May/December Romance

I don't often jump into the fray when there is a huge outcry over some celebrity's life choices, but the backlash against Tom Daily last week when he announced that he is in love with a man and rumors began circulating that the man in question may be 20 years his senior really bothered me. Yay for Equal Marriage in Illinois!

Yesterday the Illinois House of Representatives voted in favor of equal marriage in Illinois. The measure has already been approved by the Illinois Senate and is supported by our governor, so we are now an equal marriage rights state! I think that's awesome! Overdue, but awesome! I can't wait for the day we can say the same about all fifty states.

Today is release day!

Each year November 1 marks the start of National Novel Writing Month - NaNoWriMo. Last year on this day, I started writing my YA novel. I wrote the first 50K words that month, and then added another 36 by the end of February. I really thought, with some effort, I could get the book published by the end of June. Needless to say, that was a lot of wishful thinking and a gross underestimate of the amount of time I would need for proofreading and editing. In the end, though, I'm almost glad the p...

New Novel Release Announcement!

I'm very excited to announce a firm release date for my new YA novel! This is my first foray into YA literature and it's been a labor of love. I had first hoped to release the book in June, but I woefully underestimated the amount of time I'd need to edit and proofread. thankfully, I had a lot of help along the way, as you'll see in the acknowledgement section of the book.
