Stephen Lursen is an artist and instructor working primarily in acrylics and enjoys creating intuitive abstract work.

He graduated in 2012 with his M.F.A. in painting and soon there after worked for three years at Donna Downey Studios as the Director of Education. Over that time he developed 13 online workshops which are sold through his website stephenlursen.com. His Facebook group is active in sharing the work produced from many of his workshops.

Hiya folks – DeeDee here today with a bright tag duo full of mixed media stuffs. Lots of texture and background prep before we add color. I took a risk and stepped out of my normal color range.. definitely loving stretching myself as an artist. It’s important to learn new things and continually grow. I cannot boast enough about the genuine greatness both artistically and personally of each of our 6 Artist Gang talents this year. Each artist brought such a unique blend of style and process to our Tuesday each week and really gave 100% to developing and recording lessons that taught us something new!

I am a 33 year old Mixed Media Artist and Art Journaler. I live in Pennsylvania with my boyfriend and our two rescue cats. I have a YouTube channel that I upload to twice a week and I currently am on Donna Downey’s Artist Gang as well as Viva Las VegaStamps Design Team. When I am not working (as a home health care aide) or studying (I’m also a full-time student working towards my bachelor’s degree) I can be found in my studio covered in paint.
