Harbor with Caution teaser excerpt
Since I released Handle with Care on December 18, 2012, I decided that the anniversary of that day would be the perfect day to release the sequel. Barring any emergencies or Amazon glitches, you should be able to purchase Harbor with Caution this Wednesday. I'm so excited to share the continuation of Dean and Gabe's story that I wanted to give you a tiny sneak peek:
“How did you two meet? You never used to spend time in the same circles as accountants,” Landon directed his question to Gabe. I...

Here it is, the cover for Harbor with Caution, the sequel to Handle with Care. I'm almost as excited about the cover as I am about the story! Eight months later, the two are still together and going strong, but can their relationship survive the return of Gabe's ex? You'll be able to read for yourself soon, when Harbor with Cautionis released on Amazon. Stay tuned for an excer...

May/December Romance
I don't often jump into the fray when there is a huge outcry over some celebrity's life choices, but the backlash against Tom Daily last week when he announced that he is in love with a man and rumors began circulating that the man in question may be 20 years his senior really bothered me. Enough so that I felt it necessary to write this blog post, even though Michelangelo Signorile pretty much said everything I wanted to say in his excellent HuffPost column.
My take on this is that age is jus...

Guilty Pleasure
Are you done with your holiday shopping? Me neither. truth be told, I need to take stock of all I have and see what else I need, but I'm very sure I didn't quite manage to but presents for all the people I need them for. I did, however, have time for a little self-indulgence last night. No, not that! Minds out of the gutter! Last night was the last day of the Dreamspinner Press 30% off sale, and I just couldn't resist. Despite the fact that I have literally hundreds of unread books on my kind...

A day to give thanks
Happy Thanksgiving!I hope those of you who are celebrating today have a wonderful day feasting on delicious food and following your favorite traditions. And amidst the celebrations, I hope we all remember the reason for the holiday and take time to think about the people and things in our lives that make us grateful.
I'm first and foremost grateful for my family, and especially my husband, who all put up with my quirks and are always so supportive. I'm also grateful for my friends, and especi...

Squee! On Top Down Under reviews Lakeside Reunion
I was super excited yesterday to learn that On Top Down Under Book Reviews posted a review of Lakeside Reunion. I was even more excited when I went to read the review and found it deliciously illustrated!
I want to send a big thank you to Kazza for the review and the inspiration to perhaps pay the three boys who star in this gay menage another visit to see what they've been up to since their lake house rendezvous.
Click here to read the review, though please note the illustrations are very much...

Yay for Equal Marriage in Illinois!
Yesterday the Illinois House of Representatives voted in favor of equal marriage in Illinois. The measure has already been approved by the Illinois Senate and is supported by our governor, so we are now an equal marriage rights state! I think that's awesome! Overdue, but awesome! I can't wait for the day we can say the same about all fifty states.

Today is release day!
Each year November 1 marks the start of National Novel Writing Month - NaNoWriMo. Last year on this day, I started writing my YA novel. I wrote the first 50K words that month, and then added another 36 by the end of February. I really thought, with some effort, I could get the book published by the end of June. Needless to say, that was a lot of wishful thinking and a gross underestimate of the amount of time I would need for proofreading and editing. In the end, though, I'm almost glad the p...

New Novel Release Announcement!
I'm very excited to announce a firm release date for my new YA novel! This is my first foray into YA literature and it's been a labor of love. I had first hoped to release the book in June, but I woefully underestimated the amount of time I'd need to edit and proofread. thankfully, I had a lot of help along the way, as you'll see in the acknowledgement section of the book.I updated the page on this blog dedicated to my YA writing with the latest information and synopsis of the story. You...
