PROMO BLITZ: Where the Maple Leaf Falls by T.M. Sweetbriar

What the heart feels is often complex and difficult to understand. As we live and grow, we learn that sometimes the best decisions are the hardest to make. This is Nella’s story of strength and courage, as she becomes a young woman who learns that life’s turns are unexpected. Through family challenges, and a twisted romance, Nella’s spirit must remain strong for herself and for those she loves. But her feelings towards the mysterious new man in Maplewood are not making things easy for her. The more Nella falls for Jake, the more confused she becomes about her own life. Nella has always been everyone’s rock. But if she crumbles, she may break the binding she provides to her family, and let her own dreams slip away.

A powerful stream of hot water hit the top of my head and separated down all sides of my body. Dark water swirled down the drain as dirt and dust was rinsed from my legs and feet. Falling off of me, and washing away down a deep dark hole.
I pushed wet hair back out of my face and took a deep breath, finally creating movement with my body. I was not sure how long I’d stood in Jake’s shower, staring straight ahead, feeling too separated from myself to move.
Come to think of it, I wasn’t even sure I could recall all details of the time between Jake finding me on the side of the road, and me ending up in his tiny apartment shower. Whose faded green walls were covered in golden-brown rust stains, but I did not mind.
Exhaustion and dehydration made me shake. Or was it the stress? My sight seemed to come in and out of focus, and I leaned forward against the wall in front of me for support. My forearms up against the gritty plastic surface, and my head resting between them. I looked down at my feet and cried softly.
Jake’s deep voice outside the door startled me, as if I had forgotten where I was for a minute, “Are you okay in there?” He sounded like he cared. He did care.
“I’m….I’m okay I think,” I tried to sound alright.
“Can I come in?” he asked quietly.
“Yes. Come in,” I told him.
I pushed back the shower curtain, completely exposed to Jake when he opened the bathroom door. He stood there for a minute, the two of us looking at one another. Me, naked and withering under a consistent rain. My lip quivered, and I looked down again. Jake walked towards me and took me into his arms. He, fully clothed, now sopping wet. And me, now half in the shower and half out, melting into his body. Not crying any more, just weak and empty. My body and myself, in two different places. Myself, an outsider now looking in at the scene that was my own.
“I’m sorry, Nel,” Jake whispered as he picked the wet hair off of my face. I sunk into him further. He held nearly all of my weight as my legs felt numb. Jake stepped into the shower with me, all of what he was wearing was now completely wet. My arms moved from around his neck down the sides of his body, and our hands met. I stood on my own and looked up at him. He smiled just a little, but it helped me. I leaned in to kiss him, and reached to the ends of his shirt to pull it off.
The pain in my heart had numbed me, but the passion the two of us shared brought some life back into my body. However, my mind was not completely present. I went through the motion of running my fingers over the ripples in Jake’s muscles. I felt his warmth as he pressed his body against mine, then the warmth of his tongue as he ventured downward from my neck.
I leaned against the shower wall, the water still pouring down over the two of us. Jake owned my body and became more aggressive with every sigh he forced out of me. Was this love, or was it just a sense of feeling? I did not know. I did not care. But now I understood what it all was for Jake, when sex with me meant fixing whatever consumed his mind. It had become a routine for us, a temporary form of healing. And now the roles were reversed.
Jake found pleasure in focusing on me. He was saving me right then. He was taking me to a better place, and I loved him for that. I assured him I was okay through my breathing, through the comforted sighs he knew I was there. Jake was incredible, more than he had ever been before. Maybe this feeling was perceived happiness, maybe it would be different tomorrow. But in that moment nothing else mattered. Jake had saved me from my own self, and under the warm rain I fell in love with him once more.

COVER REVEAL & #PREORDER: One Prince Two Kingdoms by Jana Grissom

My forehead’s throbbing. One minute this girl is yelling at me for giving up and the next, she’s laughing. Whiplash.
I squint my eyes at Danielle and whisper with my lips firmly in place, “I will never give up.”
Her voice is high and cheerful, “So what’s your plan?”
Johnny Boggs is a teen with trouble to spare who has learned one thing in life - trust no one. Paranoia befriends him as he moves into his fifth foster home and discovers no one appears as they are, his dreams are not just dreams, and he is supposedly the Prince of Shamayim.
On Johnny’s sixteenth birthday, fate requires him to leave the protection of this world but allows for him to choose to reign over the light or turn to the darkness. A vicious competition begins as two kingdoms fight for his loyalty while two beautiful girls, Danielle and Shay, fight for his attention. Time is running out; a decision must be made. Johnny finds it impossible to resist the beauty of his dreams, nor can he turn away from the one who has his heart.

Footsteps enter my bedroom and approach my bunk. Not. Right. Now. I pretend to be asleep. A cold chill covers my body, making every hair stand on end. Then the bedroom door slams shut. I’m not in the freaking mood! Expecting to see one of my annoying foster brothers, I jerk my head toward the door and punch my fist into the mattress. “What!” I yell out, but no one’s there.
My eyes dart all around the room. Maybe there’s a draft, or someone shut another door causing this one to slam. Doubt it. I’m sure it’s just JC and Miguel trying to get even. “Hilarious, guys, I’m so scared. Now get the hell outta here.” I throw my pillow at the door and myself back on my bed.
An abnormal silence plays with my mind. I decide to reach for my headphones, but I can’t move. My heart jumps. No matter how hard I flex, my arm is stuck to the mattress. My lungs suck in air while every other organ aches under the pressure. An uncontrollable trembling takes over. What. The. Heck. Is. Going. On. My eyes blink over a hundred miles per hour. I can’t move, I can’t speak, I can’t, and then I realize I only have one ability left—sight.
Next to my bed stands a huge man with solid black corneas full of swirling dark fog in his vacant orbs, the Hollow Man. He’s staring me down again, but this time we’re the only ones in the room—no queen, no Camaro, no Mom. This can’t be real. It’s just another one of my crazy dreams. I go along for the ride, like I have a choice. The Hollow Man stands there clenching his fists, causing his abnormally large pecs to flex. My heart races, and my stomach threatens to return my lunch. An intense pain surges as he’s controlling every cell in my body without touching me.
The Hollow Man speaks, “Prince, why are you lying here as if you are a helpless child?” He turns off his death stare, and I feel an instant release followed by the familiar ache of a four-hour football workout in the Texas heat. Is this guy serious? Prince? And how am I supposed to fight something that isn’t really there? My chest tightens, and I try to wake up.

RELEASE BLITZ: Full Color by Traci Hayden

Six months after meeting Beth Huntley, William Lorde's world is full of bright and vibrant colors. The only darkness that exists hangs over Beth. Her refusal to believe that she can walk in the light side by side with William only makes him strive harder to prove otherwise.
Beth keeps a deep secret locked away, the very secret that makes her believe that she's not worthy of a happily ever after. She is convinced creating a life with William will only make him the man he was when they met.
Suddenly her past creeps back, threatening any chance she and William might have. Will she finally let down her last wall and allow William in? Will she accept the support and protection of those who love her most? Can she truly have a life full of colors and the joy of a forever? Or, will her past destroy it all?

I watched the interaction between them through the camera lens. Beth wrapped her fingers around Angel's tiny hands, pulling her up onto her feet. Beth took a step backward, lengthening the distance between them. Angel looked down at her feet, almost willing them to move. Her leg came up, moving her foot forward in a jerky motion. Her foot landed on a patch of grass, crushing it beneath her. She looked up at Beth, her eyes wide in amazement. She giggled as Beth stepped backwards again. She looked down and pulled her leg up, then realized she couldn't move that one forward without losing her balance. She put her foot back down and raised the other leg. A smile spread across her face as she continued this beautiful dance with Beth.

I was almost numb from the shock. Angel had made so many incoherent sounds over the months, but it had never been like this. She’d recognized me and had come to the realization that the word and I were connected. She repeated the word again and again as she took another unsupported step towards me. Then something grabbed her attention, throwing her concentration off. She lost her balance and grew quiet as she began to fall forward. I reached out, wrapping my hands protectively around her waist, pulling her into my arms.

COVER REVEAL: Contrasting Lives by Leah Dempster

Christ, he wanted another beer – badly. A submissive? He wasn't naive, and he knew what it meant, but hell – what did it mean for him? Just hearing her utter the word had increased his discomfort tenfold He’d been aroused from the second he’d seen her come around the corner at Salacious, and now, he was painfully hard, and his balls were on fire. What did that say about him? The thought of her being under his control, doing what he requested – willing to submit to his every desire. Shit.Matt finished his pasta in minutes, sitting back and waiting impatiently while Emily toyed with her food, eating a little and then pushing the plate away with a sigh. He eyed the plate and turned so he could study her face. “You didn't like it?”

He couldn't help himself; honest to God, he couldn't. The very idea of her being a submissive was driving him on to the point of insanity. He wanted to test the waters, so to speak. “Emily,” he said in a low voice. “Eat your dinner. Now, please.”For a long moment, Emily stared at him, her glorious blue eyes revealing a tiny flicker of surprise. And then, slowly, she picked up the fork and pulled the plate back towards her, twirling the strands of pasta onto the fork and eating.Matt watched as she ate – the very act of twirling the pasta onto her fork so carefully was a turn on. Knowing she was doing it because he’d demanded it was a turn on. The tiny tremble he saw erupt through her body, the way she shifted ever so slightly on the seat and squeezed her thighs together was making his blood boil in his veins. He leaned over so his mouth was close to her ear and whispered. “You like being told what to do?”Another tremble reverberated through her gorgeous little body when she nodded.Matt didn't move away, kept close to her ear as she ate, making certain his breath warmed the skin against her neck when he spoke again. “It makes you hot?”Again the little nod, another tremble erupting. Her hand shook as she carefully twirled the pasta, placed another small amount into her mouth.Matt straightened up, moving out of her personal space, even though it was the last thing he wanted to do. What he wanted to do – which scared the hell out of him – was to lay her down on this fake leather bench and fuck her senseless, until she exploded in his arms with a climax neither of them would ever forget. Pushing those heady thoughts to the back of his mind, he rested his arm across the back of the bench and clenched the glass of Coke in his hand, trying to pull his snarled thoughts into line. He smiled ruefully to himself – it wasn't going to be easy when all the blood in his body had settled into his groin. He felt lightheaded and it wasn't from too much alcohol, it was purely the effect of the woman sitting beside him.

RELEASE BLITZ & GIVEAWAY: Intercepted by Love by Rachelle Ayala

Pro quarterback Cade Prescott’s last play was to lose the Super Bowl for his team. To escape the bad press and recover from the disastrous season, he changes his appearance and hides away at a sleepy university town.Andie Wales’s first love is researching ancient bad boy kings. She is blissfully unaware of the Super Bowl and modern day bad boys. When her dog meets and mates with Cade’s dog, Andie’s first concern is to get her dog to a vet. She gets waylaid by Cade and his hunky good looks and has no idea just how out of her league Cade is.Despite his secrets, Cade feels differently about Andie and thinks he might be falling in love. Unfortunately, his past catches up with him, and he is forced to make a difficult decision. Can a professional athlete and a research librarian truly prove the axiom that opposites not just attract, but were meant for each other?

A man wearing a knit watch cap stared at her. His eyes moved from her face down to her toes, then traced a sensual path up between her legs, around her belly, lingering at her breasts before moving to her lips.“What are you doing here?” she hissed in what she hoped was an authoritative tone. “This is the private antiquities collection.”She’d have him know she was a librarian and a researcher. He, on the other hand, looked like a brute.Wide shoulders, thick neck, strong jaw with several day’s growth of beard, dark brown. Honey colored eyes. He was either a lumberjack or a stalker, and she was alone deep in the stacks of the library, underground in the bowels of the university. No one would hear her scream. No one would find her body.He chewed gum and blew a tiny bubble, his pink tongue pointing at her after the gum popped. A smirk lifted one side of his mouth as if he expected her to chastise him for chewing gum.She obliged. “No bubblegum in the library. I’m going to have to ask you to leave unless you show me your pass.”Andie certainly hadn’t given him a pass. She’d have remembered him. A man like this giant standing in front of her would cause quite a stir at the circulation desk.“Sorry, ma’am.” He spread his empty hands. “I heard a noise and thought to investigate. Can’t have any mice chewing up precious documents.”“A noise?” Holy macaroni. Could he have heard her squeak of delight when she fingered the artist’s rendition of David in the nude?Quickly, she shut the thick tome and crossed her arms. “Since you don’t have a pass, you must leave.”“I suppose you could give me one.” His eyes swept her chest, causing her nipples to stir.Oh, right, her name badge.“Andie Wales, would that be a Miss or Missus?” The man’s drawl drew shivers up and down her spine.“Miss, but to you, I’m Head Librarian, and I’m sorry. You must fill out a form in triplicate and have your driver’s license examined before I can issue you a pass.”“Can’t you make an exception for me?” The giant’s eyebrows perked. “I’m sure you know who I am.”Andie picked up the heavy book and placed it back on the shelf. Arrogant guys pissed her off, although truth to tell, if this guy had been in this small college town more than twenty-four hours, the entire village would have been buzzing about him.Handsome, rugged hunks didn’t frequent the backwoods of upstate New York, no matter how picturesque the town and how brilliant the fall colors and slippery the waterfalls were.

“Steve, stop!” I managed to say. He dropped my arm and wrapped his thick arm tightly around my waist.“Don’t tell me what to do, Amanda. You don’t tell me what to do. You got that?” The voice next to my ear sounded like it was shouting, but I knew it really wasn’t. This voice that, only a few months ago, had lulled me into feeling safe, now frightened me.I didn’t try to fight him; the fear of being held against my will did not allow me to think straight, must less fight. His breath slid past my right ear; I needed a way to calm him down, but my mind went blank. I did not know how to deal with the anger and agitation that had been growing in him recently.Steve released his arm from around my waist and turned me towards him, his other hand still wrapped around my thin neck. My eyes felt huge as I looked up at his face. Could he not see the fear and pain in my face? Did he not care? His brown eyes were wild.“You will stay away from Mark. Do you hear me?” This time he did shout at me, and I tried not to flinch. Without thinking, I reached up to pry his hands from my throat.

A tremor passed down my spine as I realized what he must mean, “I’m dead.” I spun back to the younger man, his fierce sea foam gaze observing me closely.“Yes, you are.”I swallowed and turned away. I watched a man fall to his knees, the pain on his face so evident that I wanted to comfort him. I felt like I had to help him, and I took a step forward.Brock materialized in front of me, blocking my path. “Not now, Coralenna. We must go.”I jumped back into a fighting stance, my arms up, my hands lightly fisted. “How did you do that?”A small chuckle came from behind me before Brock answered, “I just can, you will be able to soon, too. It is time to leave.”“Where are we going?”“Home, Coralenna, we are taking you home.”Montgomery stepped up beside me and smiled pleasantly. Without thought, I returned his easy smile, feeling at peace until I glanced over the scene again.“Did anyone else die?” I watched people running around. The man was now on his hands and knees, his head bowed as if he were crying. Was he crying for me? Why?“No, you saved the child,” Montgomery answered.

“Sorry, but I can’t. Why are you pointing a gun at me?” I asked him, purposely keeping my voice low. Rule number one for any hostage negotiator was to always remain calm and talk softly, to try to get the person to stop and listen. He regarded me again, glanced at his gun, and then looked back up at Ryan. “I’m pointing it at him, not you. Move!” he said loudly, although not quite shouting this time.“Wait a minute, why do you want to point a gun at this guy?” I pointed to Ryan over my shoulder. I still stood directly in front of him and his fear continued to roll over me like a stormy night on the beach. Thank God, I didn’t normally get sea sick. The gunman directed his attention back to me, this time keeping eye contact as he spoke. “Because I’m going to kill him. Now move, or I’ll shoot you, too!” His voice rose with each word.“Why would you want to kill this guy?” I turned to glance quickly behind me and saw Ryan staring over my head at the man with the gun.“Because my wife is in love with him!” he shouted. I almost found this funny. Almost. Half of the world’s population of women was probably in love with the Ryan. He was smoking hot, but you wouldn’t hear me say that out loud to anyone.

Holy hell, Greek gods really did exist. I had never believed it before, but today, I saw one in the living, breathing flesh. Even the harsh flickering yellow fluorescent lights that lit the industrial-looking hallway did nothing to distract from this masterpiece. His black dress shoes reflected the light as they rapped out a cadence on the plain white floor covering. His black dress pants held the perfect crease as they slithered up his legs. With each step forward, the muscles bunched as they pushed against the polished cotton. A simple silver buckle on his dress belt winked at me, taunting me.I locked my jaw to contain my drool. His tan dress shirt with thin black stripes, top button undone, and sleeves rolled up set off his physique to perfection, as if tailored for him.His chin was down as he stared at the floor. Could he feel my gaze stripping him naked? Was that why he slowly lifted his chin? Immediate recognition lit his face, and something flickered in his bright blue eyes. The grin that spread over his full lips dipped ever-so-slightly on the right. Holy hell was right! This man could make an angel fall from grace with just a smile.“There she is,” his words bounced off the plain beige walls.

A deep masculine voice reached my ear over my right shoulder and caused a shiver to go down my spine. “I’m not sure I like the idea of your son buying my daughter a present.”I spun around to view the man who had just spoken so intimately in my ear and had to look up. Holy cow! This guy could be the twin to the actor who played the leader of the wolf pack on that hot vampire cable series; only this guy had short hair. For a moment, I wasn’t sure if he was being serious or joking with me, but a sexy smile slid over his lusciously-full mouth, and I realized he was very much not upset.I cocked my head to the side, “And what makes you think it is for your daughter?”He grinned, “Because I can see the teenaged lust in his eyes.” I laughed at his comment and glanced at Josh and Jazzy. They were standing close, and she was holding bottles up for him to smell. The pure look of pleasure he wore on his features had nothing to do with what he smelled.“I’m Grant.” He held his hand out for me to shake and I placed my palm into his. His hands were huge and swallowed up my petite mitts.“I’m Rachel.” His hand spread warmth all the way up my arm.

“Hi Tasha. I know you told me not to reach out, but I wanted to thank you one more time. I can’t imagine going through what I did, without you by my side. You know, it’s funny, I have thirty five years of memories, and yet the only ones I want to think about are the six days with you. Why is that?” Jay signs heavily into the phone.“I should probably go, but how can I saw goodbye to the woman who holds half of my soul? Before I met you, I never believed in love at first sight, or soul mates, but with the way I feel right not, my whole theory on life has changed. I’m making a lot of changes in me too, and that’s thanks to you. You made me want to be a better man, and I’m working on it.” He paused for a long moment.“I guess I should go. I miss you every minute of every day, Tash. I hope you are doing really good and remember if you ever need anything, call me. I know you didn’t want me to tell you how I felt, but I have too. If I don’t say these words, someday I might regret the fact that I didn’t. I love you Natasha Foster, and I will never forget you. Goodbye.”

For one small moment I felt her hand squeeze my arm with the last ounce of her strength, and then her fingers released my arm and fell to the ground with a soft thud. I would never have my answer. Mick and I watched as the life flowed out of her. In that brief moment, time stopped and all was silent. It was as though I had been listening to her heart beat, and then it was no more. But suddenly, it was as if someone hit the volume button again, and the EMS and medics arrived and pushed Mick and me out of the way. We stood off to the side and watched as they tried to bring life back to this twenty-year-old woman. Damn…damn…damn! I clamped my eyes shut, took a deep breath, and yanked off my gloves as fast as I could, throwing them onto the ground in the growing pile of medical debris that was being used on her. It wouldn’t matter. No matter what they did, she was gone. I could not hear her heart beating anymore. Wait—I couldn’t hear her heartbeat even when it was beating...or could I? I shook my head to clear it. I was either more tired than I realized, or I was losing it.

“So here’s the deal…” I took a sip of my Firefly and inhaled again to gather my courage. “You guys remember three months ago when I was investigating that girl’s death, right?” Another nod around the room and they still remained silent. “Well, you also know that is when I met Alex and Julian. They were also investigating the incident, but for a different reason. The person who killed that girl had killed a lot of other people. In fact, he had been killing people for almost forty years.” “Wow…a serial killer and you got to work on the case?” Livy was impressed. “Why didn’t you say anything about that before?” “Doesn’t Alex own a security company? Why would he be involved in a homicide investigation?” Izzy asked. “Well, to answer both of your questions, it’s because of what the killer was. He wasn’t your regular run-of-the-mill guy just out on a killing spree. The guy was killing other people who were like him.” “What, was he killing other criminals?” Kat laughed. “If that was the case, you should have let him continue.” “No, not criminals.” I chuckled softly. “Man, I don’t even know how to say this.” I shook my head and downed the rest of my drink.

I wanted a man I could adore, and one that desired me for who I was, not how I could please him. I wanted a father for Allie, someone she could look up to so she could experience that not all men are as horrible as her father. I wanted a friend with whom I could share my life, the ups and downs and twists and turns that life threw at you. I wanted to be loved like a woman, not be a possession to be controlled.
My head told me over and over it was too soon to even consider filling that position, but my heart told me to take the vacancy sign down because the spot had already been filled. How was that possible? I stared at myself in the mirror a moment longer. I had my whole life to fall in love and have a happy family. I would take it one day at a time.I skipped down the stairs and had just reached the bottom step when the doorbell rang. I pulled the door open wide, and my heart dropped into my stomach as I was ripped off of cloud nine.“Well, if it isn’t my dear, sweet wife,” Todd smirked. “Don’t you look lovely—and alive.”

More love, more ink, more Kyle and definitely a whole lot more of Levi. Can Nix and Levi survive the reality of their life together or will it break them apart?

The night was young and Tyler asked me to stop by the club. I knew I was going to see her and I thought tonight would be the perfect moment to talk to her. For some reason, the idea of interacting with her made me nervous. My whole body transformed into a whirlwind of anxiety and excitement. There was a possibility that she would reject me but I had my ways of seducing a woman. I was going to give everything I had.
The music of the club was so loud that I could hear everything from my car. My hands were moist and trembling. I had never reacted this way for a girl, not even for a first date. This woman had gotten under my skin. As soon as I was inside, my eyes immediately searched for her and she was looking at me as Tyler welcomed me in. I could see the surprise in her eyes. Tyler wanted to talk about some legal questions he had. I was his unofficial lawyer, free of charge. Working in a firm wasn’t my thing, but I still got a kick out of helping and sharing my knowledge.
All this talking had taken time away from my plan to speak with her. I watched her for a couple of minutes and she seemed to be having a great time. Her smile, her eyes and her sex appeal, I liked everything about her.

''A smile. Give me one and I guarantee you’ll get the biggest tip tonight.'' Really, Levi? That’s all you got?
''You don’t want a drink? How about some water??'' She blushed. My words had surprised her, but she kept on rolling with her job. She was good at controlling her emotions but I knew there was something there.
''No, just a smile. You're the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen and I’d be satisfied with a smile.'' I ran my hand through my hair getting nervous about what her reaction would be to this.
She didn’t say anything back but she gave me a smile. Not just a tiny one, a freaking loving smile. Fuck, that girl was beautiful. Her name tag said Phoenix, and I was thankful that I had the time to look before leaving. I didn’t want to stay longer. My goal was to leave her questioning herself. Walking away now seemed like the best idea.
''Thank you, Princess. You just made my night.'' I said over my shoulder.
Her eyes burned holes into my shirt and my heart threatened to escape from my ribcage. The sound of her voice resonated into my mind and the sight of her beautiful lips haunted my mind.Phoenix didn’t know it yet but soon, she would be mine.
