The ethical dilemma of Artificial Intelligence

Robots and Humans at crossroads Will robots replace humans and to what extent? This is a question that everyone is pondering on. There is a sense of excitement but at the same time a sense of despair also. What will happen to employment? What will happen to social structures, when most of the things are done by robots? Also, who will have the control on this world? At the moment, there

I am a Truck

Trucks are not born. We don't have parents. There is no father and mother who taught me how to run on roads. In fact I cannot run on roads without someone with biological parents handling me. Though I cannot do things on my own, but I do carry a lot of power. More powerful than any of the living being with biological parents. A truck is a complicated piece of machinery. There is a variety of

The data driven world

We all talk about data now a days. Big data, large data, humongous amount of data. Data is encompassing all of us in myriad ways. Also it's not just about data being created but data being shared among multiple parties who see an interest in it. Couple of weeks back I met someone in a marriage and we exchanged numbers. Next day he started showing up in my recommendation list in Facebook. I

History depends on who writes it

History is considered as a collection of facts of what had happened in the past. But more often than not , History becomes the perception of the presenter. This is not just true about History but even about present. People or institutions presenting the facts colour things based on their own underlying motives and understanding. The terrorist for a country or religion or sect is a martyr/

Gamification vs Game Theory

Gamification is quite different from Game theory. Game theory is about strategic decision making especially in the context of choices available to the competitors. Prisoner's dilemma is a classic game theory situation. A classic game theory equilibrium happens when all the players maximize their gains or minimize their losses. The max(min) is done considering how the competition is going to act

Book review : JBoss AS 5 Development

This book is a good reference if you are working with JBoss. The book can be accessed here. The book is written in simple style and easy to read. It touches the things to an average depth and can be a good companion, if anyone are using JBoss as their deployment environment. It has lots of tips and trick between those black lines. The book is practical in nature and written in a tutorial style.

The book at times tends to get too deep into other technicalities related to JavaEE standard technology which tends to remove the focus, if you are already comfortable with JavaEE stuff and looking for Jboss specific stuff. Another thing missing is a more detail treatment of the new microcontainer architecture.

Overall a good companion for JBoss based environments.
