"Must do Better"
Every single school report I ever got had that written somewhere on it. It wasn't because I was lazy or didn't try hard enough, but because I was a chatter and allowed myself to get easily distracted. This hasn't changed much now that I'm an adult.
4 days into Camp, I'd managed to rework 6 chapters of the story I started during regular NaNo last November, and started to write new material for it. I managed a word count of 2,351. Then, on the 5th day (yesterday), I did absolutely nothing. The evening before, after having written over 700 words, I needed a break, so I sat down to read some books that I had won in a contest on Facebook.
Yesterday, my mother in law came to visit for the day, and I was so exhausted after walking around a shopping centre for over 4 hours, I pretty much collapsed in bed with my Kindle.
So, today I'm playing catch-up which is always fun. It's currently 3.45pm and whilst I have been productive around the house and on my book review blog (look at page tabs at the top of this blog for a link), I haven't written a word. Time to knuckle down and get writing because... look at my stats....
Yeah, never gonna meet my 25k target!I also need to think of a title, as I don't think Freedom to Fly works anymore. I SUCK at titles.

Camp NaNo has begun
Day one word count = 543. Doesn't sound a lot does it? But considering I haven't actually written since I submitted "Movies" for the RenRom Beach reads compilation, I'm pretty happy. Plus, I'm going rebel and am editing/reworking the piece I started for NaNo back in November.
I'm keeping in touch with anyone who's taking part both on twitter (using #CNNWRRP) and on the new page set up by the wonderful S. A. Jones Camp RenRom.Come and join us.
S. A. Jones has also compiled a bunch of goodies to be given away at the end of April. Check out the details on her blog
So, I shared this teaser over on my author page on FB, but thought it would go down well here too.Meet the wonderful Ed:
Ed Clancy is gorgeous. He’s six foot, two inches in his socks, which makes me feel petite at my above average five foot nine. His blue eyes stand out against his black, curly hair which was cropped close to his head. I remembered the first time we met, working as Christmas temps in HMV in a local shopping centre. I was late and ran into the staff room just as he opened his locker, into my face. Well, my left ear... right onto my brand, spanking new forward helix piercing. That bitch hurt and I cried like a baby. I think that was what scared Ed more than anything else. There I was, twenty-six years old, curled up in a ball on the sticky, blue carpet clutching my ear while Ed tried to calm me down, worried he was going to get sacked on his first day.
He was lucky I don’t bruise easily; otherwise our friendship could have been non-existent. It also helped that when we finished our shift, he took me to the Mexican in the food hall I’d always wanted to try, to grovel and apologise again. It was then I realised he was destined to be my ‘gay best friend forever’. We became inseparable, even after the temporary jobs ended.

Camp NaNoWriMo
I must be CRAZY....
I'm taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo this July. I'm aiming to write 25,000 words more if possible) and complete the novel I started during the last NaNoWriMo in November. I'm going to rework what I already have (about 14k) as I want to "attempt" to add a paranormal element to the story as it's a genre I've always wanted to delve into. There will still be the chicklit/humour element - I hope!
Come and friend me here
Hope to see you there...

Which Actor do I Have a Thing For?
I decided to hop on over to R. E. Hargrave's blog to answer a few questions and for her to spotlight Right Click, Love a little for me. I think she's pretty awesome for doing that!

4 Thumbs Up!
When a friend sends you a message telling you they really enjoyed your book, a little voice in the back of your head whispers "do they mean it, or are they just saying that?" - Well, it happens to me anyway...
Then, someone you've never met reads and enjoys your book. It's the best feeling in the world!
This has just happened to me, over on the Bookend 2 Bookend blog.
Read it here and maybe win a copy

Happy Valentine's Day
I'm not a big believer in Valentine's day really. I'm of the thought that if you love someone, you should show them all year round rather than just one day.
BUT... as way of a celebration, here's a snippet from my latest novella which I will be submitting for the Renaissance Romance Publishing Beach Reads open call.
The sand was warm against my feet as I walked from the house to join the party. I’d gotten over my fit of the weepies, washed the blotches from my face with cool water and then applied minimal makeup to ensure I looked somewhat human. With a final fluff of my lose hair, I felt ready to face the world, and Morgan. With an ice cold bottle of cider slowly warming in my hand, I walked around looking for Erica. I found her with Liam and his friends who were manning one of the barbeques. The scents hit me, causing my stomach to rumble and mouth to water. I grabbed myself a burger, slapped it in a bun with a touch of salad, and smothered it in spicy relish before sitting with Erica and eating. I listened to the many conversations going on around me without joining in. I was still thinking about Marcus and how he was going to deal with everything when I got home. I’d ignored the situation for so long, but now I’d made my final choice, I just wanted it over and done with.I was beginning to get a little bored of all the talk about finding the perfect wave and overuse of the word ‘dude’, that I told Erica I was going to get another drink and then mingle some. I walked away before she had the chance to either say anything or join me. The house was so cool, I sat down to relish it for a while, sipping at my fresh drink. After a while, I decided to take a walk around, see what else was happening at the party. I grabbed my sunglasses and walked back out into the heat.“Ava?” Morgan jogged up the stairs to meet me. “Could I have a word with you?”
I hope you enjoy it!

The Sober Hockey Player
When I read through the questions for this feature interview, I honestly didn't know what to pick as a) I didn't just want to harp on about my writing as always and b) there were some REAL toughies. I hope I struck a happy medium with those I did choose.

Friday Fun on Girl Who Reads
I recently submitted to be featured over on the Girl Who reads blog. I didn't want to just write about writing so I opted for the Friday Fun "segment". Then I got stuck about what to write so I wrote about something that very nearly made it into Right Click, Love, but didn't.
I cringed just writing it...
