It's Tea Time!

I finally found a city, maybe even a whole country that enjoys tea as much as I do. Tearooms are everywhere. Afternoon tea was breakfast and lunch today. As for calories? Let's not go there. I am sure the cake alone was more than my daily allotment. But then again, it was so huge I couldn't finish it.

Tea is a contentious subject in Britain. Not whether it is Earl Grey or Darjeeling in the pot or whether it is correct to pour the milk into the cup before or after the tea, but what exactly the ...

Sundays in Scotland

I'm starting something new at GerriRussell.net. Each Sunday I am going to take you to Scotland. I'll use some of the blogs I posted while I visited there last summer, and I'll add new things. You never know what's going to show up, so you'll have to check back frequently. Or if you have things you want to know about, let me know!

I'm going to start our little journey this week in Glasgow.

New Cover!

One of the most exciting things in an author's writing life is seeing their new cover for the first time. The email arrives. The picture is attached. You open the attachment. Wait for the image to reveal itself from the top to the bottom. Your heart's in your throat.  Your fists are tightly clenched. Finally, you breathe.

It's perfect.

Jousting Through the Ages

Jousting started in Europe in the Middle Ages around the 10th century with the emergence of knights as a fighting force. The joust offered knights a means to practice his horsemanship skills and his prowess with a lance and sword against other knights.

The first recorded reference of a tournament was dated in 1066 and refers to Godfrey de Preuilly, who is described as having invented the medieval tournament. In the same year the Normans conquered the English at the Battle of Hastings. The...

To Tempt a Knight Book Trailer

I'm very excited to share the fabulous To Tempt a Knight trailer a very talented April Rickard put together for me using footage from the To Tempt a Knight launch party. The knights you see are the Seattle Knights. I really love what she did. I hope you will, too!

Want More Love With Your Lost Symbol?

"Want more love with your Lost Symbol? Order To Tempt a Knight by Gerri Russell a Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars romance." That's what my publisher, Dorchester Publishing, posted on Twitter today. At first I laughed, then I smiled.

Dan Brown's newest book with character Robert Langdon came out yesterday. From the preview I read in the Sunday paper, The Lost Symbol looks to be another exciting adventure. But Dorchester is right. If you want a little more relationship and love with your...
