Russian Meteorite and Black Sun Series
I had just finished [image error]releasing The Zone, the second episode of my series Black Sun, when the Russian meteorite was all over the TV and internet. The Zone is about a small town that is quarantined after a meteorite impact is linked to an unknown virus. The story is part of a continuing narrative that attributes our changing climate to solar influences, which is in turn linked to cycles of catastrophes involving meteorites, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
In the first episodes of the Black Sun series, the earth is being affected by streams of unusual meteor showers preceding two large comets which are heading into the inner solar system, one of which is called SION. These events will trigger a chain of follow-on effects that will result in the formation of a New World Order.
Fiction aside, following the Russian meteorite, there were several more around the world , for example in Cuba, where a meteor was described as being as bright as the sun. Other reports came from Italy, UK and America.
In real life there is a large comet heading this way. It is called ISON, from which I derived the name of my fictional version, SION.
The interesting thing about writing a series is that I can incorporate events happening in the world right now into the narrative, and then extrapolate them forward into my imagined very near future, as society begins to crumble. Sometimes I wonder how fictional my scenario is, though.
The Zone – Episode Two of the Black Sun Series Released
The Black Sun series is an ongoing narrative released in novella length, bi-monthly episodes. It describes the emergence of a new world order following the cataclysmic events unfolding now. Climate change, earthquakes and volcanism are linked to the electromagnetic forces affecting the sun and our solar system.
In The Zone, the town of Bryce, Arizona has been placed in quarantine following the outbreak of a virus linked to the impact of a meteorite. As society breaks down, four people are drawn to a mesa in the desert, where a strange light appears and morphs into symbols representing religion and the zodiac. These symbols are indications of a coded, ancient science concerning cycles that have affected Earth in the past, destroying civilizations and giving rise to new ones. It may be that the last hope for the people of the town lies with what will happen at the mesa, however a fundamentalist religious sect interprets the phenomenon as the work of Satan.
Mixing an alternative view of humanity’s lost, ancient past with the emerging science of a universe founded on electromagnetism as the dominant force, the series blends a realistic interpretation of current events and their eventual outcome, with the origins of religious beliefs and the possible reality of advanced extraterrestrials influencing life on this planet.
Episode three will be released late February 2013.
Black Sun Age of Aquarius
For many people astrology is about the horoscope we read in newspapers and magazines. The advice to avoid risky financial decisions (surely any time to avoid those is the right time) and to be careful not to hurt the feelings of others (again, safe advice) is standard stuff, and at this level few people take astrology seriously. However, the basis for, and origins of, astrology may be far more mysterious than is generally recognised.
In essence the premise for astrology is that the positions of the stars and planets directly affect life on earth, including the lives of individuals. Science today, at least the mainstream version, rejects that idea on the basis that there is no mechanism for such an effect, unless you count things like gamma ray bursts from distant stars, which could affect this planet. Science says that the dominant force in space is gravity, and it is gravity that holds everything together. The Electric Universe theory contradicts this view. According to the EU theory the dominant force in the universe is electromagnetism, which is many times more powerful than the weak force of gravity. In fact gravity may be a result of electromagnetism.
If the EU theory is correct, then everything in space is connected by electric currents flowing through the plasma that makes up most of the universe. When electricity flows through any medium, a magnetic field is created. There’s now a mechanism for the idea that the stars and planets can directly affect life on earth, even at remote distances. The earth has a magnetic field. So do people and all living things, because the processes of life are essentially electrical, and all of those fields interact in ways that aren’t well understood. Are there ever occasions when your dreams are particularly vivid, perhaps even bizarre? Have a look at what is happening to the sun at those times. The sun is a giant ball of electromagnetism. When strong solar flares occur, which are explosions of magnetic energy, charged particles penetrate Earth’s atmosphere. Anecdotal evidence links those periods to heightened dream activity, which is perfectly reasonable because the brain is an electrical device. If the sun can directly affect our dreams, what other effects might it have?[image error]
Right now we are in changing times. The scientific paradigms concerning the way the universe works are changing. An example of this is that NASA and others in the science community are now starting to admit that the electromagnetic activity of the sun may have more of an effect on our climate than previously thought. This is a precursor to throwing out the ridiculous idea that human activity is causing profound climate change. Human activity may not be all good, but it doesn’t drive climate. The sun does. The sun however, is behaving in unexpected ways, as is our planet. We are seeing wild climate extremes, large earthquakes and dangerous volcanic activity. We know that other planets in the solar system are also experiencing the same kinds of phenomenon, and it’s doubtful that our industrial emissions are the culprit.
So, where does the Age of Aquarius fit into this? All of the ancient cultures, such as the Hindus, Greeks, and Egyptians, believed in cycles of ages during which humanity experienced different conditions on Earth. These ages were separated by periods of destruction, during which the old was destroyed to give way to the new. The zodiac is a version of those ideas concerning ages or cycles. We are currently transiting from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. But what does that mean? What is the zodiac exactly? It’s a circular arrangement of constellations that are meant to represent things like the water bearer, Aquarius, and Pisces the fishes. Actually if you look at them, the constellations don’t resemble much at all. Those representations make it easier to identify the specific constellations though, and so in turn to understand that the zodiac is actually a kind of giant cosmic clock. I’m only going to give a very brief idea of how it works because it’s quite complicated. For a better explanation, try here: http://syzygyastro.hubpages.com/hub/A...
The short version is this: On the equinox each year, the sun rises against a background of stars, which make up one of the constellations. Currently, that sunrise position is moving from Pisces to Aquarius. That movement is very slight. It takes over two thousand years to transit through one entire sign, and since there are a total of twelve signs, the entire cycle takes around twenty six thousand years. This movement is to do with the way the Earth rotates on its axis, and it’s known as the precession of the equinoxes. Precession was known about by the Sumerians, the Babylonians and the Egyptians, all of whom kept very detailed astronomical charts. Their cultures were obsessed with the stories that overlaid this astronomical knowledge, which is where their religious practices originated. But why? How did they come by the knowledge of precession in the first place, which required long periods of observation and understanding of what was being observed? And why did they care about a cycle that took so long? One sign, or age, lasted over two thousand years!
[image error]It’s possible that what was actually being tracked was the changing galactic environment that affects the sun, because over time the entire solar system is subjected to differing levels of electromagnetic forces. Those forces affect human civilization because they are responsible for changes in climate and geological processes, such as earthquakes and volcanic activity. They are probably also linked to the appearance of comets and asteroids, which are disrupted from their positions in the asteroid belt or elsewhere and are drawn into the inner solar system. Perhaps at times of intense activity those same forces also directly affect the DNA of living organisms, causing genetic mutations that spur on the evolutionary process.
The fictional Black Sun series that I write, is about the changes happening now on Earth, and how they may evolve in the near future. Civilization may be at the turning point alluded to in many ancient texts and traditions. These are often thought of as prophesising the end of the world, like the biblical Book of Revelations, which of course has a religious context. Maybe what they are really referring to is a repeating cycle of change. From the ruins of the old, emerges the new global society, completely reorganised for the modern age. Against that background, the premise of my series is that there are factions within the power structures of today’s society who are aware of what is coming and are planning to manipulate the outcome to suit their own vision of the future. However, the coming changes concern more than this planet and human civilization, this is an evolutionary event on a far larger scale.

Appeal of Apocalyptic Stories
Fiction begins with the question; what if?
What if a character committed a crime? Or discovered one? What if somebody had an affair, or [image error]if the world was inhabited by flesh eating zombies or vampires? The last two are very popular right now.
Most versions of the zombie genre envisage the end of our civilisation as a starting point. There have been books and movies based on the same premise. Deep Impact was a Hollywood take on the end of the world brought about an asteroid impact. It seems that we love such stories, because they’re not new. Noah’s flood was the end of the world, almost. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a Sumerian tale that mentions a similar catastrophe, and is much older than the bible. Many of today’s religions feature an End Time when the world will end, including Christianity, where it’s vividly described in Revelations.
In the Black Sun series I describe not the end of the world, but how the world might change if cataclysmic events threatened to destroy our society. What if a large comet was going to fly through the solar system and interact with the sun and planets, including Earth, in ways that might not be pleasant for our modern society? What if there were certain people who knew ahead of time that this was going to happen? Not just a few months or even years, but for a very long time, because the knowledge has been passed down in religious stories and myths from ancient times, though in allegorical form. Only in the modern era did those myths begin to be properly understood, and they revealed a science based on electromagnetism that conventional, modern science has largely passed by. What if the people who rediscovered this ancient knowledge, also uncovered the lost truth of human evolution, previous civilizations that were destroyed, life beyond this planet, and even clues about the nature and purpose of life itself?
[image error]Put all these questions together and they form the premise of the series. What if those people looked around at the fragmented, warring, world we live in, and they saw an opportunity to save civilisation, but remould it according to their own vision? They thought they might have fifty or sixty years to achieve their ends and make their plans, to secretly develop the electromagnetic technology they would need. And as time went by they saw confirmation of what would happen as the climate began to change and earthquakes and volcanic eruptions increased.
Finally, several large comets are discovered on orbits that will bring them close to earth. Astronomers hypothesize that calculations show that these comets haven’t been see in the inner solar system for more than eleven thousand years, which places them around the end of last ice age, a period of mass extinctions. The effects of these comets on the electrical solar system environment are already apparent, though they are unrecognised by mainstream science.[image error]
The time has come to prepare for a new world. But the people who are manipulating events, hidden within the military and covert structures of major world powers, have forgotten one thing. No force is ever unopposed, and every person or society that has ever believed that they understand the workings of the universe has eventually been proven either wrong, or that in fact they understand only a tiny part of it.
Reality can be stranger than fiction, as the saying goes. 2012 was thought by many to be the end of the world, but the Mayans never said that. They talked of the birth of a new sun, or a new age of the sun. Many cultures have spoken about a transition of ages. In astrological terms we are moving from the sign of Pisces to the sign, or age, of Aquarius. The sun is behaving strangely. The electromagnetic sunspots that should be at their peak in the cycle we know about, are weak and low in number. Our atmosphere is responding by producing freak climate conditions. The planet is cooling, or warming, depending on who you listen to. Either way, it’s changing fast, and it has nothing to do with our cars.
And then there’s comet ISON, approaching fast, though Pan STARRS will get here first. Maybe there are more to come. Earthquakes and volcanic activity are increasing, as are reported sightings of UFO’s.
Ancient myths attributed terrible weapons of thunderbolts to the gods. Great flashes of lightning? Electrical discharge between bodies in space?
So what new civilisation will arise from the ashes of the old?

For a limited time, The Snow Falcon and The Flyer ebooks have been reduced in price to $2.99 (US) for TSF and $4.99 (US) TF.
The following reviews appeared for these books during the past few days:
5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Flyer (Kindle Edition)
I loved this book. I was lent a copy of The Snow Falcon, which I thoroughly enjoyed and then looked for other titles by the same author. I am really pleased to have found this one on Amazon. Stuart Harrison writes with a nice easy style, very descriptive and he creates such good characters. I was blown away by his ability to set stories in such vastly different settings and make them so real, as though he is writing about his own experiences. His stories are not predictable, which keeps you guessing and on edge right to the end. I think I have found a new favourite author and will be watching and waiting for any new titles! This guy is going to be a superstar!

What a fantastic book!! This is a very creative and beautiful story. I was captured by the story on the first page. The way it has been written and description of the characters and details within the story made it feel like i was watching a movie. There were so many different paths the story could have taken, the suspense of knowing what was going to happen next made me read from cover to cover without putting it down. an amazing reading experience!

Signs In The Sky
[image error]And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men: Book of Revelations. King James Bible
The first episode of the Black Sun series, Arizona Lights, will be online and available to download from online retailers in a few days. Episode two, The Zone, will follow within a week or two and episode three, Mesa, by the end of February. Each episode is novella length, or around 120 to 150 pages. The first episode will cost 99c, and two and three will each be 1.99.
The series is about changes that are taking place right now, in terms of extreme climate events, earthquakes, volcanism, weird booming, and other sounds being reported around the world, as well as increased sightings of UFO type lights anomalies. Something is happening to our Earth, and my fictional series presents a scenario that may well play out in the very near future. The coming events are linked to our ancient past, when civilisations like the early Egyptians and Sumerians flourished, and possibly also others that are recalled now only in myths, like Atlantis. They are linked to the ancient tales of planetary gods who bestowed both peace and destruction, and also to stories of wise Lords who appeared from the sky, and to the beginnings of religions.
Right now, the internet is buzzing with talk about the comets that are currently flying through our solar system. Some commentators are calling 2013 the year of the comet. In the past, both in historical times and in ancient pre-history, comets were regarded as bad omens. They were associated with destruction, famine, plague and death. Science regards this as the natural result of ignorant minds, because people were superstitious and had no understanding of what comets were. I very much doubt that is true. I think it’s far more likely that comets were regarded fearfully, because people had good reason to fear them. Currently accepted scientific theories hold that comets are no threat to the planets unless a direct impact should occur. There are, however, many respected scientists who believe the current model of the solar system is wrong. According to a theory known as the electric universe, or plasma universe, space is not an empty vacuum, but is filled with plasma that conducts electric currents. Stars and planets are nodes in a giant circuit, and the tail of comets is not material melted and vaporised by the heat of the sun, but is a visible electrical discharge.
According to the electric universe theory, if two bodies, say Earth and a large comet, for example, possess a different electrical potential, we could expect to see discharges between them. Lightning flashes, in other words, that act like an electrical arc torch, gouging out great scars on the surface of the planet. Large comets may also carry chunks of debris in their tails, which could be attracted to a large body like Earth and the other planets. The result might be showers of fireballs exploding like bombs. Some of them could be huge. Something else that might be carried in a comet’s tail, is poisonous gas, or even deadly microbes. There’s a comet visible right now from the southern hemisphere. It’s called Lemmon, and it’s green. The colour is a result of a gas called cyanogen, which is poisonous. Later this year, comet Pan-STARRS will be visible, and later still comet ISON, which may be a very large comet.
I’ll talk more about comets, with some examples from history and the stories associated with them, soon. Examples such as the plague that decimated Europe and killed perhaps a third of the population during the Middle-Ages.
It has all happened before, and it’s recorded in various texts. Comets have orbits, which means they come back on a regular, sometimes very long cycle. The sun has cycles too, though they’re currently poorly understood. We are at the sunspot maximum right now, when the magnetic activity and eruptions that send ionised particles into our atmosphere should be going full swing. It’s not happening. The sun has been very quiet. This affects our atmosphere in ways scientists don’t yet understand. It also affects geological processes; earthquakes and volcanism. Earth’s magnetic field has been weakening for the past forty years. It’s now alarmingly weak. Our magnetic field is the planet’s protective field, that shields us from all kinds of galactic radiation. How do ice ages happen? We might be about to find out.
The best fiction, in my view, is fiction that makes you think, that makes you question whether we really know as much as we think we do. The world and society is going to change. In fact it has already begun. But how will it change? What will happen?
Read the Black Sun for one, very scary, but very possible scenario.

Mysteries
My Little Oxford Dictionary defines the word mystery as; a revealed religious truth, especially one beyond human intelligence.
All religions have something in common. They are founded on the concept of existence beyond the physical life we know. Without that essential premise, I doubt that any religion would have much appeal. The central Christian mystery concerns Jesus rising from the dead. Christianity, however, developed from the mystery religions, as did all of today’s religions. The Eleusinian Mysteries was one of the most famous of the ancient world. Unlike today’s religions, which require faith from their followers, the mystery religions offered initiates a revelation. That is to say, when they had reached a certain point, the mystery or truth was revealed. That doesn’t happen anymore, though the ritual of drinking wine from the cup in the Eucharist, is a hint that it wasn’t always so.
It is the fascination with the unexplained that inspired me to begin writing the Black Sun series. I’ve always been interested in anything that suggests there is more to life than we know, but it wasn’t until I began to research the many and varied subjects that could be categorised as mysteries in this context, that I started to wonder if there was a common thread running through them all. Broadly speaking I lumped the unexplained under a few general headings. Here they are:
1) Physical ancient mysteries, such as The Great Pyramid, the temple of Jupiter at Baalbek, the megalithic ruins in South America etc.
2) Paranormal phenomenon of all kinds, and you might include UFO’s here.
3) Cultural mysteries such as religious ideas and texts, myths etc.
4) Natural or science mysteries. In other words, phenomenon that scientists accept is real, for which we don’t yet have an explanation, or for which the explanation accepted by the mainstream scientific community is clearly wrong. For example, it’s a mystery to me how many, many scientists fail to recognise that the main driver of Earth’s climate, is the sun! Duh!
The Black Sun series is an attempt to write a story that links all of these subjects, most of which scientists dismiss out of hand. I chose to do that because, the more research I did on any one topic, the clearer it became that it was impossible to look at any single thing in isolation, because they are all connected. Here’s an example:
If you take a look at the mysteries surrounding the Great Pyramid, of which there are many, you can’t help but wander into the labyrinth of mysteries surrounding ancient Egyptian culture as a whole. In doing so you will be inexorably drawn to look at their religious myths, which are astronomically based, like those of the Babylonians, Sumerians and everyone else. You’ll find yourself investigating the mystery religions themselves, and at various points you’ll be forced to look at our present day understanding of the various sciences. For example, among the myths of cultures across the world is a universal story of a global deluge, like the biblical flood, which scientists still dismiss, even though they have come to grudgingly accept there may have been large scale, localised events at the end of the last glacial period, around twelve thousand years ago. However, localised events fail to explain how the remains of an immense number of ice-age animals suddenly ended up buried around the Arctic Circle, or how all the large mammals suddenly became extinct.
Scientists also dismiss the myths that indicate the solar system was once arranged differently than it is today, because such a thing is impossible according to their theories of how the solar system was formed, based on Newtonian Mechanics. Yet scientists are observing phenomenon every day in space that are not predicted by the currently accepted theories. In other words, the theories are probably wrong.
In case you haven’t noticed, I have a healthy scepticism when it comes to dogma of any kind, and that includes scientific dogma. Dogma is defined as the official belief system of a religion or organisation etc. We expect it to be associated with religion, but not science, and yet there is dogmatic belief in the science community. Observations are made, and from them theories are proposed, and a key test of any theory is that it must be able to predict other, related, observations. If new observations contradict those predictions, a new theory has to be formed. That is not always what happens. Often, what happens instead is that something is literally invented to explain the new observation. Having invented the answer, a mathematical formula is devised to justify it.
This is theoretical science. It is changing the rules to comply with the current dogma. If you disagree with the current dogma, all of your research funding will vanish and you will find yourself unable to publish your work in peer reviewed publications. It’s similar to the methods of the religious fanaticism of the middle ages. Dark Matter is an example of this. It is the mysterious stuff astrophysicists have invented to explain observations in the universe that don’t match their predictions. They can’t see it or prove it exists, but they insist it is there and it accounts for most of the mass of our galaxy. It must, or their theories are wrong. They refuse to consider that the second option may be the right one.
The Black Sun series tells a long story in which unconventional theories explain what’s happening in our changing world right now, and what may happen going forward into the very near future. The story also explains how these unfolding events are linked to the unexplained phenomenon of the past and of the present. I could only do this in a series, because the subject matter is vast, and good stories are not excuses to download massive amounts of information. Show not tell, is the adage I plan to stick to. I will use this blog to talk about the topics raised in the series. As I said, the mysteries are all linked, they all part of one story.
Next time, a bit about the Eleusinian Mysteries, which are as good a place as any to start.
In the meantime, if you want an introduction into what’s happening with our climate, here’s a link to Utube video. It’s short and the guy is smart, definitely not flaky, though some of the people who comment are. Check it out. If the link doesn’t work, search Energy From Space by Suspicious Observers

First Review for The Flyer
The First Review for The Flyer has been posted on Amazon! It’s five stars and it’s not from my mum, or anyone else I know! Needless to say I’m delighted. I spent a great deal of time researching the background to this novel, not to mention the many drafts I wrote before it was completed, so I’m very happy that at least one person appears to have really enjoyed it. I just hope there are many more.

I could not put this book down because it was so intriguing. All the characters were interesting. If you are thinking of reading this book you will not regret it. Beautiful. My favorite author. Thank you. BRAVO!
I looked to see what kind of fiction this reviewer likes, and it appears that she (she is a female reader) enjoys love stories among other things. That’s actually particularly gratifying, because although The Flyer is definitely a love story, it also a story about the central character’s struggle to overcome the barriers of class in pre-First World War English society. Since about half of the book takes place during the First World War, against the background of the conflict in the air, I was slightly worried that some female readers might be put off by this. Some female readers that I know personally, have assured me it wasn’t a problem and said they enjoyed those elements of the story as much as any other part. It’s nice to know that in this case, anyway, that appears to be true. I always wanted the book to appeal to both men and women. After all, it appeals to me!
