He can’t remember a time he didn’t love her. It’s always been Mina.

But Finn’s spent the last decade looking for the right moment to tell her. “If she’s waiting at my locker between classes I’ll ask her out, if she smiles at me right now I’ll kiss her, if she calls me before I book the flights I’ll invite her to Cancun or Paris or London or Spain.”

Now he’s moving back to California just as she might be moving away. He’s done waiting for the perfect moment. He just needs to convince her to give him a chance and find a way to test the waters without ruining their friendship. Good thing Finn likes a challenge.

If you love hot businessmen, sexy s’mores, steamy showers and happy endings, download now.

Explicit content: This book contains hot, steamy love scenes. You’ve been warned.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

“Remember our first dance in junior high?” she asked.

He nodded.

He’d wanted to ask her to go with him but none of the other guys had asked a girl so he’d kept his mouth shut.

“Can you even call it a dance if nobody actually does any dancing?”

She laughed. “If you remember, the girls started dancing with each other. It was the guys who refused to step away from the wall.”

“Why are you bringing up all the times I got in trouble?”

“You got in trouble a lot,” she teased. “But it was the ninja moves that brought up that memory. You tried to use them on Toby.”

That wasn’t far from the truth. The other boys had started teasing him about how he was best friends with a girl. Then Toby Freeman had called Mina fat. They’d had to pull Finn off of Toby and both boys had been suspended for fighting.

It had taken him a while to learn to bide his time before exacting his revenge. The story had him wondering if she’d ever considered asking him to a girls’ choice dance.

“Have you ever thought about us dating before now?”

“Once or twice,” she said with a secret smile.

So more than once or twice, he smiled as well.

Author Bio:

Erin has always written romance with a little action ;)

One of her most honed skills is fantasizing so she decided to bring those fantasies to life and share them with you.

When she's not writing, she can usually be found reading, exploring California with her family, having random dance parties with her daughter, taking her geriatric dog to the vet (yet again), or procrastinating...I mean working on her laptop.

BOOK BLITZ: Bossy by N.R. Walker #GIVEAWAY

Bossy
N.R. Walker
Publication date: March 4th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, LGBTQ+, Romance

Michael Pietersen isn’t up for complications. He’s one of Sydney’s fastest-moving career-focused corporate realtors, and the only thing he has time for is one-night stands with zero fuss.

Bryson Schroeder’s back home from two years overseas with plans to leave his family’s hotel empire and begin his own business ventures. Out with his friends to celebrate his return, he sees a gorgeous blond man across the bar, and with barely a smile and a raised eyebrow, they leave together for a night of incredible chemistry.

But the rules are clear: no names, no details, no complications.

But one night becomes one more night, and eventually the arrangement suits them both for weeks . . . until their professional and personal worlds collide. With their hearts already on the line, Michael and Bry need to decide just how complicated they want to get.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

It was Friday night, the bar on Sydney’s George Street was busy, the music loud, the vodka and limes were going down a little too easy. There were so many suits and egos, it was hard to tell where the corporate world ended and the supposed night off began.

It was Friday night, for God’s sake, and all around me were conversations about commissions, clients, contracts, cases, and codes.

I mean, I loved it.

It was what I did. Corporate deals, high-end clients, prime real estate. Fast-talking, smooth and savvy, high-pressure, high-stress. Location, location, location.

But after an excruciatingly long week, I wanted to leave work behind, if only for a few hours. I wanted to not talk about business.

I wanted to let it all go, just for a night.

I wanted to find some guy who could make me forget. A guy who could take me home, forgo all manners and small talk, and take me to bed. I wanted to destress and detangle.

I just wanted uncomplicated sex.

But not just any sex. Oh no. I wanted really, really good sex. I wanted to get dicked so hard and so completely, I couldn’t remember my own name.

So, while some Friday nights I did come here to network like most of the other suits, tonight I was looking for a different kind of working relationship. A physical relationship with mutual benefits.

A lot of the faces were familiar. This was the finance district after all and we all moved in the same circles. I’d been with a few of these guys as well, and yes, sure, I could have given Brad a nod or Hunter a smile, and I knew damn well how the night would end.

But I wanted something new. Something fresh and exciting and someone I didn’t have to ever see again.

And that’s when I saw him.

Tall, dark hair, solid build, dark eyes, and a nervous smile. The way he looked around the bar told me he was new here, and he wasn’t sure he fit in. Call me superficial, but I could tell by his T-shirt that he didn’t fit in here.

Don’t get me wrong. Don’t misunderstand. I wasn’t judging him. But in my line of work, I could spot money when I saw it. Or when it was missing. Like telling the difference between a thousand-dollar suit and a ten-thousand-dollar suit. Or real Italian leather shoes. Or the difference between a Canali and a Charvet necktie.

It’s what made me good at my job. I could tell the serious buyers from the players by the way they walked.

Like the four guys he’d walked in with. They were just four more suits and egos, but this guy was different. And his T-shirt was cool, as was the way he wore it. But in a room full of Armani, Brioni, and Gucci, he wore a vintage The Clash tee, black skinny jeans, and— Wait . . . Those were Alexander McQueen boots.

I liked it.

I liked it a lot.

Maybe I stared one too many times for a touch too long while he drank his beer, because one of his friends nodded toward me and shoved his arm. He met my gaze and I held it until he smiled and looked away. One of his other friends laughed and said something, giving him another shove, and after replying something that made them laugh, he made his way through the crowd toward me.

I was leaning on the bar and he just walked right up, half-pressing against me, to put his empty beer bottle on the counter. He smelled so good. “Evening,” he said, his voice deep.

I smiled because that was kind of direct, and I was glad we were on the same page. “Evening,” I replied. “Love your shirt.”

His eyes never left mine; his lips pulled up on one side. “Thanks.”

“Can I get you a drink?” I asked.

“Sure.”

I signalled to the barkeep for another two. Two of what? I didn’t care. I turned back to him. “I’ve not seen you here before.”

He smirked. “I’ve not been here before.”

Mmm. Playful, then.

“Can I be frank?”

“You can be whoever you want.”

The server put two vodkas and lime on the bar, and I handed over a twenty before passing The Clash his drink. I didn’t know his name. I didn’t want to know his name. “Your friends are watching,” I said.

He didn’t turn around. “They’re taking bets to see how long it takes.”

“How long what takes?”

“For us to leave.”

Okay then.

He stepped in a little closer. His eyes smouldered. “Did you still want to be frank?” His voice was like velvet.

“Depends,” I replied.

“Depends on what?”

“On how much you have wagered on us leaving right now. I mean, how much will you win if we leave right now as opposed to twenty minutes from now? I’m all for enterprise bargaining and helping a guy out. I hope you backed yourself.”

He chuckled, warm and throaty. “That’s very considerate of you. And out of interest, when we do leave here, where do you envisage us going?” He glanced at his friends then, giving me a wonderful view of his jaw and neck before turning back to me. “Should I tell them to wait up for me?”

I sipped my drink, trying to hide my smile. “I live just two minutes from here, so the walk won’t take long. But, that being said,” I hedged, locking eyes with him, “I can’t see us being done until morning.”

His smile became a grin, he threw back his drink and again pushed me against the counter, closer this time, so he could put his empty glass down. With his strong body against mine, he grunted softly, and the sound sent a shiver through me. Warmth pooled low in my belly.

“I’m ready when you are,” he murmured.

Fucking hell, I was so ready.

“Then let’s go.”

His friends laughed as we walked out, and I couldn’t even be pissed about it. So what if he’d come out tonight to pick up. So had I. It was my one and only mission tonight, and it had taken all of five minutes. From locking gazes with him across the room to walking out.

Five minutes, tops.

I liked that there was no small talk. There was no ‘come here often’ bullshit. Hell, I still didn’t even know his name.

BOOK BLITZ: Something Wicked by Emery Nicolson #GIVEAWAY

Something Wicked
Emery Nicolson
(Lockhart Legacy, #1)
Publication date: March 1st 2021
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Urban Fantasy

Something wicked this way comes…
You’d think being the descendant of powerful witches would grant me the power to sort out my life, right? But you’d be wrong. I’m stuck in a rut, disdained by my family, and my romantic life is a disaster. Oh, and did I forget to mention that I have no magic?

When a cursed heirloom is stolen, I should stay out of it and leave the retrieval to those better equipped but everything seems to lead back to me…

With the help of an enigmatic bounty hunter, I may be able to clear my name and retrieve the artefact before death and chaos are unleashed upon my beloved city but doing so could cost me everything — including my life.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

It feels like I have just fallen asleep when I’m awoken by someone obnoxiously ringing my doorbell, over and over and over again.

Blinking sticky eyes open, I roll over and check the time on my phone screen. Seven o clock! Who in their right bloody mind goes knocking on someone’s door at that time on a Saturday? It is cruel! It is unnatural! But whomever it is they are not buggering off like I hoped they would, leaving me no choice but to get out of bed and answer the door.

“Alright, alright! I’m coming!” I yell, stomping down the hall. I flick on a light switch and peek through the peephole. “Bitch!” I shout through the door as I start releasing the locks.

There are quite a few, so it’s a bit of a slow process, but when you live in a basement apartment, I feel you can’t be too careful.

“Stop your whining Lockhart! I’ve got to be at work in an hour and details can’t wait!”

Pulling the door open, I am faced with the happy smiling face of my BFF Sarah. I have a strong dislike for morning people but at least this pre-dawn menace has the decency to come bearing gifts.

“Do I smell bacon?” I ask, as she marches past me with a brown bag of goodness and a cup holder with two coffees.

“Hell yes, it’s bacon. You think I’d be stupid enough to wake the bear without bringing a sacrifice?” She calls as she makes her way to the front room. “Bring plates in won’t you!”

“Yes dear,” I mumble, more to myself than to her as I yawn and do exactly as I’m told.

BOOK BLITZ: Fused With Him by Kylie Kent #GIVEAWAY

Fused With Him
Kylie Kent
Publication date: February 28th 2021
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

ReillyI learnt the hard and painful way that men don’t stay, ever. Even the ones you trust the most can be taken away in the blink of an eye. It’s easier to keep them at a distance. I have my fun with men and then part ways.

I’ve spent the last five years of my life avoiding any and all emotional connections with men. I’ve been successful at it too. I’ve built up walls with so much mortar and rendered them around my heart.

That is until Bray freaking Williamson came barging into my life with his perfectly sculpted tattooed body and entrancing green eyes. He was like being tempted by the most delicious chocolate brownie, the perfect mixture of rough on the outside and soft gooey on the inside. He came at me with his damn bulldozer, effectively destroying my carefully constructed walls, brick by brick, leaving a pile of rubble behind

Do I follow what my fragile heart wants and give into temptation? Give him the key to my heart knowing how easily he could crush it? Or should I follow my brain and run far, far away from this god of a man?

BrayI’m a fighter not a lover. I’m ruthless in the cage, an undefeated champion.

I always fight for what I want, and I always win no matter the odds. What I want comes in the form of a beautiful feisty, independent redhead.

She won’t agree to be mine, yet, but I’m happy to agree to disagree with her on that, because she is mine. She wants to run, that’s fine I’ll run faster. She wants to hide, I’ll hunt her and I won’t stop until I find her. Everyone in Sydney is about to learn that the fusion of Bray and Reilly is happening.

Run, hide and deny all you like, I’m a fighter and this is one fight I won’t give up on. Brielly is here to stay.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

“Now, I want it now, Bray.”

“Demanding little thing when you’re horny, aren’t you? You can’t have my cock now. You’re going to come on my hand now, Reilly. Then you will sit through the whole of dinner knowing that by the end of the night, my cock will be buried deep inside your cunt.”

Argh, why can’t I have it now? I need it,” she argues. She’s so close to coming though. I can feel her body quaking, trembling all over, the urgency in her movements increasing.

“Be a good girl, Reilly, and come for me now,” I demand, my voice husky and filled with need. She does not let me down. She comes all over my fingers, her screams of pleasure music to my fucking ears. I ease up my strokes as she comes down from her orgasmic bliss.

Her cheeks are rosy and her face a picture of pure bliss and relaxation. I ease my fingers out of her, putting them straight to my mouth. Now it’s my turn to moan. Her taste is just as fucking sweet and delicious as I remember. I take my time licking all of her juices off my fingers, savouring the taste.

“Thank you,” I say to her as I gently kiss her lips.

“You’re welcome?” she questions.

I can’t help but laugh as I pull the seatbelt over her and buckle her back in. “Let’s hope this dinner goes fast so I can get you home and naked in my bed.”

As I’m buckling my seatbelt, Reilly halts my movement, grabbing my arm. “Wait, don’t you want me to, you know, return the favour?” she asks, waving her hand in the direction of my very obvious cock.

“As much as I would love that, the next time I come is going to be when my cock is buried inside your pussy,” I declare.

Ahh, okay then.” She lets go of my arm and settles into the seat. “You’re really good at that, by the way.”

I laugh, “What kind of boyfriend would I be if I wasn’t? I can’t have my girlfriend left unsatisfied and wanting, now can I? That would not be good for my rep.”

“Don’t you think you’re wearing out that whole boyfriend/ girlfriend title thing already?” She smiles.

“Probably, we should go to Vegas and get married by Elvis, then I can move on to calling you my wife already. Also, I look fucking great in a tux.” My suggestion is not received well.

“Please tell me you are joking and haven’t gone all grade-A crazy on me already. I’m barely accepting that you have the boyfriend label, Bray. There is no way in hell you’re getting promoted to husband label after one day of actual dating. Who does that anyway? That’s crazy. Like straight jacket kind of crazy. Should I call Zac now and tell him he needs to have you scheduled? Are you sick?” She finishes her rambling with the back of her hand against my forehead.

“Not sick, babe. Relax, it was a joke.” I watch as her body begins to relax before I tack on the “mostly” to the end of my sentence. She glares at me. I think I need to remind myself that this one is a flight risk; I need to think before I speak a bit more. It was a joke though; I couldn’t actually fly her to Vegas to marry her tonight. I wouldn’t be able to get a jet booked until at least tomorrow.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo / Google Play

EXCERPT:

MAURICE WAS RIGHT. There was no going back now. Her pussy throbbed at his words, and she closed her eyes with the second punch of lust to hit her since he’d arrived. But what was the right way forward? Was it spending this weekend with him, possibly exploring all the things they’d written about doing? Or was it walking away and, come Monday morning, trying to work together amid the intimate knowledge they now had of each other? Reclaiming her life had suddenly become more complicated.

“How would this weekend even work?” Because her body was sending signals that didn’t coincide with her brain’s advice to get the hell out of here.

Maurice shrugged. “We can either go back in there and mingle like everyone else. Or we can get dinner and then head to our rooms. Tomorrow’s agenda begins at nine with Morning Sex Mania and Make-Up and Mimosas at eleven.”

She leaned back on the couch, resisting the urge to sigh. Being frustrated about how things had turned out wasn’t going to change a damn thing. This was the hand she’d been dealt, and now she needed to figure out how she was going to manage the situation. “I mean, what happens on Monday morning when we walk into the office together?”

“You get to work way too early in the morning for me, so there’s zero chance we’ll be walking in together.”

Narrowing her eyes at him did nothing to kill the goofy grin he was wearing. “Don’t play, you know exactly what I’m talking about.”

“I know you’re taking this too seriously.”

“You’re not taking it seriously enough.” When it came to any type of interaction with men, she always took things seriously. She had no other choice. She’d been caught off guard before, and she wasn’t about to be in the position of having no control again.

Maurice shook his head quizzically. “Why should I? So what, we chatted on some message board for three months. That’s our private business, and we don’t have to answer to anyone for what we do in private. If we want to take those conversations to another level, same goes. It’s our decision.”

“I work for your father,” she said as if he didn’t already know. “And you’re just three steps shy of being called a manwhore across all media outlets. If anybody caught wind of the fact that we spent a weekend having freaky sex at a ski resort, we’d both be in for a whole lot of scrutinizing and questions. Is that what you want?”

EXCERPT:

Chapter Twenty-Nine

A Day to Do

April woke at first light, seeing she had slept on top of the bed instead of climbing in under the blankets. After putting the coffee percolator on the burner, she went and checked the boat’s position at the lower helm. Starting the engines, she steered southeast in the northward Gulf Stream and watched the blue swells until the boat was pretty much in the same location as the day before.

“At least eat,” she instructed herself, it being twenty-four hours or more since her last meal. Opening a can of stew, she ate it cold with a spoon while sipping coffee. Looking at the closed laptop at her elbow, she hesitated to reach for it.

“Only one way to deal with fear.” She opened the lid and started the computer.

Her fingers unsteady above the keys, the vision from the previous day’s nightmare came fully into view. The big dark doorway at Klave’s. Her imagination ran with and gave her the rolling door crashing down and up fast like steel teeth chomping, chewing.

“Back off.” Her shoulders shuddered, and she barked at the vignette.

Opening a secure internet browser, she launched the messaging application.

After addressing an email to Allison, she froze for a minute, her fingertips quivering. The three hardest words she ever typed displayed.

April: Did she die?

Hitting send, she stared at those three words, waiting for the reply that she couldn’t will Allison to answer.

***

Sometime later, she opened a browser alongside the messaging application where her question to Allison still floated without an answer. The local television stations had previously recorded ‘on scene’ footage ripe with frightful images of Klave’s with the breathless voices of newscasters. There were no details of any worth.

Opening the online Daytona Beach News-Journal, the story was in the banner.

Three Killed in a Possible Attempted Robbery

April read that David Klave was declared dead on the scene. She learned that Molly’s pal, Dennis, was also murdered, evidence suggesting that he was trying to cover and protect another victim. No other names were offered, pending notification of next to kin. One man had been shot twice and was expected to survive. He was being attended to in the ICU at Memorial Medical Hospital. There was nothing about the third victim. No mention of Molly or her status.

She saw her own name given as one of the ‘persons of interest.’

Klave’s employees were quoted as saying that the suspect had a long face that was injured. He had driven off in a late model red Corvette, heading north.

She read three more news reports in the Ormond Beach, Orlando, and St. Augustine newspapers, the body count making the story a headliner. There was no additional information, only a recap and worthless commentary.

She closed the browser and looked to the messaging application.

No reply from Allison.

She sent the text again and waited ten long and painful minutes.

Leaving the table for the flying bridge, she grabbed a bottle of water and a package of the saltines she had seen her sister snacking on. The light went out over the middle of the galley as she left, and she made a mental note to put in a fresh bulb.

Up top, the breeze was sweeping away the heat of the day. She checked her location, fired the engines, and spent the next hour staring at the ocean until she had the boat back in place.

Climbing down the ladder, she went inside and saw that Allison had not replied.

“My beautiful Molly…” she held her eyes closed, “… I’m still hoping.”

She spent the rest of that day at the lower helm, getting up every half hour to look for a message from Allison.

As the sun set at her back, she went inside to look again. The darkening galley reminded her to find a package of light bulbs and a step-ladder. She found both in the click-lock supply closet and had the dead bulb out and was poised to twist in the new one when it slipped from her fingers. It shattered, and she got a new one from the closet, along with the dustpan and broom. The second bulb went in easily, and she climbed down to sweep up the aluminum cone and shards.

The messaging application pinged.

Instead of hurrying to it, she stalled, fearful of the news. She finished up the sweeping and stepped to the table, the ball of her right foot landing on a stabbing missed piece of glass.

“Brilliant.” She felt the deep cut as she swung around on the bench and looked to the message screen.

April: Did she die?

Ali: Don’t know.

April: Find out.

Ali: I’m on it. It is a fuck storm here. Wasn’t here when it happened. Parts store.

April: You learn anything?

Ali: Yes, of course.

BOOK BLITZ: It's a Zin to Tell a Lie by Pamela Gibson #GIVEAWAY

It’s a Zin to Tell a Lie
Pamela Gibson
(Love in Wine Country)
Publication date: February 3rd 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Emma Bradford, world class pianist, is tired of living out of suitcases and wants to change her career. When she returns to Napa to consider her options and play for a friend’s wedding, she discovers a nasty surprise. The man who called off their engagement two years ago will also be there and there’s no way to avoid him.

Antonio Reynoso is a dissolute playboy living on a Caribbean island. At least that’s what he’s let his family believe. He’s purposely stayed away so he won’t be tempted to break a promise and try to win back the only woman he’s ever loved.

But when he and Emma are unexpectedly thrown together during a violent storm, Antonio’s resolve begins to weaken and he wonders if leaving her had been a mistake. His wine country family says yes, and with a little well-intentioned meddling, he and Emma might just get a second chance.

EXCERPT:

It took every ounce of courage she possessed to walk over to where Antonio was sitting, the bottle of wine in her hand, aware of her pantlegs tightening with every step, the sway of her ponytail as it brushed her shoulders.

She swallowed several times before she reached him, noting again how broad his shoulders were and how tanned his face and arms. He looked up at her with those emerald eyes, and her stomach tickled like it had soft cotton balls floating inside.

The old line—one they’d often used when teasing each other—came out of her mouth without even thinking.

“How are you Tony, and remember, it’s a zin to tell a lie.”

“No lies today. You’re brave to come out here and sit with me. And that’s the truth.”

She tried to smile, but it didn’t quite happen. “Everyone’s been treating me like I’m made of freshly blown glass. I tell them you and I are the past and we’ve both moved on. They don’t believe me.”

He seemed to be mulling over his response before he spoke. “They’re Reynosos. Emotional. Devoted. Protective of those they love. They’ve adopted you as one of their own. I’m the outcast now.”

She nodded, focusing on a few blades of grass at her feet. “Does it bother you?”

“I try not to think about it, so maybe it does. I miss this.” His arm swept out. “Family gatherings, and hearing about the progress made on Lindsay’s restored house, and Paige’s latest cabernet crop, and Aiden’s new venture as a small-town newspaper editor. I get my family news from Nana. She doesn’t judge.”

“She judges. She just doesn’t let on. Likes to tell people she’s omniscient.”

“And lovable. Don’t forget that.”

Her mouth did turn up at the corners then, she couldn’t help it. Nana was a safe subject, and one that invariably led to smiles.

“People are starting to notice us, Tony. Your mother is frowning and grabbing your Dad’s arm. They’re talking about us now. She keeps slanting glances our way.”

“Dad won’t turn to look, though. He’s stoic. He won’t let her come over here, either, and boy, does she want to.”

She held the glass up and Tony took it from her hand, a tiny zing of heat where their fingers touched. Damn. The chemistry was still there.

“Tell me how you are, Tony. Remember, this is just a friend asking.”

He handed the glass back to her and she refilled it, taking a sip. They often did this, sharing one glass of wine at dinner so the designated driver would be sober when they left.

“I’m good, but I could be better.”

“Too many wild island nights getting you down, huh?” She hadn’t meant to be sarcastic, but it slipped out. He’d hurt her so badly two years ago, she didn’t think she’d ever recover. But her music saved her. “Sorry.”

“I deserved it. How about you? Your career has taken off. Every time I talk to Nana, she tells me about another tour you’re on.”

“I love music. But the travel gets old. And I’m getting old without fulfilling my dreams.”

He turned to her and touched her face, gazing deeply into her eyes. “I thought a glittering concert tour was your dream.”

“And here I distinctly remember telling you it wasn’t. But some men never listen, do they?”

She brushed his hand off her face and stood. “I’ll leave you the bottle. Nice talking to you, Tony. Maybe your family will believe me when I tell them I’m okay with you being here.”

“Are you?”

She shrugged. “I’m not sure.”

Filling her lungs with the cleansing air of a civil confrontation, she walked back toward the crowd, her eyes fixed on the golden leaves of an aspen tree. Awkward, but the conversation had to take place, and it needed to be done in full view of staring eyes.

She wanted to send a message. I’m okay. I’m good. I’m truly over him. And while a part of me can never forgive him, I can stand to be civil in a social situation.

But that would have been a lie.

She would never be over him. Every string of her soul tightened and vibrated at his touch.

And that was the truth.
