Stella McCartney London Fashion Show Spectacular

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, fashionista suprema at the Greenygrey, loved up with Stella McCartney’s new fashion range. Also still in love with Kate Moss, who looked ab fab in London with her nice man Jamie Hince.

Cover of Gremlins

First of all, apologies to you if you tried to read the Greenygrey yesterday morning and the website was down. We hoped that it was because lots of fashionistas had logged in to check out the new greenygrey fashion developments from the London Fashion Show, but it was just one of those Gremlins.

Stella McCartney Greenygrey Fashion Show Spectacular

Secondly, apologies to Stella McCartney. You know, I love Stella really (but her mother Linda’s veggie sausages more!) and our rivalry is just a greenygrey media creation.

I think Paco Wolfsang must have got carried away with it, because my apprentice fashionista totally missed Stella McCartney’s greenygrey spectacular at London Fashion Week in his LFW report.

Thankfully, more experienced fashionistas at the Metro newspaper spotted the greenygreying spectacular, and through the wonders of modern technology, I have now imported them into the Greenygrey world for your delecation:

The Board of Greenygrey Fashion Quality Control has controversially passed Stella McCartney’s outfit as greenygrey:

There was nothing controversial about Stella McCartney’s synchonised greenygreying display:

London Fashion Week Highlights

Hi, it’s Paco Wolfsang, apprentice fashionista at the Greenygrey, and somewhat similar to Paco Rabanne in the human world. Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno wanted to keep some interstellar space between herself and her great fashion rival and parallel Stella McCartney this week, so she sent me to the London Fashion Show.

I’m so glad now, because I had a great time at the show, which sadly ended today. Unfortunately, there was little greenygrey in the Stella McCartney collection, or Autumn/Winter 2013 collections, but there was lots in the Spring/Summer 2014 collection; suggesting fashion designers think of the greenygrey as suiting bright sunny weather, which is the image we like at the Greenygrey. Here’s some greenygrey highlights:

London Fashion Week Highlights

Talking of greenygrey highlights, this model for Ostwald Helgason seems to have great green highlights and a nice green scarf, greenygreying nicely with the surrounding decor.

The best collection of greenygrey though was most certainly provided by Peter Pilotto’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

David ‘Weirwolf’ Weir and ‘Maywerewolf’ Mayweather

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, comedy satire sports correspondent at the Greenygrey. We discovered a new werewolf hero in a very greenygrey Great North Run yesterday… and could inspire another?

David ‘Weirwolf’ Weir

However, we’re a little late, as David ‘Weirwolf’ Weir had already won six Paralympic Games golds before winning the Great North Run men’s wheelchair race, as well as several world championships and marathons.

Here he is in great greenygrey action:

Floyd Mayweather Jr retained his light-middleweight title against Saul Alvarez over in Las Vegas; and position as the unofficial best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Here we see Mayweather greenygreying with Mygrandma.

His long and distinguished career suggests Mayweather may be a werewolf, and I think that could be a great new nickname for him: ‘Maywerewolf’ Mayweather.

Bingie East Coast Oz Werewolf Comedy Wordplay

With time fast running out,

I’m sure there’s little doubt,

in regular readers’ minds,

that it’s Werewolf of Oz times…

Bingie 3 Start Northerly

Hi, it’s Greenygrey. Yes, it sure is time for the second Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps episode, what with the sun setting over Blighty, lunchtime on the west Pacific coast… and well, already early Monday morning in Oz.

Map of the Tasman Sea.

This episode is the first of three inspired by the town of Bingie, which starts the travel quest quartet on the northerly east coast home straight to the comedy satire marathon maudle’s denouement with Bri’s bane.

The episode contains lots of Bingie inspired wordplay, and some of it may even by funny. Here it is:

Chapter 105.  Bungee Jumpers of Bingie Splash and Brash

I awoke on the beach. The sun shining through white cloud looked like a fried egg. I thought it’d go well with all our potatoes. Then,

there seemed to be a commotion in the Tasman Sea,

I wondered what it could be.

Brainwaves by the Waves

I slept again, before being awoken by a regular splashing in our locality. I thought somebody might have left a tap on, but then remembered we were on a beach and I had seen no taps nearby.

Pacific Coast Rambler

I was dozing back to sleep when a disturbing thought suddenly entered my noggin: all the early morning activity could be the MoMo East returning from the deep after its epic battle with MiMo Moby; or Smiggin escaped from its hole. I bolted upright, on the crest of a brainwave.

I was relieved to see it was not MoMo, oh no; or Smiggin, thank holiculturing; but some bungee jumpers that seemed to be arriving from a great distance.

Bingie Bungees Buzzing

Adopting a posh phone voice I once heard spoken in an old film, I said, ‘Hey, hold on old chaps, don’t you think it is jolly early for that kind of caper?’

Fried Egg Records

I realised the one who answered must be a local when it buzzed, ‘Strewth cobber, it’s never too early for some bonzer fun like this.’

I just had time to ask where they were bungeeing from before they started the reverse journey. I thought I heard one buzz they were bungeeing from Bingie before they bounced out of sight.

Ellie Goulding Burn Remix and Backing Band Name Ideas

Hi, it’s Howlin’ Wolf, music correspondent at the Greenygrey. We’ve had some great colourful backing groups, such as Cee-Lo Green‘s Scarlet Fever and Patti Labelle‘s The Bluebelles, but there’s been no greenygreys yet.

Ellie Goulding and The Greenygrey

It looks like Ellie Goulding is backed by the Greenygrey in this photo for her Burn song. Although the Greenygrey is only one half of the backing of course, sharing the duties with the Pinkypeach. Maybe it’s more Ellie Goulding and the Pinkypeach Greenygrey?

However, there’s no pinkypeach in this At Dawn We Rage remix; while the greenygrey of the Ellie Goulding backdrop has been remixed into a sea pool.

Clarke Carlisle is Cool, Rio Ferdinand is a Herbert

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, fashionista suprema at the Greenygrey, with a mix of serious reporting and satirical fashion for you today. I’ve been chosen to write this blog because there’s some greenygrey fashion later, as well as the fact that Voyager has left our solar system to become the first human object to travel in interstellar space after thirty-six years.

Stella BevHills

Stella BevHills (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

To me, interstellar space usually means keeping my distance from two of my closest rivals in fashion, Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld. Or time between pints of Stella Artois. Anyway, enough about me, and on with the footie.

Football Needs Clark Carlisle, not Peter Herbert

Clarke Carlisle seems to take a balanced honest rational greenygrey view on his life and football in his new autobiography, You Don’t Know Me, But …: A Footballer’s Life; in which he has provoked controversy for criticising more extreme anti-racism campaigning footballers like Rio Ferdinand. We supported Carlisle’s Kick Racism Out campaign last year.

While the Greenygrey doesn’t want any prejudice in British sport and society, it also doesn’t want selfish and greedy people stirring up trouble where it is not needed.

Last year, Rio Ferdinand led a campaign that seemed totally out of proportion to the problem. After a couple of racist footballer cases, one of them by a South American, Ferdinand seemed to take inspiration from Malcolm X‘s black power movement, while Clarke Carlisle seemed more like Martin Luther King.

Like a self-fulfilling prophecy, Ferdinand’s raising of the agenda to critical point in the media led to some crowd incidents; with Ferdinand, the media and crowds like a perfect storm feeding off each for a while.

This was in a modern football culture where Congolese Fabrice Muamba had been cheered at every ground after surviving a cardiac arrest on the pitch while playing for Bolton.

English: David James as a player of England na...

English: David James as a player of England national football team Русский: Дэвид Джеймс в составе сборной Англии по футболу (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Moreover, England goalie David James said he’d never experienced any racism in English football during his long career. James also said in an Independent article that he thought anti-racism groups were just trying to stir things up to justify their existence.

Peter Herbert’s Society of Black Lawyers

Into the perfect storm appeared Peter Herbert and the Society of Black Lawyers. While Herbert might be a good lawyer, and done good things in other cases, he apparently suffered racism in his childhood, and admitted he knew nothing about football. So he was hardly likely to take a greenygrey balanced view like Carlisle. However, the British media has still given him wide coverage.

Moreover, Herbert’s also caused trouble for Tottenham Hotspur’s Jewish fans, citing them as racist for calling themselves a ‘Y’ term I don’t want to use because I’m not Jewish, so would almost certainly be considered racist by Herbert and his cronies.

The Jewish fans use the term as a self-defence, in the same way as some black people use the ‘N’ word; and Marc Latham uses the ‘C’ word. So Herbert diving into the football world without much knowledge criticising the Spurs fans as ‘racist’ is like a Jewish lawyer diving into the music world and calling black rappers racist for using the ‘N’ word.

Anyway, enough serious stuff for now, and there’s been some great greenygrey news in the football fashion world this season…

Greenygrey Football Kits

Andrii Piatov kept a clean sheet as Ukraine drew 0-0 with England. Piatov wore a mainly grey kit with green stripes.

Asmir Begovic has helped little Bosnia and Herzegovina to the brink of World Cup qualification in a green shirt, and grey shorts and socks.

Asmir Begovic

Begovic plays for Stoke in the Premier League, and in a first for the Greenygrey, their away kit has been passed as greenygrey by the Board of Greenygrey Quality Control.

The main colour is definitely grey, described as dark shale. The second colour is described as electric. Electric can look green or yellow, so is quite controversial, but it has now been passed as green enough; with this greenygrey little and large Owen and Crouch photo clinching the case.

Crouch and Owen

There’s lots more greenygrey mixing of serious observations and humour in Doctor of Philosophy Marc Latham’s  books available on Smashwords and Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/author/marclatham), with Werewolf of Oz and 242 Mirror Poems self-published to create bargain prices.

Literary Nonsense Poetry Comedy Oz Werewolf Story

Hi, it’s Greenygrey. It’s already Thursday, and there’s been no Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps, so we have for you today, a nice fun wordplay literary nonsense comedy satire episode to prepare you for the now not long to go weekend.

Map of New South Wales/Australia, LGA of Eurob...

After the east coast was sighted last episode, this episode sees the travel quest quartet actually reach the landmark geographical location on their Google maps marathon maudle after some Euro eulogy illogical potato parody.

Chapter 104.  Potatoes and Cheese Make Travelling a Breeze

I slept well, and everybody else said they did too. There seemed a new energy in the camp, and we had a good start to our day’s ramble; reaching Eurobodalla by mid-morning, and Bodalla around midday. They were quite similar towns, but Eurobodalla reminded me more of Europe for some reason.

The Big Cheese

The Big Cheese (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

We were going to stop in Bodalla for lunch, but then read about the South Coast Cheese just outside town, so went there instead. We picked up some right cheesy bargains at the factory shop; and I don’t mean of the inauthentic kind.

We couldn’t wait to reach Potato Point after that, and had no trouble finding it. We just followed the pointing potatoes.

Reaching the East Coast at Potato Point

The Tasman Sea expanded with each step as we approached the east coast, and washed over us like a giant wet towel after we all jumped in upon arrival.

Potato, cheese and Speck

I had finally reached the east coast of Oz after arriving near the west coast over a year ago. I thought of Bonzo, and how he would no doubt have loved the refreshing relief of the neverending waves.

But he was in a happy place. Upon emerging from the sea, and drying off, we set about cooking our dinner.

After an hour or three,

we had a tea fit for King Eddie,

and Queen Eloise,

of potatoes and cheese.

King Edward is a type of potato.

Rafa Nadal Wins U.S. Open for Team GG

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, comedy satire sports correspondent at the Greenygrey, inspired by darts legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams. Great news (if a little late) from the U.S. Open tennis, where Team GG’s star member, Rafa Nadal, won the men’s title in a great final against Novak Djokovic. Moreover, it was a return to greenygrey form for Nadal, after he’d worn an alternative kit while winning the French Open.

U.S. Open Photos

The U.S. Open can look greenygrey from afar, as shown in this image (mind the gap):

But it is in fact greenyblue.

Therefore, Nadal could combine greenygrey colours in kit and racket without making himself invisible and gaining an unfair advantage. The racket green was on the verge of being yellow, to stand out on the green court:

British Media Blame Britain for Syria Chemical Attack

Hi, it’s Gnome-Chomper Wolf, creative critical analyst in the nether regions of the Greenygrey world; in the style of Noam Chomsky. While Noam Chomsky and his friend Herman tend to criticise everything Western, I tend to be more balanced, in line with Greenygrey thinking.

British Media Frame Britain for Sarin Attack

Herman - Contentment Closeup

Herman – Contentment Closeup (Photo credit: toastie97)

With Britain opting out of attacking Syria, I hoped the media would stop focusing on it so much, with it being only one of many conflicts going on in the world at the moment.

However, not only has the media continued warmongering, but it is also trying to bring the British government into the frame for the Syrian chemical attacks; as seen in the Daily Mail.

While I don’t agree with selling dangerous elements to unstable and aggressive regimes, Kev Lilburn highlighted on Facebook that the sodium fluoride and potassium fluoride in question are used in toothpaste and cosmetics, and weren’t banned from being sold to Syria at the time.

I think this kind of reckless story can inspire British citizens to turn against the British government, for false reasons, and even lead to tragic attacks like that on Drummer Lee Rigby in May.

Chapman as Brian Cohen in Life of Brian

Chapman as Brian Cohen in Life of Brian (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

This is just the kind of story loved by the George Galloway’s left-wingers who blame everything on Britain and the ‘West’ even if they have democratically voted to stay out of the conflict, and it’s the left-wingers’ beloved leaders in Syria, who are overseeing and doing all the killing.

Herman and Chomsky Propaganda Model

The ‘right-wingDaily Mail reporting this as a sensationalist story criticising the mainly ’right-wing’ Conservative-LibDems coalition government goes totally against Herman and Chomsky’s Propaganda Model of Media, as found by Marc Latham in his research on the Kosovo Conflict. Marc wrote:

“Herman and Chomsky also theorise that the media would accept ‘one’s own state’ tells the truth; but the discussion section showed the media openly commented on the ‘propaganda’ being released by NATO in a two-way propaganda battle, and warned when it was unverified.

Herman and Chomsky also: ‘expect great investigatory zeal in the search for enemy villainy…but diminished enterprise in examining such matters in connection with one’s own and friendly states;’ but the results and discussion section showed the media spent as much time investigating the NATO collateral damage incidents as the reports of Serb war crimes, and this was especially true of the NYT after the Chinese embassy bombing.”

Marc Latham’s PhD thesis was published by Lambert Publishing and is available for a lot of money on Amazon.

Australian Election Springs Oz East Coast See Sea

Hi, it’s Greenygrey. The Aussie men’s cricketers might have been sent back to Oz with their tails between their legs this summer, but at least they are returning to the Aussie spring, which is usually (usually is a big word in Greenygreyist thinking) a nice space time to be. There was also the little matter of a general election in Australia this week, marking another break between one time and another.

Werewolf of Oz East Coast Australia

Yes, regular readers will probably have guessed by now that it’s time for your second weekly episode of Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps.

Australia 2009

Australia 2009 (Photo credit: stoofstraat)

They may not have guessed that, as many Aussies are probably now welcoming in a new spring, and wondering about a new political era, this episode is also a landmark on the travel quest quartet’s satirical sojourn across Oz.

Over 100 episodes have passed, but now the east coast comes into view, for the home straight of the marathon journey.

The episode starts with more badger funny,

before travelling east through some literary

nonsense poetry,

to see the sea;

which is nearly always a nice space time to be.

Chapter 103.  East Coast View Suggests Journey’s End Looms?

Once they’d finished their banjo-bagpipes duel, Angry greeted the badger and complimented it on its playing, before introducing us all. The badger said its name was Badge, and called its parents out from their sett. Badge introduced them as Brock and Brocc.

Staying Dry in Dampier

Heubach badger

Brock said they’d been expecting us, after the badgers of the Badginarra National Park told them we were on our way. I thought that was a coincidence, after we’d just benefited from a similar west-east communication between the pigeons of Coorow and Cooma.

The Badja badgers quickly arranged a clan meal, and the fine spread filled us up after the long hike. When we told them of our difficulty during the day they offered us a badger barge they had, and said it would deliver us through the forest.

We were overjoyed at this, and Angry gave them his bagpipes in return. Bakers’ dozens of badgers emerged to see us off, badgering and barging one another to be on the best balcony.

Barging Through Dampier

Cover of Deliverance (Deluxe Edition)

We had a wonderful time barging through Dampier. It was thankfully nothing like the experience those poor people had in the film Deliverance, which I’d half suspected we might suffer after the duelling instruments reminded me of the film.

The river returned us to the dust sandy path, and a long uphill trek.

From a treetop

in a rest stop

outside Nerrigundah,

Elle had a gander,

her observation she did ponder

if it was the east coast yonder.

I was inspired by the tree scenery

to write this observation poetry;

was it the beginning of the end

the east to north Ozyssey bend.

Australia 2009

Australia 2009 (Photo credit: stoofstraat)

We all rushed up the tree for a gander, and were happy to unanimously confirm Elle’s discovery. I could see the east coast; all this time after starting off in the south-west. Nostalgia and optimism coursed through my veins, fused in my heart, and surged upwards to mind.

Dampier and Nerrigundah are real places.
