The 2016 Gaming Calendar Kickstarter Ends Tomorrow!

photo-original

Act fast, cause the Kickstarter is about to end!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/th3rdworld/2016-gaming-calendar

Like last year, I will be selling the base calendar all fall but this is your ONLY chance to get a custom calendar where you get to pick what photos that go in it. In addition, those who get a custom calendar also get to add their own custom holidays. So don’t miss your chance to get it.

Get “Eye of Hastur” Now!

eyeofhasturrendar

The Eye of Hastur is now available. This is the first in a new choosable adventure series.

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Eye-Hastur-Make-Your-Fate/dp/151430886X/

Doing a non-linear interactive book was an interesting challenge, but I’m happy with how it turned out and hopefully you all will feel the same.

The Eye of Hastur has 115 sections which is more than the classic Choose Your Own Adventure books plus my sections are way longer cause there is more of a focus on the story than wackiness. Though (this is a secret) the next Make Your Fate book I’m working on is going to be 3-4 times longer!

Docking Bay 94 Interview!

lipsyn-page-art

Ja & Jason of Docking Bay 94 invited me onto their show. We talk about games, Kickstarter, writing, and photography.  It was a blast being a guest on someone else’s podcast and totally worth a listening too cause they ask a bunch of good stuff, specifically about outlining books and how I run my photography shoots.

Holiday Wars Turns Five!

holiday wars art

Note: This is a cover mock-up for Volume 1 that we never used.

Five years ago today, Holiday Wars launched online with the first 16 pages (32 episodes) of Volume 1. Since then we’ve never missed an update, released Volume 1 as a graphic novel, completed Volume 2, and are making our way through Volume 3 (everything but colors are done). This fall I’ll hunker down and write Volume 4 and next winter we are hoping to Kickstart the graphic novels for Volumes 2 & 3.

It’s taken a lot of work to keep Holiday Wars going and I don’t deserve all the credit. Michael Odom, the artists behind the books, has tenacious work ethics. I have no idea how he manages to complete so many pages in such quick spurts. He’s is an absolute beast and has been amazing to work with. In addition Gi Pica has colored his heart out. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve asked him to make corrections and his response is usually something along the lines of “Sure, no problem!”

Most of all, I want to thank the readers that have stuck with us. It’s not easy following an ongoing storyline in a comic posted online and yet we have regular readers who have been commenting on each episode for well over four and a half years. Its for you guys that we do this. Sure we love making the story, but knowing you all care about the characters and events as much as we do means everything. Thanks for sticking with us!

Pie Factory Preview

IMG_5542

Pie Factory, designed by Bryan Fischer and Published by Dice Hate Me Games (Greater than Games), is a fun pie building game that’s so pretty it’s good enough to eat!

IMG_5652

In Pie Factory, players are pulling pie-parts off an assembly line to create pies. After the end of two days, the player who has scored the highest rated pies wins. It’s a simple sounding game that plays fast but can become pretty cut throat for such a light game. I know cause I once saw my mom, aunt, sister, and niece nearly destroy each other while playing the prototype at Unpub 4. They all LOVED it.

Pie Factory is a lot of game squished into a little box. It’s only $10 and you can pick it up from the Greater Than Games store.
