Recipe For Love
With Valentine’s day only a day away. I thought I would share this little recipe with all of you. I have made some modifications. But since everyone’s taste is different, you may not want to follow my suggestions! But just in case you do, here they are: Recipe For Love 1 Cup of Romance – this could sometimes be hard to find. If you are able to get some, I suggest sealing it in an air tight container so you will always have some when needed. This could easily be found by watching a good movie or reading a book (I could suggest one for you!)1 Pinch of Humor – I personally suggest more than just a pinch. You should easily be able to find this. That is of course, if you’re not a stick in the mud (which I know that one of you are!)2 Spoonfools of Joy – some days you may have a lot on hand. Other days you may be scraping the bottom of the barrel for some. But this is an item that isn’t too hard to find.1 Pound Compatibility – I think you could cut this down to a half pound if needed. Opposites attract!3 Tablespoons of Trust – If you don’t have any of this available, abandon, recipe!1 Cup of Respect – another must have! I would suggest even upping to 2 cups.½ Pound of Sharing – well I have the mindset, what’s mine is mine and what’s his is mine and my recipe always comes out fine.1 Zest of Tenderness – yeah okay, I guess this makes it turn out a little better¾ cups of Patience – you can NEVER I repeat NEVER put too much of this in! It will not overpower the recipe it will just make it easier to make! Again this is another item that you may be lacking some days (especially when raising teenagers!)
Well I hope you guys have all the ingredients to make your LOVE recipe! And remember if all else fails….read my book!

In Search Of The Perfect....Title
Well another weekend is over and another week about to begin. I will say this weekend was semi-productive for me. I am happy to report that my new book is almost to the half-way point, editing wise. Which means I will be sharing it with everyone real soon! I know that I may have mentioned this before, but I will say it again.....I LOVE this book and I'm hoping that readers will love it just as much! Now, if only I could think of a title. I've been racking my brain for the past two days to come up with something that doesn't sound like a cheesy drug store romance book or an adult movie and I'm coming up blank! I want to be original and classy.....easier said than done! I'm beginning to think that writing the darn book was easier than picking out the title! I'm sure my indecisiveness isn't helping matters either. I tried not to over think it too much, thinking maybe something would come to me when I least expected it, like yesterday, when I was cleaning the bathroom. Sadly, the only titles that came to mind as I was cleaning around the toilet bowl were:
Learning To Aim
Sit Don't Stand
Rules Of The Potty
and my personal favorite:
What a Bunch of Freakin' Slobs
* note: I am the only female in my house among 3 males
Unfortunately, none of these fit my story line. So, I will continue with my quest to find a title that my book will be proud to display. After all, this is like my 2nd born child in the book world. I wouldn't want it thinking:

Some Good Advice.....
Another VERY OLD poem that I'm going to share with you guys. I wrote this a long time ago for my boys when they were younger. But I think this is good advice for anyone!
Reach for the stars each and every day, don't stress about tomorrow.
Dare to do all that you dream, never feeling any sorrow.
Enjoy each moment, as if it were your last,
look brightly at the future, don't dwell upon your past.
Life is a chance that you have been given,
a beautiful gift sent down from heaven.
Always be loyal, caring and true and the love you give to others will be given back to you.
The time that we are given, goes by so fast,
so seize each moment and make it last.

My Best Attempt At Dr. Seuss
Here's a little poem that I wrote years ago when my boys were little and my dad would babysit! He would always fall asleep and they would get in tons of mischief.....hope you enjoy!
TWAS THE DAY POP- POP BABYSAT
It was a damp and dark dreary day, much too cold for outside play.
So Stephan and Aidan took out their toys, they were two very messy boys.
They had trucks and trains all over the floor; they even decided to fingerprint their door.
They heard their pop-pop call up the stairs, “are you guys making a mess up there?”
“Nope not me!” they both replied, both getting a little nervous, knowing that they lied.
They decided it was time to have a little snack, so Aidan said to Stephan, “I’ll be right back.”
So down to the kitchen Aidan did sneak and into the living room he took a peek.
Pop-pop had fallen asleep in the chair as the sound of the TV filled the air.
Aidan arrived back in the room, with more junk food than they both could consume.
There were chips and popcorn spilled all over the place and chocolate cupcakes smeared on their face.
The party continued all through the day until they heard their mom’s car pulling in, to their dismay.
They looked at each other with confusion and shock. Was it already five o’clock?
When Mom walked in, she sensed trouble in the air,
as pop-pop sit there snoring in the chair.
The cat pranced by with peanut butter stuck to his tail and it didn’t take mom long to follow the trail.
Mom opened the door afraid of what she would see and there were her two boys both saying “It wasn’t me!”
In her hand, were tickets to the “sold out” baseball game and when the boys looked outside the weather wasn’t the same.
The sun was shining not a cloud in the sky, everything outside was beginning to dry.
“Let’s leave now!” Aidan began to stress.Mom replied, “not until you clean up this mess.”
“But we’ll miss the game!” Stephan pouted.“Then you’ll only have yourselves to blame,” Mom shouted
So three hours later the clean up was done. They had missed the ballgame and all of the fun.
Later that night as Mom tucked them into bed. “I am very upset” Stephan said.
“Me too!” Aidan cried.“Then next time be a little neater,” Mom replied
Mom gave them a hug and a kiss good night; then walked out the room and turned off the light.
Tossing and turning as they lay in bed, thoughts of the day went through their head. They thought of when pop-pop would watch them once more; and the fun filled day that would be in store!
My inspirations for this poem.....would love to have them that small again - minus the mischief!

If only life was fiction.....
Lets face it, most of us read to escape our humdrum life and become the character within the pages of the book that we're engrossed in. Now, we all know that in real life, Christian Grey or Vampires that turn to diamonds in the sun don't really exist....right?
I not only like to read about these characters, but I also like to create them when I'm writing But it never seems to fail, whenever I'm in the middle of writing a really steamy love scene, I'll hear "Mom....mom". Why is it, that my kids don't even know I exist until I'm deep within the pages of writing out an act of passion? So, I turn a couple shades of red, quickly close my laptop, and try to look innocent. I know they are teenagers and probably know a lot more about these things than I think (it better be from hearsay or health class and not experience!). But in every child's mind, they are the Immaculate Conception, their Mom doesn't do those things and certainly shouldn't be writing about them....right? Talk about a major buzz kill!
But the ultimate creativity killer is when you're trying to write a description of your leading man. You know - tall, dark, handsome, sexy, killer body (feel free to insert whatever adjective you like here). The whole time, your wishing he could jump out of your computer screen as you're typing the the words that are creating him! All the while your husband is sitting on the couch next to you, shoving potato chips in his mouth. Picking the crumbs from said potato chips out of his teeth and making no attempt to conceal his need to expel gas, from both ends (yes, sad to say that is not fiction). Isn't that so romantic? I know one thing..... it's enough to give me writer's block for quite a few days!
So when I came across this picture I couldn't help but think how apropos:

Luckily, we will always have these books and the character in them, to escape from the cold, stark reality of.... real life!
Happy Friday and don't forget today is:

7 Line Challenge!
Okay so I was tagged into this 7 line challenge by another writer, Dawn Husted. The challenge is for me to pick seven lines from page 7 or 77 of one of my novels and post it.
Here is a sneak peek of the first 7 lines of page 77 of my new book that I have just completed and hope to have out in the spring! Hope you enjoy!
“Yes, you can’t look all smokin’ hot and wear those granny panties that you wear underneath that dress,” she said.I watched as the salesman immediately shook his head. “Oh no, you definitely have to wear the sexy undies, no granny panties.”“I don’t wear granny panties,” I said in defense as Donna rolled her eyes at me.“Fine!” I handed the salesman my credit card. This surely was an expensive lesson that I was going to be teaching Dailan O’Maley, my only hope was that it didn’t backfire on me!
