Tirade on a Monday

Okay, so today is definitely a good day for a tirade. Yesterday was absolutely terrible, stressful, and now today I’m getting more of it from stupid WordPress!!! I am a writer. I need to do giveaways for my books and others’ books when I participate in blog tours. I can’t do that because WordPress doesn’t support Rafflecopter, which is the most-used program for giveaways. Soooooo, I’m forced to move away from WordPress, whom I’ve loved since the beginning because of the wonderfully close networking of the blogs, to Blogger, whose networking isn’t near as nice the last time I was there. Hopefully though, now that I’m going back and I know they’ve done some remodeling to their programming, it will be better.
I’m still in the process of converting this blog and all posts over to Blogger, but you can still go over there and follow me here. I’ll be posting over there from now on so if you want to get in on the giveaway you need to go to the new site.
I want to apologize to all the new people who followed and liked this blog. I didn’t figure all this frustrating stuff until just yesterday, so again I do apologize, but my new site will have a lot more to it than this one ever could. I had already been planning about switching over, this just caused it to happen faster than I’d planed, haha. My new site is still going to be called “Giles Fine Arts” so don’t worry about remembering another name. I hope I didn’t inconvenience anyone by doing this, and I hope you all switch over to continue following me and supporting me in this rough journey of mine. And of course I hope you switch over to catch the blog tour & giveaway I’m having for Ensuing Darkness!
You all are amazing and I love you!

Catch Up & A Tirade for Tuesday

Long time no see! I’ve got some explaining to do, I know, and here I go. I know I said I was going to use “Sabrina Giles” as my author name from now on, but I went through a flip-flop phase for a long time on whether that was the right thing to do because I’d already set up everything for “Alexis Cain” and all that, blah blah blah…. You get the point. But now, I’m back and I’m saying I’m going to let my real name fly free and true. I didn’t like the feeling of my writing life being a secret under “Alexis Cain”. I want people to know me as an author when we get introduced if they’ve read my books. “Alexis Cain” and The Dark Chronicles were a test to see if I could cut it in the Author World, and now that I know I can I’m here to bust out as my true self.
Sabrina Giles.I’m back and better than every guys, and I’ve got some stories up my sleeve I think you’re gonna like. They are all currently works-in-progress, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to keep them to myself ’til they’re done. The one you’re more than likely going to see the most of is Red Rebel Diaries , a short story series about a rough & tough country girl named Georgia Skye and her crazy life in a small town in Kentucky. She’s wild, she’s crazy, she’s sarcastic, and when her world starts changing around her she’s forced to either change for the better or leave. Now, my other story, or should I say stories, all involve the new race I’ve developed. This one race and what they do is going to provide me with books and series for years and years to come. The possibilities are endless! My Luminites are gonna rock your socks off! I will be give you some sneak peaks on them and their first story between now and by the time the book is ready.

Now for the Tirade:
My car is messing up. I am so sooooo thankful it didn’t break down on my way to or my way back from visiting my husband in MS this weekend. I’m guessing it’s the clutch or something to do with the clutch because there is no resistance in the clutch pedal and the stick won’t let me go into any gears at all. It was that, and the fact that yesterday when I was so extremely exhausted I could not for the life of me find a dang Starbucks!!! I drove six hours on 4 hours of sleep on absolutely no coffee and it was killing me.

Work, Work, Work

Hey guys, this is just a quick post before I head off to work.

I just got a new job and it seems it and everything else I already had on my plate is making it harder for me to work writing into my schedule. Haha, I guess I still haven’t gotten to the point where I become one of those sleepless writers yet. :) Yeah, I still love my sleep a little too much right now (gotta look good for the new job right?), but don’t worry, I’ll get over it. ;P

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that my Blog Tour to celebrate Ensuing Darkness’ new cover is in the final stages of being set up and will start on June 24th! Yaaaaayyyy!

I still have a few spots open, so anyone who’s interested in participating can just leave a comment below or hit me up at my email: alexiscain20 [at] outlook [dot] com!

Okay gotta split! See ya later! Stay calm and write on!

New & and Improved Cover Revealed!

Ensuing Darkness (front cover) Ensuing Darkness revamped!

We were completely broke when we made E.D.’s first cover, and Roibien worked hard on it, but it still wasn’t as good as we’d hoped it would be. Mostly due to the fact that we used a free photo that didn’t start out at the right resolution, even after we changed the dpi it still turned out a little muddled. Still, we decided this was going to be my test book, to see how it would do out in the world and what all we could do with it.

And I’ve got to say, I’m lovin’ this new look! I mean look at it! Completely fits the book 100% better than the first one. I was going to wait to post this until it was up on all it’s channels, but I got tired of waiting on Barnes & Noble sooo ;) .

Anyway, I also took the liberty of sprucing up the excerpt on the back cover. When I wrote it the first time I wasn’t really sure what I was doing, and was scared of revealing too much accidentally, that I actually didn’t reveal enough. Remember, this is the test book, but now I’m pretty sure I’ve got all this down. Now all I have to work on is the marketing side of it…. this should be fun o.O (I’m having a little trouble balancing a healthy “real world” life and “writing world” life.).

Also, to celebrate this new cover, I’m setting up a blog tour! No dates as of yet because I’m still accepting blogs to the list, but I’ll let you know when this is going down soon!

The new & revamped excerpt is as follows:

The small town of Maxville, Colorado is harboring more secrets than Kota Riley ever imagined.

Hunting, partying, and hanging with the guys has made up the most of her simple life, but as she nears the end of her time in Maxville High, she finds herself in want of something more. Something new. Unfortunately for her, she gets her wish the beginning of senior year when a whole slew of new faces come Waltzing into her life. Literally.

The Peters are a family of professional ballroom dancers, deciding to descend upon Maxville and take their most talented to a series of competitions from California and then hopefully to Italy. Unbeknownst to Kota, however, is that this is just their cover. The family’s dark secrets are the real reason behind their arrival, and their mission:

Stay under enemy radar

Gather the information

Make the switch

Get out undetected

It would have been a success, but when their two youngest get mixed up in a taboo romance with Kota and her best friend Sue, things get nasty for everyone.

Driven by boredom and the disturbing effect the mysterious Peters have on her, Kota starts pushing her way into their secrets without hesitation. She soon finds herself surrounded by everything she never knew existed and the blame is all on her when she risks the safety of her friends and family to discover a truth she was never supposed to see.

Well, I hope you like E.D.’s new look! I’m planning on having the tour sometime in June, but I’ll let you know the specifics when I get the list and details sorted out. You wanna be a part of this awesome tour? Just hit me up and we can work it out! I’ll also be having a giveaway on each stop of the tour too, so stay tuned!

Write on!

~Alexis
