Sadly my list is the same as last Wednesdays. I’m still working on this one, although I read up to the middle while waiting at the hairdresser’s yesterday.
What did you recently finish reading?
Diary of a Mad Housewife by Sue Kaufman
What do you think you’ll read next?
Ruthless (Pretty Little Liars Book #10) by Sara Shepard
It came in the mail this week, so I can get to it next.

Monday Mashups for 17 Jun 2013
Monday Mashups are a collection of interesting book-related items that I’ve found recently.
I started getting the Orange County, Florida Library Teen Book Club newsletters. They always have a good book to recommend with free excerpts. Today it’s Maureen Johnson’s The Madness Underneath.
From that, I discovered Author Buzz. I’m sure I’m late to the party on this one, especially in the librarian circles, but anything with new book giveaways needs mentioning.
YA Book Shelf reviewed Rush by Eve Silver. I like aliens, so I’ve put this on my to-read list. It sounds kind of cool.
Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
Describe one of your reading habits.
Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!
My Musing:
I just got The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening (Book #1) on my Kindle from the library. It’s not usually my type of book (though I read all of the Twilight books.) L.J. Smith has a way of getting the reader engrossed in the story though. I may read a chunk of it before putting it aside but it was something I was mildly curious about, especially since I’m on a diary kick these days. I’ve read the first chapter and it doesn’t seem too bad even though the vampire thing is so over-done. I’ve never watched the show, so luckily I don’t have anything to compare it to as I read. (I just know Boone from Lost is in it somewhere.)

Friday Reads for 14 Jun 2013
This weekend I’ll be reading Stunning (Pretty Little Liars #11). There is a big reveal that happened in Book #10 that I just got in the mail today, so I’m going to have to read that one right after.
FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).
My finds:
No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale
All Good Childrenby Catherine Austen
A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
Linked by Imogen Howson
Happy Reading and Happy Friday!

I haven’t read any more of my of my Pretty Little Liars books, since I bought Killer and Heartless (books 6 and 7) and still have yet to read them. (They’re hiding somewhere in the box-o-books in the living room.) But I saw Stunning at the library, so I grabbed it because it’s wrong to go to a library without taking something home. Of course I’ve missed some big reveal and plot twist from Ruthless (book 10), so I had to order that one as well. These are my guilty pleasures books, so I may as well own all of them. I bought Pretty Little Secrets in May as well.
What did you recently finish reading?
Diary of a Mad Housewife bySue Kaufman
I loved this book. I like diaries about people’s normal, screwed up lives. Makes for such good literature.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Ruthless (Pretty Little Liars Book #10) by Sara Shepard
So this one is on it’s way from Amazon, so I’ll have to read this one soon to get the whole story of Jamaica and the real A.
Happy Reading and Happy Wednesday!

Friday Reads for 07 June 2013
I’m half way through Diary of a Mad Housewife, and I’m really enjoying it. I find it really interesting to see how differently the 70s changed women’s views on independence and the typical 60s idea of what a housewife should be.

My finds:
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
Elemental (Book #1) by Antony John (The cover art is really a lot like Divergent, isn’t it?)
May We Be Forgiven by A.M. Homes (Winner of the 2013 Women’s Prize for Fiction.)

Two Things Tuesdays for 28 May 2013
I’m finally reading Diary of a Mad Housewife (an old 1970 paperback copy, not the edition in the image above) after all these years of loving the movie (which is so rare in hardcopy form, that a VHS tape costs $118 on Amazon!) There’s a really good review of the film HERE.
I’m not getting through it very well since I’ve been busy, but I look forward to reading it each night. Now that I’ve read this, I’ll have to read Looking for Mr. Goodbar as in the old movie with Diane Keaton and Richard Gere.

Monday Mashups for 13 May 2013
Monday Mashups are a collection of interesting book-related items that I've found recently.
The Allegiant cover is HERE!
Michigan has decided to continue reading Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl—The Definitive Edition on the 7th grade curriculum.
Reading Rainbow has tips for family reading in lieu of Family Reading Week.
See how a book is made when proofing a story.
The cover release for Once We Were is out.
There are a ton of links about The Great Gatsby not being that great of a film. I don't care. It comes out on the May 17th here and after listening to some of the soundtrack, I'm all for it.
And finally, if you've not seen it, here is the trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Happy Reading and Happy Monday!

Friday Reads for 10 May 2013

I’m going to start Along for the Ride today. I just got it from the library, and I really want to finally finish a Sarah Dessen book. I love what I’ve read of her other books, but I always have to return them to the library or something before I get to the end.
Yesterday I bought Diary of a Mad Housewife that has the cover from the movie, not the new edition cover. I love 70s movies and this one [full movie on Youtube HERE] was one of my favorites when I had Starz channel during college.
I also bought Pretty Little Secrets because I miss my Pretty Little Liars books (I stopped after book #5), and I pre-ordered Sarah Dessen’s Moon and More which will come out next month.
FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).
My finds:
Allegiant by Veronica Roth
The Revised Life of Ellie Sweet by Stephanie Morrill
Across the Universe by Beth Revis
