An Extraordinary Tour

Wheeler Centre and Melbourne Writers' Festival

I'm very pleased to write that I'll be involved in three forthcoming events in Victoria over this month and next. This weekend I'll be participating in two events with Melbourne's fantastic Wheeler Centre, one alongside Jo Case, and the other with musicians Lior and Genevieve Lacey.

The 2014 Emerging Writers' Festival

I am absolutely delighted to be a 2014 Ambassador for the Emerging Writers' Festival in Melbourne this weekend, alongside Maxine Beneba Clarke, Krissy Kneen, Benjamin Law and Felix Nobis.

We'll be appearing in several events over The EWF National Writers' Conference (31 May - 1 June), and my events are listed below. Upcoming Events in the US

I'm thrilled to announce that I have touched down on American soil, and will be visiting US bookstores and libraries over the next couple of weeks to speak about my debut novelBurial Rites (in paperback with Back Bay). My Reading Year

Ever since 2008 I have been in the habit of noting down the books I read. What started as a practical means to keep track of titles used for university research has become an ever-lengthening list that is almost diaristic. When I flick through the thin pages of my notebook I am reminded of what I was doing, and what I was thinking by the books I was reading at the time.
