Welch Rarebit? Welsh Rabbit? How about Welsh Rarebit Recipe for Kids breakfast ideas
Want breakfast ideas for kid's recipes? Here's one with lots of protein that you've probably never heard of or you did, but you had no idea what it was. Welch (misspelling) Rabbit (confused letter transposing) = Welsh Rarebit. This was my first attempt. It tastes good, but looks sad!

Egg and cheese mixture.

Prepared toasts on baking sheet.

While baking the rarebit recipe.

My finished product a Pinterest Fail. See how it should look below.
What even is it? I once saw a recipe in Betty Crocker and blacked it out! I was a proud owner of a house rabbit. I didn't need to see how to cook a rabbit every time I opened my cookbook. Wait. What?
This old-fashioned, easy recipe requires only a few simple ingredients. We left out the traditional grated bread crumbs because I didn't have any, but you shouldn't! Ours ran all over the baking pan and off the toast.
Welsh Rarebit Recipe for Kids
1/4 C. Shredded Cheese (your choice of flavor), 2 Eggs, Butter, Salt, Pepper, Dash of Dry Mustard, bread crumbs, and Toast.
Mix Shredded Cheese with Eggs and 2 Tbs. Butter. Mix in a pinch of salt, pepper, bread crumbs, and dry mustard. Cut the crust off toast. Cut toast into fun shapes with cookie cutters. Lay out in baking dish (Line with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray). Spread the egg paste on the toast. (Texas Toast works smashingly or use Melba Toast). Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Place in oven at 350 degrees until lightly browned and cheese is melted.
It is similar to French Toast
They made this in the White House! You can find a similar recipe in The White House Cook Book, 1887. I guess Grover Cleveland liked Welsh food. Hmm... I need to research if he was Welsh. I wonder if he had a rabbit? Oooh Oooh... Should I make a Grover Cleveland President Paperbag Puppet? Hmm...
Here's a professional looking Welsh Rarebit from Mama Smiles.

Big Red Barn Coloring Sheet and Creative Country Sayings: Farm Edition
Don't you love Margaret Wise Brown Books? One of my favorites is "The Big Red Barn" about animal life on the farm. Here's a free printable coloring sheet and some cute country sayings from down on the farm.

Cow coloring page to use with Big Red Barn activity.
Click here for Printable Cow Barn Farm Coloring Sheet: "Moo to you!"
Make this easy Big Red Barn Farm Craft from an envelope and cardboard tube.

Creative Country Sayings and Farmer Quotes:

What happens in the barn stays in the barn!
Well that just dills my pickle.
What part of moo don't you understand?
Don't go digging for water under the outhouse.
She's so tall if she fell down she'd be halfway home.
How did the farmer fix his jeans? With a cabbage patch!
Knock Knock. (Who is there?)
Interrupting cow. Knock Knock.
(Who is-)
Moo!
He's as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Well butter my behind and call me a biscuit!
They are off like a herd of turtles.
It's slicker than snot out there.
Well slap my head and call me silly!

So, what is Sensory Play Based Learning? Find out more at PBS Parents. Here at Kids Creative Chaos the definition is simple: Play to learn! Find a fun activity for kids and lots of child games as you peruse our pages. Please join the linky party and link up your ideas for messy crafts, games, and even art activities for preschoolers. Saint Patrick's Day Party Games for Kids
Planning a themed Saint Patrick's Day Party? Try some leprechaun approved games for kids. These easy games can be played with one child or more.

Lucky's Coins: Great for Preschoolers
(only 1 player necessary)
Silly leprechaun! The cat startled him and in his hurry to get away he spilled his coins from his pot of gold. Follow the coin trail, collect the coins, and be the first to find Lucky's hiding spot.
Make pots of gold and little leprechaun hats from cardboard tubes. You can make gold coins or buy them at the dollar store.

Did you know if you catch a leprechaun he has to grant you three wishes?
Give little pots of gold or mini leprechaun hats to each child. Hide the coins all around the house (like the Easter Bunny does) and send your kids on a hunt for the gold treasure. The one who finds the most wins. But who will find where the leprechaun is hiding? Hide dollar store leprechauns at the end of the rainbow/coin trail.

Jump to the end of the Rainbow:
(Fun PE game for homeschoolers of all ages)
How to Play game:
Find an area inside or outside where you can mark 6 - 8' in a straight line. Add a SENSORY PLAY element by using a roll of bubble wrap!
Write the name of the player(s) on a fake gold coin. To add an ART element to the game have the kids make their own coins with cardboard and construction paper. Coins will be used to mark their landing spot.
Now the fun begins! Tell the players they need to get in shape if they want to find the coins at the end of the rainbow. This game will improve jumping skills.
Each player stands at one end of the bubble wrap or marked area. (An easy way to mark a start and finish line is with jump rope or masking tape.) With both feet together, he swings his arms back and jumps forward as far as he can.
Leprechauns use magic to boost their jumps. Think positively as you prepare to jump and see if you can find inner magic to jump higher each time!
Mark the spot where the back of the heel lands with the coin.
Now for a MATH ELEMENT, measure the distance from the start line to the coin. How far did you jump?
Try several times to see if you can make it all the way to the end of the rainbow!

Little Leprechaun Corners:
Preschoolers and early elementary kids will love this game. The winner is totally random. How's your Irish luck?
To play this game you will need Construction Paper in rainbow colors, a leprechaun hat, and music.
Find a room with four corners. Now, place a color in each corner. Rug sample squares work nicely, but you can also tape construction paper to the floor or wall.
Next, find some music. To help students learn about Irish culture find bagpipe music or Irish ballads. Now, tell the players when the music plays they must move around anyway they want. This is the perfect time to go crazy and shake the sillies out! When the music stops they must run to a corner.
When all players have chosen a corner, pull a rainbow color out of a leprechaun hat. Everyone in that corner is out and must sit down. Start the music again and repeat until there is one child left in a corner!
Let this child wear the leprechaun hat for the day!

Leprechaun or Santa Placemat Papercraft Tanagram Game
Shh, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Santa is a
  leprechaun
. That's right, he just changes his clothes to green and dyes his hair and beard red. You can do it too! When you make our
  free printable template
just cut green and orange to make Lucky the Leprechaun for this tanagram placemat papercraft game for kids. It makes the perfect classroom activity for sitting quietly at your desk or use it at the dinner table to keep kids busy while you finish preparing dinner. Makes a great homeschool math lesson.

Cut tanagrams and hide in Santa's hat.
Click on the images below for printable templates or right click and save to computer to print. Trace and cut out all shapes. When sewing or gluing leave the top of the hat band open to insert the hat/napkin. I also used the face (just glued the sides) to make the storage space larger.

If you are really crafty, use felt or laminate the paper to make it last longer.

How to make French Toast Recipe: Kids Love It!
Wondering How to make french toast kids will love? This Recipe for French Toast is easy and kid-tested.

Use Cookie Cutters to make cute French Toast Shapes.

Stir up some eggs.
First of all, the type of bread used makes a big difference. Texas Toast works best, but any bread used should be toasted first. This helps prevent if from falling apart when dipping.

To make French Toast, Toast in toaster first.

Prepared Toast waiting for egg bath.
French Toast Recipe To prepare the dipping batter:
Preheat Griddle to high setting, coat with non-stick spray.
Grab a bowl and add 4-5 eggs. Stir the eggs to scramble them. Sometimes, I start with 12 eggs and then divide into two separate bowls- 1 for French Toast and 1 for scrambled eggs.
Next, I add a capful/1 tablespoon of vanilla and a splash of milk. I like to add the milk so they don't look to eggy. I even stir in a 1/ tsp. of cinnamon. Then, cut cute shapes from your toast or slice it to make FRENCH TOAST STICKS. Now, grab your tongs and get busy. You have to work fast, so the toast doesn't get too wet. Dip into batter, turn over to saturate, and remove quickly.

Add Vanilla to your eggs.

Add a splash of milk.

Cut into fun shapes with cookie cutters.

The kids ate the shapes so quickly ; I had to make french toast scraps!

Cut for French Toast Sticks.

Dip in quickly and pull out before they get too soggy.

Flip once while cooking.

They are done when golden brown and crisp.

Cooking the scraps.

Remove when golden brown.

We added powdered sugar, maple syrup, and caramel sauce. I know you shouldn't, but it is SO good!

Must be good, sure was fun for them. Here they devour the french toast trimmings.

Baby Carrying Babywearing Mama? You've got one Lucky Baby Fashion Statement. What style Sling are you?

Baby Backpack Carrier ~ How do they do that?
Water Mesh Sling Great for Shower Babywearing
Those cumbersome Baby Slings got little love when I was a babywearing mama. Apparently, I'm too uncoordinated to pull it off. I could never pull off carrying the baby in back. So, my babies faced forward eyes to the world and not to their babywearing mama. What a lucky baby who gets to snuggle tight to his mama and star in her wardrobe as a fashion statement accessory.
I can't believe all the fashionable baby sling options nowadays.
Hip Carrier: Cheek to Cheek
As a new Aunt again and a soon to be (ahem) step grandma, I decided to see what kind of baby carrying new moms are wearing these days. Here are a few of my favorites.
Maya Wrap Baby Sling looks comfy and stylish.
Make a baby fashion statement and change your sling colors to match your outfit.
I was always afraid my baby would suffocate, but these fabrics are breathable. The water carriers are mesh! Sure wish I'd had one of those when we went to the beach. So what style baby sling best fits your personality and fashion style? I love the Maya Wrap it's totally me, but the hip carrier seems more sturdy for baby security. Either way, baby is cuddled and snuggled to his Mama or Papa :)
