weird to be living in a place where you can pick your own grapefruits and oranges.
